Stella91 | What does Amor symbolise? I've read a few conflicting interpretations and I want to see what you guys think too. The interpretations I've read say that Amor symbolises a) a non-romantic kind of love, the way we love people and things in general OR b) the obstacles we face in love, the blockages, the conditions we place to love. So what do you think? And where is Amor in your chart? Mine is in 2H Aries and it's also retrograde |
Stella91 | This is an interpretation of Amor from mysticmarguerite. Amor: Asteroid Amor represents idealized love, a love not necessarily of this earth. Amor is not particularly sexual in expression, but radiates warmth and a sense of "Agape" or a love that is given without an expectation of receiving. The house where Amor is found is where the person expects to express this kind of love. The pain of an afflicted Amor can involve disillusionment over this altruistic love not being returned, or there may be something else one wants that will result in the denial of love.

Ceridwen | I agree with her interpretation. |
bjorkstrand | Here's an interesting LONG list http://www.minorplanetcenter.org/iau/lists/Amors.html Amors aren't your typical asteroid. I like ganymede. It's the biggest of the group. I do believe it is the showman. Jim

Stella91 | By "Amor" I meant the asteroid Amor (1221). I've heard a prominent Ganymede in a man's chart shows homosexuality. Do you think that's true? What would it show in a woman's chart? |

Stella91 | Oh, I see. I'll go find Ganymede in my chart then! |
Stella91 | I can't find it |
bjorkstrand | The number for ganymed=1036. Years ago I downloaded a free astro.com program which has a separate directory for "asteroids" which includes tnos etc. Whenever the astronomers finally number an object I go to astro.com and download the number of the object. The programs are at ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/programs/ Add as many "asteroids" as you want http://www.astro.com/ftp/swisseph/ephe/ Jim

Stella91 | Thank you! By the way, do you happen to know any sites where you can add as many asteroids as you want in your chart selection? 10 is a really small number when there are so many celestial bodies out there! |
