T O P I C R E V I E Wteaologist.BornUnderDioscuriIm a newbie too but i would also like an answer to that one...my bf and I also have mars sq pluto and a bunch of problems with Neptune/Uranus...and someone told me having a composite sun in the 6th house is not good ;(------------------Sun-GeminiMoon-ScorpioASC-Librateaologist.wilsontctea,Neptune (spirituality, also confusion, deception, idealization) opposite (energy is over-excited by) Venus (relationships), could indicate that the relationship is idealized, confusing, or even deceptive in some way. Be careful you both are not making the relationship into something it is not.Relating,Timteaologist.chrissymgreenThe composite chart is the map of midpoints between the individual people--where the two separate planetary energies blend into one. It is a map of the relationship itself, where the two Suns, two Moons, two Mercuries, et cetera meet and operate as an entity. The composite chart isn't personal the way a natal chart is. It has no individual consciousness behind it. Because this is the case, a composite chart has to be interpreted in a different way from a natal. Squares, for example, are not necessarily difficult in a composite. You can have a Venus/Saturn square in the composite, but the two individual Venuses can have perfectly good aspects between the two natal Saturns in the synastry. The square in the composite indicates a tension where the two planetary energies are connected. In the composite, it doesn't indicate the repression that can come in a synastry--it means that the Venusian energy in the relationship (which can be artistic, self-indulgent, pleasure seeking, loving, or all of the above, depending on the individual charts) has a developmental tension with the Saturn energy. The planet that is more 'outer' wins out. There is a steadfastness, with Saturn wanting to build something out of the Venusian desires. Because of the square aspect, the energies of the two planets become conscious. I find that mostly the hard aspects are significant in the composite, because the couple will be aware of them. Trines and sextiles are much less significant, because they don't make themselves known. They operate more like a soft hum going on in the background.teaologist.chrissymgreenDear teaologist,Oh yes, to a certain degree, a composite trine would operate to mollify the intensity of the more volatile composite aspects. You just have to keep in mind that the squares (& other hard aspects) in the composite are more apt to present themselves within the context of the relationship. And it's not all bad. You have to think about each *individual's* natal chart to see how that Mars-Pluto composite square will play out. Where is person A's Mars? What sign is it in? Is it the chart ruler, or an angular ruler? What kind of aspects does it receive? Same for Pluto. Then you turn to person B and do the same. Also, consider what *transits* are hitting that planet, the natal planet. This will tell you something about the nature of that planet's particular energy *at that time* for that person. Also, look at transits to the composite chart. They are very effective. Let's say that composite Mars-Pluto square is hit by transiting Pluto, forming a t-square. That's a long term transit that will change that couple's Martian/Plutonian energies. As for your relationship with your best friend, check for any hard angular connections (they count for A LOT). Also, check for vertex/antivertex connections (conjunctions to either the vertex or antivertex)...the vertex axis is very important. Also, you might want to look at antiscia connections. Squares to the nodal axis, too, are very intense, as are node-angle connections. But these are just a few things...you may or may not have checked for these already. That said, that Moon/Sun connection does count for a lot. The Moon is our basic consciousness; it is the repository of our past/auric sheath. And the Sun is like...well, it's a little like the engine of our car. It makes us go, so to speak.Hope this helps.Chrissyp.s. OH, I forgot to add that it is also important to check out each progressed chart and the connections between the charts. For instance, my partner and I have this set-up: my progressed ascendant is at 10 Scorpio right now, and his natal ascendant is 14 Scorpio, with Venus at 12 Scorpio and Uranus at 13 Scorpio. This is an intense connection, and you might want to check for these kinds of things between you & your best friend to explain why the friendship is so strong. It is intense because our progressed charts are like ... well, they are like where we are at NOW, in a big way. It is the chart of our evolving consciousness. So to have a connection where your ascendant is moving to meet hers or vice versa -- in essence, you would become more like her (or the other way around). And even though the progressed angles or progressed planets MOVE, and therefore are transitory, our progressed chart changes STAY with us. This is very important to remember. Check for all major connections between each natal to progressed. Nodes, Sun, Moon, Venus/Mars, vertex, angles, 7th ruler connections, the like.
