T O P I C R E V I E WSunAscendantSamadhi is a Hindu and Buddhist term that means "to make firm" or "establish" when translated to English. A deeper meaning of the word means the last state of meditation you achieve in meditation or yoga where you are out of your physical consciousness mind and attain equal mind and soul balance. This is a good astrological description of the asteroid. Does anyone else have any insight as to what this could mean when conjunct the natal sun?SecretGeekIn the discovery chart, Samadhi is at 14'50"r degrees Leo and opposite the Sun:"15 Degrees of Leo is one of the worst degrees in the zodiac, either natally or in prediction. Prominent in the charts of serial killers, felons serving life sentences, in the charts of those who have fated hard luck, etc. Helen Keller, both blind and deaf from a very early age had her chart co-ruler Mars at 15 degrees of Leo, along with no air signs. [Air signs are communication]. Stevie Wonder [blind] Pluto at 15 degrees of Leo, Ludwig van Beethoven, deaf, Saturn at 15 degrees of Leo." http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/Degrees.html StelliaThis is a really interesting asteroid, thanks for flagging.Have done some research and there is a definite theme of uniting physical with spirit - it's fascinating. http://www.ananda.org/yogapedia/samadhi/ Perfect union of the individualized soul with infinite spirit. (1) A state of oneness; complete absorption. (2) I wonder if this could be a useful asteroid in looking at soul connections and even twin flame relationships. If this was the case, having it conjunct the sun, moon or asc natally could be a marker for achieving ascension in this lifetime potentially.Potential uses in interpersonal stuff are very interesting as well. I have done some initial playing and I have it tightly conjunct someone's Agapenor, and in the composite with the same person, Samadhi is conjunct the Ascendant.Definitely one to maybe think about in terms of TF and soulmate relationships, if only to plug it in to known unions and see where it lands to learn more about it.The transcendence theme is really interesting and one I'll look at more - it feels similar to pluto but more spiritually focussed. hypatia238Huh I have it in scorpio at 18d in the first house and tr jupiter was conjuncting it not that long ago, at some point this year anyways.I have known about the benefits of mediation for a while now but this year I got into it more in depth, understanding more deeply its effects on neural plasticity, its ability to rewire your brain and change its structure.I did experience Samadhi while meditating last year, I felt like pure vibration and nothing more, it only happened once, I felt like I was vibrating and could hear the sound of this vibration, I felt like I was one with everything and not in my head/mind at all. Personally I consider Scorpio Moon very suitable for meditation since it supposedly loves to get right to the depth of things(in this case the depth of the inner world).vansiofascinating asteroid... I have SAMADHI 12472 conjunct (1°) Ascendant and Mars, also trines my Sun/MC. 18, 33 LerenaI have Venus in Taurus conjunct Samadhi in Taurus in my chart. It has an orb within 2 degrees, but I'm not sure what this means. I'm in contact with my twin flame so maybe it's a reference to twin flame union? I'm interested in hearing further thoughts.Venus is the ruler of my 6th, 7th, and 11th houses (My 3rd-9th house axis is intercepted). Twin flames don't always have a romantic connection, but if Samadhi's conjunction to my Venus in Taurus has anything to do with twin flames, it would accurately reflect how my twin and I interact. We have a non-physical romantic relationship.I'm not familiar with Samadhi as an experience so I don't know how accurate my interpretation could be.manymoonesI have Samadhi sextile Ascendant and trine Moon/Jupiter. It's not all the time, but when I really feel like I'm in tune with myself, it's like a switch I can't turn off. I do always have a sense of being at one with everything too, which is usually in the head/mind by default, but especially when my Sun is lit up in transit or synastry, there's no stepping out of it. It is loosely inconjunct my moon, though, so I can lose track of it if I'm really in my feels, but it always comes back in the end. I've been curious about this asteroid too, since it does seem to have a lot to do with meditation; I don't meditate often consciously, but sometimes it feels like I do on the daily without meaning to. I'm always in some state of self reflection unless I'm interacting (ie, being present) with another human. Maybe that's why I prefer to be on my own so often hahah!*Oh, I should probably note, this isn't always a positive thing. Sometimes it can mean constantly reading into the universal patterns and meanings for ... everything. I usually have to catch myself trying to divine/understand why something is when really I should be letting it just exist on it's own. Note as a girl I ♡ed the Pegasus more so than the unicorn. Just my fondness of wings.
