T O P I C R E V I E WGabbyrip(7711)Any ideas if this asteroid has a deeper meaning than "rest in peace" as in your dead? Where does it fall in your chart?Maybe it means once i achieve my north node i can literally rest in peace or even be free to leave this life and move on to next?ail221I think RIP in this case is more about making decisions, look at the "Dictionary of Minor planet names"(7711)ˇRıp1994 XF. Aldebaran: "It gives honor, intelligence, eloquence, steadfastness, integrity, popularity, courage, ferocity, a tendency to sedition, a responsible position, public honors and gain of power and wealth through others, but its benefits seldom prove lasting and there is also danger of violence and sickness."Also semisextiles my Moon/Chiron in Taurus. Intriguing. I'm also not liking that "benefits seldom last", as I have Sun on Regulus and it has that descriptor too. I'm not sure what to say about Rip with Hekate though... Hecate-"Godess of Crossroads"The Greek goddess Hecate reminds us of the importance of change, helping us to release the past, especially those things that are hindering our growth, and to accept change and transitions. She sometimes asks us to let go of what is familiar, safe, and secure and to travel to the scary places of the soul.New beginnings, whether spiritual or mundane, aren't always easy. Oft times she shines her torch to guide you while you are in dreams or meditation.Hecate teaches us to be just and to be tolerant of those who are different or less fortunate, yet she is hardly a "bleeding heart", for Hecate dispenses justice "blindly" and equally.Whether the Greek goddess Hecate visits us in waking hours or only while we sleep, she can lead us to see things differently (ourselves included) and help us find greater understanding of our selves and others. Although her name may mean "The Distant One", Hecate is always close at hand in times of need, helping us to release the old, familiar ways and find our way through new beginnings. http://www.goddessgift.com/goddess-myths/greek_goddess_hecate.htm http://home.comcast.net/~subrosa_florens/witch/hekate.html popcornooops RIP conj Atlantis conj IC in house 4Gabby quote:Originally posted by ail221: It must mean something because its on one of the critical degrees in astrology and conjunct Regulus the fixed star. Like you see rip, literally a rip or something torn...my initial though on the asteroid was rest in peace, like your dead, but rest in peace could also show a place you finally are able to feel at peace inside yourself...like ail221 brought out. A path you follow thats bringing you what you need, and you do find peace in that! I like hearing how these asteroids feel to others and what they mean to them, keeps a fresh perspective for me, but really i guess thats redundant to say because thats why we all are here, to gain new insights!
