T O P I C R E V I E WkoiflowerWhat are your experiences with asteroid Pandora (55)?What would you say its impact would be?How do you think it would influence your Sun, Moon or even Venus?AzalakshI have an interesting story about Pandora Three years ago there was a terrible storm here. Straight-line winds took down one of the trunks of the cottonwood tree in my back yard (we're talking 3-ft diameter here). The "branches" which were 10-12" in diameter, came down on my roof, punching holes as big as 3 ft x 3 ft. Naturally the deluge of rain came thru the holes, found its way thru the main floor, and descended on the basement like a waterfall.A few days later, a pal was looking at my chart and she went, "OMG, Pandora was on the "roof" of your chart (MC) that night!!" Pandora certainly opened up MY box (house) BornUnderDioscuriWow Zala that sounds interesting! My Pandora is conjunct my Venus by 5 degrees. But makes no other aspect. PeaceAngelBUDLooking at Pandora's influence, I wouldn't be complaining about that! Mine is quite uninteresting as well. I'm thinking that's a good thing. spunkniniDamn it koi!! what are you doing???? Pandora now?? oi....I just got through discovering & trying to work out my south node BS. Your'e killing me GF!! you know that once I found out about something I HAVE to know all about it!(yes, yes I am pouting in my corner pa)OK, who is she & how do I find it in my chart........PLEAAAAAASSSSEEEEEEkoiflowerZala - Whoa! Storms came from Pandora's Box. Seems like they found their way to your house!!! Luckily no-one was hurt!!BUD - Pandora conjunct Venus could be a good thing!! Do you attract admirers easily? Then again, it seems with Pandora, comes unexpected consequences. So watch those admirers! lolPA - you uninteresting??? Pandora is definitely there somewhere spunknini - My Pandora must be conjunct your Pandora. Obviously, I've aroused a curiousity and that is one of the characteristics of Pandora!!I love this analogy of Pandora: quote:There is a big pile of rubbish in the middle of the house. It has been there for ages and it smells. Every member of the family walks around it pretending that itīs not there. There is an unwritten code of conduct in the house - nobody talks about it. If somebody from outside mentions it, the whole family cries out angrily: "There is no rubbish in this house! What smell?! What are you talking about?!" If the outsider tries to explain, they all yell "Shut up!" and they throw him out of the house.Enter Pandora. What is this huge pile of rubbish doing here? Why does it smell so bad? Why donīt they take it away? I wonder what can be hidden in it Perhaps they have something valuable there Why are they so angry when one mentions it?Pandora reveals a Truth without realising a consequence. Personally, I think Pandora was set-up. So, if you have amazing talents like Pandora did, protect them from others or risk becoming a scape-goat.Pandora can have other positive meanings. She was the first human created in heaven by the Gods. I was forced to clean up all the clutter in my basement due to Pandora's Storm.....My poor little house!! alvarella777I always found PANDORA to be one of the easier to understand and intrepret asteroids - because the Pandora-myth is so clear-cut, reasonable - and that story relates very well to my own natal PANDORA.It's located in my 9th (higher learning, travelling, roaming mind, principles) in late LEO. Taking tight orbs (0-2) only, it is- cj. my Hybris ("self performance")- cj. Constantia- cj. Escalante ("going ahead in life")- cj. Sun/Uranus- cj. Mercury/Uranus- cj. Mercury/MC- cj. Mars/PlutoThe story/interpretation is simple: PANDORA gives me a deep seated urge to shake things up, from time to time - to change my geographical AND mental/intellectual settings, to always seek out new (mental/geographical) challenges ... it is just part of my personality ("Hybris") that I seem to be person of the kind: "here today, gone tomorrow". PANDORA won't let me help that, haha! Just recently I received some e-mails from friends, telling them about my current job change and the next move to another town that is on my agenda - and these people told me: "Unbelievable ... everything is always completely different with you, after a year or two..." It can be exhausting - but I really feel the need to explore and re-invent myself, often. And this also helps me being "successful" in my profession, by the way. ("Escalante") My "career" is volatile, but intense, "intersting" to say the least ... for being "successful" I feel I have to pay the price of extreme mobility, flexibility and the willingness to re-think outdated patterns - and to really re-vamp EVERYTHING;-) (In fact, I changed the places and towns I lived in about 13 times during the last 18 years ... 5 different big cities involved ....) All that Pluto, MC, Uranus, MC-Midpoint-stuff involved, both my natal Pluto and Uranus are located in my 10th house.PANDORA also trines my P.o. Fortune in 5th (self expression) and sextiles my Jupiter in 11th (ideals, high hopes). It squares my fixed and stubborn and brooding Scorpio-ASC, though ;-)Another side-effect: My PANDORA also stands in conjunctions with two important Loves of mine - 1 dg close to the natal Leo-Sun of my most important Ex-boyfriend and "almost husband" - and 3 dg to my latest long distance-lover's Leo-Sun. Both had to find a way to cope with my need for roaming and mental movement and need for inventiveness. (Number one managed to do so, we stuck together for 9 years. With No. 2, it's a different story...)***edit: KOIFLOWER, if you don't mind I'll send you a short e-mail soon. I've got one small question (hopefully the last one in that matter, haha). As always: Don't feel "obliged" to react to it! I am just SO curious, that I just MUST ask you something again ...;-) Probably even YOU won't know the answer, but I'll send it anyway.***Peri http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandora quote:In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman.......After humans have received the stolen gift of fire from Prometheus, an angry Zeus decides to give men a punishing gift to compensate for the boon they had been given. In this, he appears to follow a possibly pre-Hesiodic tradition, preserved by the second-century fabulist Babrius,[14] that the gods sent a jar containing blessings to humans. A "foolish man" (not Pandora) opened the jar, and most of the blessings were lost forever.... ....Over time this "all-giving" goddess somehow devolved into an "all-gifted" mortal woman...Jane Ellen Harrison sees in Hesiod's story "evidence of a shift from matriarchy to patriarchy in Greek culture as the life-bringing goddess Pandora is eclipsed, the death-bringing human Pandora arises."[39] Thus Harrison concludes "in the patriarchal mythology of Hesiod her great figure is strangely changed and diminished. She is no longer Earth-Born, but the creature, the handiwork of Olympian Zeus." (Harrison 1922:284) Robert Graves, quoting Harrison,[40] asserts of the Hesiodic episode that "Pandora is not a genuine myth, but an anti-feminist fable, probably of his own invention." When one opens this box usually gets carried away by its content and indulges in it too much and so the consequences are inevitably negative. The gifts then become curses. Something like a bad-aspected Jupiter... amowls**I have it conjunct ASC and Chiron in the 12th.Ami AnneAmwols I found that Pandora can open and everything can come flowing out, given the right circumstances.
