NAM | Does that person know that you are into trying to figure him/her out through astrology? What about family and friends?... And how do they feel about it? |
augentier | No one knows how into astrology I am, and they sure as hell don't know that I analyze their personalities LOL..I think I'm creepy enough ) |
LibraChickety | No one is aware how obsessed I have become with astrology - ESPECIALLY not my 'significant other'. Augentier, you're so dead-on with the whole 'creepy' thing. Sadly, a lot of people do think that people who are into astrology are flakes :P ------------------ Sun in Libra Asc. in Sagittarius Moon in Virgo Mercury in Libra Venus in Scorpio Mars in Leo Jupiter in Libra Saturn in Libra Uranus in Scorpio ........ I feel so naked ;) |
Aste*risk | I'm a very secretive person. (Stellium of Mercury, Venus, and Pluto in Scorpio) So I wouldn't DARE let anyone find out that I'm constantly analyzing their personality. My dad knows, but only because I know he won't go around making it a daily conversation. And I told my ex about it only after I was certain our relationship was over. I couldn't tell if he was creeped out by it. He just seemed kinda surprised. I'll never tell anyone else unless I'm absolutely sure I can trust them, or they're into it that deeply as well.

augentier | LibraChickety - i think it's our Venus in Scorpio that makes us creepy haha, we love to delve into things that are misunderstood ..i think astrology would fit in here |
LibraChickety | Augentier, you are sooo correct. It's refreshing to hear it from someone else |
ErickaF | Well I am a scorp too so there is no way i would tell anyone I use astrology to figure them out and stuff. My best friend was so in love with this guy that I read their synastry/composite to death! I knew their relationship so well...she was so amazed...lol. I think she thinks I am wierd now and creepy. |
SagSun | The only person who knows that I'm really infatuated with astrology is my mother. She used to think that astrology is just bullsh** but I've converted her. The rest of my family (including my dad and my special someone) thinks that astrology is just for flakes. If my special someone or my dad ever found out that I've analyzed them quite thoroughly and maybe now know more about them than themselves, they'd probably send me to the looney bin. |
CoralFrequency | Yes. Mine's cool with it. My Uranus sits on his Sun/Merc so he finds it all very interesting and likes it when I talk about it. I don't mention astrology to everyone, but my close friends and family know that I'm into it. I only hide it - if I think the person I'm talking to comes across as skeptical. A lot of people are *very* interested in it though. :edit: since everyone is mentioning Mercury signs - mine's Pisces. |
Isis | LOL Venus in Scorp isn't creepy! I have a 5 planet stellium in Scorp (incl Venus and Merc), and while I don't go around shouting that I'm into Astrology, I don't necessarily try to hide it either. If someone thinks I'm "weird" or "creepy" cause I'm into Astro...fk 'em! It's part of who I am, if my significant other thinks it's strange, they're not the one for me! I don't think anyone should feel ashamed of being into Astrology. You like what you like, and you believe what you believe. Nothing creepy in that! |
CoralFrequency | Isis |
SilverFairy | Everyone think's I'm a whack job anyway... So they know about the Astrology and Tarot. I think I get more bothered by family and friends to do it for them. |
Urania* | I tell everyone at hello.lol Mercury in Sag I cant keep my mouth shut when it comes to Astrology. All my family and friends know about my obsession with it and they just accept it. I used to talk about astrology stuff a lot more, but then I realised that some people are just not that interested, so I avoid talking about it to the people that seem bored with it. I got friends and relatives though that love to ask me questions about synastry (always a favorite) and transits (mostly Saturn transits :P). Tarot readings though..it's insane how popular they are. It's quite funny too, because they all consider it silly believing in cards but as soon as they see my tarot deck they're just dying for me to read for them..hehe.. |
LibraChickety | Urania, it's funny you brought up Tarot cards. When someone finds out I am interested in Astrology, they actually have the audacity to ask me "Do you do Tarot?" and "Can you read palms?" *ROLLS EYES* ------------------ Sun in Libra Asc. in Sagittarius Moon in Virgo Mercury in Libra Venus in Scorpio Mars in Leo Jupiter in Libra Saturn in Libra Uranus in Scorpio ........ I feel so naked ;) |
Love | Everyone knows how much I love astrology (my Mercury in Gemini) despite my 12th house Sun, Venus and Mercury, and I couldn't care less. Whenever I get the impression that someone thinks I'm a flake, I think it says more about them than it does about me. In fact, usually the first thing I ask people upon meeting them is "When is your birthday?" After years of studying charts, I have even the most skeptical interested enough to ask "what's going with the stars right now?" once in a while. And my parents make jokes all the time (in very good spirit) about "Murphy" being in retrograde whenever things aren't going so well in the communication department. Ha! Hilarious. |
heart cakes | "murphy" being in retrograde! ah, that's so cute!! i don't hide my interest in astrology from anyone. i've asked most people their birthdays within the first meeting since i was a teenager. i agree, if someone thinks you're a flake, it just means they are closedminded. no big deal to me and no shame! |
Diandra23 | Nice question to ask - im sure you will have many interesting answers! Well,my significant other knows im into astrology. He didnt freaked out but when i try to talk with him about transits and thats why is happening this and that...he just looks at me like thinking.."sure look lets go out and eat ice cream " - i get frustrated like this The same happens with my Family - my Mom is into Reiki and alternative medicines, but when concerns astrology she thinks its all coming from people with aerial minds What they dont know is that ive been slowly studying their charts and found surprisingly and astonishing truths concerning themselves as individuals...that helps me on dealing better with them and making me more comprehensive torwards possible clashes between us ( well not in this retro mars and my saturn/sun conj im passing through though...)

