ChameleonRising | I'm a cofused concerning Greenwich Meridian time. I've read that if one is born outside the British Isles then you have to convert your birth time to GMT. I was born in eastern Russia, so I have to add 11 hours? |
AcousticGod | What are you trying to do? If you're getting a chart done at astro.com or something, you can enter local time (without any conversion) as long as you've got the right location picked out, and it will figure out the time for you. |
ChameleonRising | Oh, so as long as the location is right (longitude and latitude) you dont have convert? I just read a book about astrology, and it mentioned converting to GMT if your born outside of the British Isles. |
AcousticGod | If you are creating the chart manually yourself using an ephemeris, then you would possibly have to do the conversion. If you use astro.com, the program there will automatically calculate accurately to compensate so that you can use the time of birth from the location where you were born. |
ChameleonRising | hm, i was born at 6:01 am in Russia, that's what I put when doing my chart on astro.com So I don't have to convert anything? Thank you |
AcousticGod | Using astro.com you shouldn't have to do anything. If you look at the top of your visual chart (the circle), you should see where they note both the local time as well as the universal time. Do you see that? Here's my chart. Time is the time on my birth certificate, so that was the time in the location I was born. Under that is Universal Time.
|
ChameleonRising | Yes. But why would side real and universal time matter in one's chart? |
AcousticGod | It's a matter of get the precise place and time in order to figure out where the planets were. Side real is a type of chart. |
