T O P I C R E V I E WproxiemeOK. So, forty minutes into a wonderful phone callCancer, out of the blue: "Well, I can say that I at least keep in touch with people, huh?"Me, searching my mind: "Yeah, that's not one of my strong points..." (thinking: Oh, he must be talking about the fact that we didn't really talk from about November of last year til October of this year.)C: "Yep, no e-mail all week or anything."Me, dumbfounded: "Well, it has been a pretty busy week for me." And then I felt bad.And then I realized that "all week" consisted of Monday. Just Monday. Maybe Sunday, if you want to get technical. On Saturday I said that I probably wouldn't be available all weekend b/c I would be working in the evenings; he then sent an e-mail saying to give a holler back if I wanted to get together sometime during the day, maybe see a matinee. I didn't e-mail, b/c I had other stuff to do. So, Sunday: nothing. Monday: nothing Tuesday: I e-mailed him a Doonesbury cartoon (he's a Rep, and I love egging him on) Weds: another Doonesbury cartoon about Reps gloating about their sweep AND a message asking if he wanted to change his wicked ways and go see "Bowling for Columbine" with me Thursday: he e-mailed back asking if I'd settle for "Frida" because she sleeps with Trotsky and "that should be a big selling point knowing your political flavors", and to call if that'd be fine. So I called. How on god's green earth does that constitute ignoring him all week? It's just a Cancer thing (I have -no- planets in Cancer, although I do have a 4th House Merc- but I still don't get him; he's veryvery Cancerian, both Sun and Moon) and I should take it w/ a grain of salt, right?Oxychickheehee-I hear that! Someone mentioned that Cancer men are clingy...you think?------------------"What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us."-Ralph Waldo EmersonN_wEvilmy ex was a cancer and i'm a cancer moon, so i can testify that people under that influence are indeed VERY clingy FoxxyRArh!!! Cancers. Don't get me started LOLMy former best friend is a Cancer, and there is former attached only because with her SO requiring her constant static cling she can't be bothered to call her friends once in a while. With her scorpio moon she also has a barrel and a half of grudges *Rolling eyes* I mean, I'm sag rising, with Mercury cnj and just barely in cap, I have jupiter in the ninth, she should grow and move on and the topic is so old now right? Her clingyness drove my sag nuts, I just wanted an independant streak in her personality somewhere hehehehCarlo proxiemeAw, I'm always nice to Carlo. I'll prove it by wishing you a speedy recovery - as well sound defense against boring scripts - and by showing my solidarity by pretending to be sick today as a grand gesture of support (oh, ok - I was already kinda pretending to be sick, so it's no big stretch).I think that he centered in on the Trotsky thing because dude insists on calling me a communist (being the Cancer/Cancer/Virgo posted on earlier, he's oh-so-cripplingly conservative; anyone not subscribing to the FNC philosophy of life course is irredeemable in his eyes).I told him to hold off til Monday or Tuesday for "Frida", as I'd already made a date w/ someone else to go see "Bowling for Columbine" on Sunday. And, yeah - belligerent kitchenware can be a b*tch .CorriproxiemeOxychick - Yep, it's a wee bit frustrating; I think that my Pisces Sun Self may like it a little (not enough to wish it to become a habit, though). I think I like Carlo's idea of not writing for a few days just to see if he'll conflate that into a month.N_w - Are all ya'll prematurely possessive, too? Dude & I aren't even remotely dating, but when I told him that I already made plans for Sunday to go see a movie w/ someone else, he had the gall to ask if it was a guy. Foxxy -Dern, horrible you had to loose a friend over that; but, wow - Cancer & Scorp hand and hand like that. That's an awful lot of water to tackle. Question: Did she get jealous of even your friendships w/ others (that didn't include her in some way)?CorriAmberVonSchriekOY!HELLO! I can SO RELATE!!! Cancer man.. clingy is an understatement. Calling 3 or 4 times a day while he's at work, calling an hour after he leaves and saying "Do you miss me yet?" *bangs head on desk*------------------and if your world has turned to ashes, i will leave you never even when the sun's blown out, i will shine forever.. i caress you with my charms, i'm your best friend, the dream.. i'm the light that guides you through the nights and deepest haze AlenaJust passing by.........This