pidaua | Yep, my husband knows and participates in it. We use our synastry aspects as well as natal aspects to discuss what they mean in regards to relating to each other and how we see the world. It's great. My family knows I am into is as do a handful of friends. I did two readings this weekend for a couple that we know and it went over okay. The Aqua male totally accepted it right off whereas his Scorp wife took time to warm up to it. When she realized that I wasn't bs'ing nor was I using it to "get inside her head" she was very enthused about it. I also told her that if at any time she felt uncomfortable I would delete her information from my database. |
Urania* | quote: Urania, it's funny you brought up Tarot cards. When someone finds out I am interested in Astrology, they actually have the audacity to ask me "Do you do Tarot?" and "Can you read palms?" *ROLLS EYES*
I know..I've got people asking me for love spells. It's funny. They think I'm a witch. |
Sarai | My boyfriend hates anything new age. He knows I'm into it but I don't think he thinks I can know him any better through astrology. My friend (whose chart I posted here) knows I'm into astrology and is okay with it. She's sort of interested in the idea of it but doesn't think it can really work the way I've seen it work. She let me post her chart here so... My family doesn't really know. I have a good friend who lives in Cali that loves astrology. She sort of got me into it. |
Xodian | She knows it and we both laugh at it . Because we both take anything that astrological profiles say about us on a grain of salt. One thing I have learned about relationships is that its the partners who decide how a relationship goes one way or another and its usually misguided influences like Astrology that end up making a lasting dent on a relationship; Because Astrology does not places exact profiles on people; And for some, it ends up creating lasting impressions upon people's personas that end up creating unwarrented segrigation for no appraent reason other then aspects which IMO is kinda sad. Shouldn't astrology be used for contructive purposes? Like any other belief? Sorry guys; If both of us would let our seperate religious beliefs be a hinderence in our relaitonship, then we certanly won't let astrology create barriers. |
Jai | Only my immediate family knows I'm studying Astrology. I agree that people might tend to think I'm either flaky or creepy if they knew. I also have stellium in Scorpio (if you count Lillith). |
Planet_Soul | Venus in Scorpio is very sexy I ask people their birthdays all the time I have Llwelyn's astrological calendar at work, and wear sagittarius shirts.
My hubby knows all about my love for astrology, tarot, etc. It doesn't bother him in the least. He finds the basics interesting, but spaces out on the aspects and technicalities My friends are similar, anything more than Sun Sign talk spaces them out. My sister loves the tarot, but I haven't been able to get her to convert. So, basically I am a lone wolf out here When I'm craving my astrological fix, I just hop right into LL |
jane | Well, I'm not really trying to figure anyone out from astrology. It sounds so invasive when you put it that way. I just think of astrology as another way to understand a person, and far from the most revealing. My SO knows I'm into astrology and I share some of the things I learn with him. He doesn't look down on me for this hobby. But a problem we have is that he gets jealous with how much time I spend on it. I like a lot of alone time, and he's normally understanding of that, but if he's looking for together time, and I'm spending time reading about astrology, he gets offended that I'd choose that over him, while he's more understanding if it's a topic he considers serious and deserving of attention. So it's caused a little bit of friction. I have a notebook that I keep astrology notes in, and a few months ago I couldn't find it, and I actually accused him of hiding it! Turns out, I had put it in a different drawer. He's still milking that one, playing up the pain he felt at my accusation. Everyone I spend a lot of time with knows I'm interested in astrology, and perhaps I'm just friends with a bunch of egomaniacs, but they enjoy hearing things about their charts. I'm often surprised by how curious they are and how seriously they take it. When people I don't know well learn about my interest in astrology and I can sense their judgment, I tell them that I study astrology so that people can have something to feel superior to me about. I like subtly calling them out on their snobbery, and letting them know I'm aware that this interest makes me appear to some like a fruitcake. But I rarely discuss astrology with people b/c I don't think about it much other than when I'm at this site. You all leave me completely satisfied. |
