T O P I C R E V I E WSweetCappieHiI was checking out one of the links in the "Cool Astrology links" forum about the upcoming Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius. It said if your natal mercury conjuncts the transit mercury in retrograde, the problems that the retrogade cause could strongly affect you. I have natal Mercury in Sagittarius (retrograde 24.12 degrees). In what ways would the upcoming retrograde transit affect me? In my natal chart, my Mercury is conjunct Venus and Neptune. Transiting Pluto is conjuncting my natal Mercury and Venus too.------------------Cap sun, Cancer moon (1st), Gemini rising, stellium in Sag (7th house).wilsontcCappie,You said: quote:...if your natal mercury conjuncts the transit mercury in retrograde, the problems that the retrogade cause could strongly affect you...Your transiting retrograde Mercury will NOT conjunt your natal Mercury, so this does not apply to you. However, you will still have to put up with the miscommunication issues of Mercury retrograde (like everyone else! ).Retrograding,TimPeriWell, I have alternative point of view. When transiting Mercury moves on your natal Mercury then goes further/passes natal Mercury and then goes retrograde and makes conjunction to your natal Mercury again, we have the phenomenon where "transiting retrograde Mercury WILL conjunt natal Mercury".Moreover, I read somewhere that retrograde Mercury in natal chart has to deal with all kinds of setbacks, miscommunications, delayed trains and planes, difficulties in relationships and all these things because your natal retrograde Mercury is initially "trying to swim against the current".When transiting Mercury goes retrograde it becomes attuned with your natal retrograde Mercury because they start going in the same direction. So what is bad for direct natal Mercury may be good for retrograde natal Mercury! When transiting and natal Mercuries conjunct, your natal aspects to Mercury are being activated; the nature of the transit event will depend on whether these aspects are supportive or stressful. My two cents IknowUcappyHi guys!Very interesting subject ! I wanted to ask you about the upcoming mercury retrograde. In the past ( almost 1.5 yrs ago I started a treatment, beauty related , that finally didn't work. I got very disappointed and gave up on it. Now 1.5 yrs later I received a call from them asking me to go back to continue this beauty treatment. They asked me to go on Monday ( when mercury starts retrograde ! ) to see how to continue it. The question is... will this retrograde period be a bad time for doing sth like that? Does it mean the treatment will not work again ? Should I wait for the retrograde period to pass before I go back ? Also, is there anything I should look at in my chart to make sure that I do the right thing concerning this ?Thank You very much ! PeriIknowUcappy,You see, here you have two opposite points of view. Maybe the best way to know if you should or should not do something is to ask for a horary reading. Unfortunately I don't do horary charts but you can go to www.astrologyweekly.com/forum > horary astrology and post your question there, they do charts for free there.Good luck ------------------It all depends on how we look at things, and not how they are in themselves. I'll check it out ! wilsontcPeri,You said: quote:...When transiting Mercury moves on your natal Mercury then goes further/passes natal Mercury and then goes retrograde and makes conjunction to your natal Mercury again, we have the phenomenon where "transiting retrograde Mercury WILL conjunt natal Mercury"...This is not a difference of astrological opinion, but simply a statement of astrological fact:- Cappie has natal Mercury at 24.12 degrees Sagittarius- The upcoming retrograde will take place at 10.56 Sagittarius, where it is definitely NOT conjunct Cappie's birth Mercury at 24.12 Sagittarius- It will retrograde back to 24.44 degrees Scorpio- It will then go direct and no longer be retrogradeIf the transiting retrograde Mercury conjuncted Cappie's Mercury, then it could very easily have the effect you describe. But, since transiting retrograde Mercury won't conjunct Cappie's Mercury, any interpretations of transiting retrograde Mercury conjuncting birth Mercury do not apply here.Explaining,TimSweetCappieThanks for all the responses!!!Glad to hear the upcoming Mercury Rx won't conjunct my natal Mercury Rx. Phew!
