T O P I C R E V I E WzosoCan anyone do this well and have tips to offer? I realize that everyone may have different techniques, but I can't seem to do this very well at all. Maybe I should try a better way. PhilbirdNow that I know how to recognize it, and when, I tell myself to consciously enjoy the experience. Upon going to sleep and waking is when I experience them, it's pretty cool because I know I'm between waking and sleeping and tell myself I'm dreaming and it's pretty cool I know that! How to? Isn't it like meditation? When I was younger, I'd do this during class, but still remember what was said in class. Maybe I'm not real clear how to explain it.Is lucid dreaming considered a parallel universe? Having two experiences at the same time and remembering both?RaYeah, bi-location, that's what they call it. An interesting experience. I sympathize zoso, it has always been very difficult for me to become truly aware while dreaming as well. There are so many methods. I know there have been topics on this before, so you might want to skim over the past topics and see if something grabs you ... and you could try old topics in Universal Codes, too. Here's an example of my trouble ... I read that becoming aware of your hands in a dream can be used to trigger consciousness, to become lucid. So for months I would tell myself before sleeping to notice my hands, to look at my hands and I would question the dream and then become aware. Three times I dreamt of my hands. Each time I was somehow eating them. Once with a fork, once by simply munching on my fingers, and the other I can't quite recall ... I'd have to look it up, but I was eating them. My subconscious was trying very hard to get my "attention". Not once did I question what I was doing in the dreams. Of course it was obvious as soon as I woke up. Keep reading about it. I have found that simply reading about lucid dreaming and OBEs often will help "spontaneously" induce one. If not, then at least you're learning something, maybe something you can use. Just remember - have fun. scorpbaby Yes Zozo I would suggest you keep reading as well. Also remember to be conscious of your mental processes in your daily life. Do anything to hone in on your thought patterns. You could even practice stream of consciousness in a journal. I've always been a vivid dreamer and tended towards introversion, so I acreddit some of my ability towards that. I never practiced lucid dreaming or OOBE's . I didn't even know I was having them until I shared my expeirences on this site and it was confirmed. After this, I began to read articles about lucid dreaming/ OOBE's and then I became fully aware of my ability. I've had several memorable expeirences once I tapped in and acknowleged what was happening to me. Just have confidence in yourself and believe it will happen. PhilbirdI never considered it unique in any way, just a fun game I'd play with myself. I'd see how long I could consciously tell myself I was dreaming.Ra, why were you eating your hands?zosoI've had dreams where I've woken up from a precog dream, only finding it to unfold in front of me, just like I dreamt it would. Then I really wake up. I have dreams within dreams quite a bit, so when I "wake up" I feel totally awake because I can remember the dream I just had. I had another dream where I was waking up and realized it. I wanted to go back and kiss this guy, so I did, but it was very hard to keep in the dream--like I was being pulled away. Guess I gotta keep trying. Thanks for the tips, I'll go back and find more threadsPhilbirdYeah, I hate it when you are having full blown sex in a dream and just at the point of...and Russell Crowe, I mean, the guy dissappears! You wake up all hot and bothered!RaPhilbird, it was the way my subconscious was trying to get me to become aware of them. My goal while dreaming was to look at my hands and recognize them, hopefully triggering my suggestion before sleeping to become lucid upon seeing them. That method didn't work.
