T O P I C R E V I E Wtuxedo meowGot some good info in the forum at Astrodienst but want to learn more-MoonDreamer81BUMP....I can't help, but surely this thread deserves more attention than some of the other negative ones we've been seeing at LL lately....------------------S:TaurusASC:GeminiM:Scorpio~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Be Kinder Than Necessary,For Everyone You Meet Is Fighting Some Kind of Battle..."tuxedo meowThank you- I think there is room for all but some things are silly to me-Critical degrees are of interest to me as a budding astrologer because I have something called a 15 degree Leo ASC in Pluto in the 12th house-supposed to be very rough. Also a friend has some sort of 15 degree in Scorpio-There is little in depth on the internet that I have found. Also want to know more about the 29th degree and other things. Is there anyone out there who knows anything about these things? I can flip a coin to answer all the does he love me? Do we have a future? questions that may not all be silly but it seems a lot are very Jr. high mentality which is a long time ago for me so not interesting to me. So sorry-Critical degrees and 2nd Saturn return and getting off the Karmic wheel of fortune (which is really happening to me) hooray! concern me more.i was told that this 15degree Leo Ascendent in pluto 12th house is one of the very worst degree aspect (yes free will i know i know)one could have. It is of concern to me because I am able to get very "icy" (not hot)and touchy at times and might make the wrong choice of reaction and really get hurt or hurt someone else in a very cold manner...As it is in my chart connected to Pluto (the Lord of Darkness and the 12th House this degree denotes some extreme stuff and has acted out as such some times in my life so far-Thank you, tuxedo meowlibraschoice7 Heres alittle something on that... http://www2.bitstream.net/~bunlion/bpi/CritDeg.htmlfor the 'noobs' http://www.cafeastrology.com/glossaryofastrology.html ------------------Sun in LibraMoon in CancerJupiter in CancerVenus in VirgoMars in CancerAscendant in CancerI "FEEL" therefor I amTigerlilyFrom cafeastrology:critical degrees classic critical degrees are 0, 13, and 26 degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn); 8-9 and 21-22 degrees of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius); and 4 and 17 degrees of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces). Many astrologers consider 0 and 29 degrees of any sign critical degrees as well. The classic critical degrees are considered sensitive, emphasized, and often strengthening, points. The 0 and 29 degrees are more crisis-oriented, especially in predictive work. Are there any specific interpretations out there? My Moon is 4'20 Virgo and my Jupiter is 26'23 Libra.According to the other site linked above: "I mention degrees without specifying which zodiac sign it is. That's because if a degree in one sign is critical, that same degree is active in every sign (usually). If 4 degrees of Virgo is active, then 4 degrees of every other sign is also active. This seems to be the case for critical degrees of all types, because of the way aspects connect up these corresponding degrees (they are all 30 degrees apart). You can ignore the zodiac sign most of the time. "My Uranus is 4'57 Libra. So that would mean my Moon and Uranus are active at 4 degrees but in what way?TigerlilyOk, just found this:According to Myrna Lofthus from A Spiritual Approach to Astrology:1. degree of cardinal signs - new beginning13. degree of cardinal signs - frustration due to maladjustment26. degree of cardinal signs - warning that plans are being overvalued before further progress is made9. degree of fixed signs - faith in ability to overcome all obstacles and difficulties15. degree of fixed signs - attachment to the law of karma - possibility for an advanced soul to fulfil its destiny and to teach others21. degree of fixed signs - agonies caused by purification of egoistic mind 4. degree of mutable signs - overcoming all prejudices and accepting the unity with everything17. degree of mutable signs - rebirth through the contact with the knowledge formunconscious mindcat71Questions - 1) do critical degrees only come into play using transits or do they have 'natal' meaning too?2) Is there any significance to having more than one planet at a critical degree in a natal chart?OMG JayWell I got my Moon in Taurus at the 29th degree and my Pas Fortunae in Gemini in the 29th degree.Moon in the 11thSun in the 12thLingI have vertex in the critical degree... Azimene degrees are those which are traditionally considered deficient or "weak", revealing a tendency to lameness, deformity, or other disability such as blindness. Some of the exaltations and rulerships are not traditional, but are widely accepted by astrologers today. http://www.astrologycom.com/zodiac2.html I'll try to post each sign's info. They all give a generic interp for the avatar point. Hopefully someone with some experience w/ this will add to this for you, Tuxedo!Avatar Point : A nickname for the 15th degree of the signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Many astrologers consider these 4 points to be "entry points" for important spiritual energies. http://www2.bitstream.net/~bunlion/bpi/Glossary.html Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) - 1,13,26 Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpion, Aquarius) - 9, (15), 21 Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) - 4,17 As you can notice, the 15th degree of the fixed signs is in the brackets, as it is sometimes taken as a critical sign and sometimes it is not...And what about the 15th degree of fixed signs? Yes, these degrees have actually a very particular role. They are central parts of each of the four squares where high energy concentrates. In spite of that, they are not critical degrees. We can consider them as an intermediate stage of the whole process. If other degrees are connected with active transformation, then here, we have domination of receptivity and letting go of what was accumulated during previous stages. http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Olympus/8784/critical.html tuxedo meowWell, all of us together are getting somewhere! I have that 15 degree Leo-figured it to do with Karmic stuff-now need to know more about "avatar"- People tell me that they can never forget me even if they have only met me casually, that it is as if I am a scent on their skin! (Hopefully not a scent like rotten shrimp!LOL) At times I can remember to "open the flow" and just be me and amazing things happen but that energy can run both ways- It is so wonderful when lindaland folks work together!A week or so ago i had 3 29 degree indications with Saturn between natal, transit, and progression! With these outer planet lineups it is weird but "enemy" after "enemy" are being dealt with (exposed, brought to task, etc) without me doing much of anything! tuxedo meowStars Edge Course has something about the 15degree avatarTigerlilyI'd like to know more about it. My ASC is 15'23 Aquarius and my Sun is 15'31 Cancer.tuxedo meowWell, 15 degree Leo and two others (I forgot which) are representative of an "avatar"-now avatars to me and on-line seem to have to do with little pictures folks use to represent themselves on line. Also I read somthing about people with this degree being able to turn on and off the avatar they have within-to be or think themselves as god/goddess like and to have certain missions to accomplish by using this power wisely- the question I was asking when this degree came up in an answer was about being able to become quite detached from what might be considered violent acts done around me or by me (usually as a form of protecting myself from attack by another)-like being coldly able to push a person down a set of stairs knowing full well they could get badly hurt;BUT the person was hitting me as I was backed into a wall! It wasn't the action I was questioning but the detachment from the end result. whacko Tuxie the killer kittenOMG JayDon't know if I notice anything?Venus is in Taurus too.