thread is hysterical. Carlo Foxxyheheh Nope, Roxanne couldn't process that they both existed, and were seperate. For instance I was babysitting, the kids had finally gone to sleep and it was about 7:30 I was going to be there until 1am or so and I was talking to her on the phone. She was bored, I was always the plan maker because y'know when I'm bored I do not want to sit around at home and dig up the past. So she latched on to an idea since I couldn't come over get her off her ass and make her life exciting . "How about I come over?" Roxanne had never met the people who I was babysitting for. "No!" "Why not?" Now maybe because I am a capricorn with quite a libra streak, it is entirely apparent to me that you do not invite someone over when you are babysitting unless it has previously been cleared with the clients. I would hate to come home and find a stranger in my house unexpectadly, even if it was the babysitter's friend. Roxanne could not grasp the concept. So we had a mexican standoff for two days, because with that much water You Can't Fight. Technically we aren't even fighting _Now_ and we haven't talked since August. In fact what we are doing is Obstinately Not-Calling each other LOLA cancer that admits they're fighting with you was obviously lied to about their birthday. OxychickOne of my corworkers is also a Cancer (very sweet girl, but does she hover!) I don't know what her rising is, but when she asks for something done, in 2 minutes she'll ask if I know how long it will take, and she will keep pestering me every two minutes...literally.Hey, every sign has their quirks (except for Aquarians). ------------------"What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us."-Ralph Waldo EmersonCarlo Sher bearOh my God, I work for a Cancer.....If he's not in the shop, well he calls - and he actually asks "Do you miss me?" !!! I say -"well you've been gone for like 3 hours" and this response actually hurts his feeling.....I'm learning to to tell him I miss him before he even asks - that he likes!!!!!!OxychickVery funny Carlos! When I was a kid I had a t-shirt with Garfield on it and it said "Aquarius: Aquarians are normal. The rest of the world is weird."Wise words. ------------------"What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us."-Ralph Waldo EmersonCarlo proxiemeBut how-oh-how can Aquarians (or people significantly influenced by Uranian energy) be weird when they're oh-so-often dead center right?...unless you're saying that they're odd because they're right when much of the rest of the world is mussed up and confused. (There's no reason to the above posted pic; I'm just in the mood to put up a running naked person.)CorriOxychickYou both just put a huge smile on my face!Yes, my t-shirt got a little too small after a few years. Anyway, we're ruining Proxieme's funny post about clingy Cancer men with all this nonesense about Aquarians being "weird." Honestly, I don't know where you get this stuff... ------------------"What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us."-Ralph Waldo EmersonmorganaI just saw Bowling for Columbine and I had a great laugh (for the first part of the movie). But then, I'm not American. It's a must see:it's a textbook case of a Cancerian overconcern and patriotism expanded beyond all reason (cancer is eating you inside-out, right? think about it!) shine on!CinniLol, this posting made me laugh. I am married to a Cancer man and recently had a daughter, who was born two days before her daddy's birthday. While I cannot say for certain what my daughter's personality is going to be like, I can tell you that my hubby is true and true Cancer. He is there, period. It drives me so batty sometimes because I am Aries with Aquarius rising and I love to have my space as much as possible. Well, he loves to be there in my space, too, lol. He is, however, one of the more positive and fun-loving Cancers I have met, a true loon. One thing I have noticed is that Cancers have a wicked sense of humour, which I have always enjoyed. Has anyone else noticed that about their Cancer significants?RandallWelcome to Lindaland, Cinni! ------------------"Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca ClarkRubyRedRamI am in an aries/cancer relationship also and yes, my cancer man has a wonderful sense of humor. He is not clingy though and is always off doing stuff with his mates and is always on the go....If I want quality time with him I usually have to book which is great because I need space!! Our time together is always wonderful but we are both truly individuals.
