Peri | Does anyone know if astro.com or any other astro program counts affetic value of the planets and displays affetic indices? ------------------ It all depends on how we look at things, and not how they are in themselves. Carl G. Jung |
Neptune's Muse | Peri, What is the affetic value of planets? I have never heard of this before...would you care to explain that please. Love, |
Yang | Yes, please do! |
Peri | Affetic indices help to examine strength and debility, benevolence and malevolence of each planet. The strength and weakness, benevolence and malevolence of the planets depend upon planets' placements. There are different systems of affetics: Avestian, Kefer’s, Lilly’s. Here is the link to Lilly’s affetic table: http://www.zaytsev.com/EManual/dign.html To know if the given planet is in its own face or term, you have to know Face/Term/Triplicity rulers, if the planet is in exaltation or fall… etc and etc. If you have all these rulers tables (or if your astroprogram does) you can find out your Alcocoden/Alchochoden (in my opinion Alcocoden is not the same as Hyleg (as most astrology glossaries say) and it does not reveal (in the natal chart) the number of years a person is going to live (while Hyleg does), it is a greater benefic of the chart), Anaereta (a greater malefic of the chart) and Dominus Geneturae (the strongest planet in the chart, it can either be malefic or benefic (some people confuse Dominus Geneturae with Chart Ruler though). Hope it helped. ------------------ It all depends on how we look at things, and not how they are in themselves. Carl G. Jung |
Pop Producer | What's the Chart Ruler? |
Peri | Chart Ruler is the planet ruling your ASC. I am Capricorn Rising so my Chart Ruler is Saturn. ------------------ It all depends on how we look at things, and not how they are in themselves. Carl G. Jung |
Peri | ZET 7 and 8 does! http://www.zaytsev.com/EManual/natal_chart_setup.html http://www.zaytsev.com/ edited* Though I do not know if ZET 7 Light (free version) counts affetics. ------------------ It all depends on how we look at things, and not how they are in themselves. Carl G. Jung |
Peri | hey all, In addition to Jdileo's thread (How many dignified planets do you have?)I think you all would be interested in counting your planet affetic values http://www.aquamoonlight.co.uk/dignity.html http://www.zaytsev.com/EManual/dign.html So for everyone!

Peri | I don't know Zala, I think I will hand-calculate everything myself and then compare my results with Pullen's. |
astro junkie | Azalaksh - I was thinking the same thing. The Pullen stuff on Astro.com... ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness |
