Sepia | Just curious as to where you came up with your username? Does it have anything to do with..."The Greek historian Zosimus served as a senior official, probably an advocatus fisci, in one of the prefectorial courts of the eastern Empire, eventually rising to the rank of Comes. Zosimus was an avowed pagan (clearly not just another Byzantine), not hiding his animosity towards the Christian church. He was a lawyer connected with the treasury at Constantinople and was an upholder of Paganism" ??? Sepia |
zoso | I guess you're talking to me, since I'm the only Zoso. Gees, I wish my handle was that elaborate, but its actually from Led Zeppelin's fourth album which isn't titled because all the band members chose symbols to represent themselves. My favorite guitar player is Jim Page and his symbol is from alchemy and spells out zoso. Since its the only symbol that has definite letters, the Led Zeppelin IV is commonly called Zoso album. |
whalewasp78 | Right on zoso! |
26taurus | Ditto. Love the name zoso. Zeppelin rocks. |
Battle of Evermore | Right on ZOSO! i recognised your name right off. I got mine from a Zeppelin song |
zoso | I thought so, Evermore, because I really like that song. Actually, that's why I wrote back how much I love Led Zeppelin on one of your posts. Some of the more popular songs can be misleading about the bands entirety. Just like every good band, the really popular songs are over-played and over-analyzed. Only the *real* Zeppelin fans are interested in the not-so-popular songs that portray the energy/soul of the songs and the members. Battle of Evermore is one of those songs, IMO. |
whalewasp78 | My fav song by far is 'In the Evening'. 'In Through The Outdoor' is probably their most unique sounding album, where every song turned 180 degrees from each other. |
26taurus | I love Zeppelin's BBC sessions. I listen to those two albums constantly. |
zoso | My favorite nowadays is White Summer/Black Mountain Side. Sorry, Plant. No lyrics. |
whalewasp78 | Yes, I love the live version of WhiteSummer/Black Mountainside! It sounds like more than one guitar, as Pagey's fingers are on sonic flight the way it sounds!! I think my fav solo guitar piece is Bron-Yr-Aur. BTW, does anyone have the DVD that came out about 2 years ago? If not, it's simply a MUST BUY for the Zeppelin fan! |
whalewasp78 | Oh, now that's one I need to listen to 26taurus! What do you think of the almost 40 minute version of Dazed and Confused? I really love those unreal sounds Page gets during the bow solos on his guitar! |
26taurus | Yes! Mind blowing. I LOVE How Many More Times, it gives me the chills. And Traveling Riverside Blues, Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair - all of them. Every song on the BBC Sessions is really incredible. I've never seen that Zepplin DVD, I'll have to check it out, thanks! |
astro junkie | Get the Led out!! Yeah mon!! |
