T O P I C R E V I E WLibraChicketyHi all,I have an Aries friend who is severely depressed. This is the first time I have gotten the opportunity to look at his chart. I am still learning how to do this. Any input on his chart and WHY he is having such a difficult time with life in general would be greatly appreciated. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if there was an indication of mental illness (i.e. bipolar, schizophrenia). If this shows on the chart, can you tell me where and why.Thank you, thank you! Aste*riskSun opposing moon may have its foot in the door. LibraChicketyOkay, I do see that on the chart What does this do exactly? Does this have something to do with his Aries vs. his Libra? Are they constantly fighting each other? I DO know that these two are opposing signs to begin with. Am I close? Is it only possible for opposing sun and moon signs to oppose each other? (i.e. Aries vs. Libra, Taurus vs. Scorpio, etc.)Is this the only time they can 'oppose' - when they are literally opposing signs??MUSTANGWell, tPluto is conjunct is nNeptune in the 12th, not a fun aspect.Even more impacting is tPluto conjunct his south node in the 12th - I feel very sorry for him. South node is very karmic, with pluto there, it can't be easy. Luckily, it will pass.Mars is Rx in his 7th house of partnerships and all relationships. I don't believe there is an indicator for mental illness in charts. blue moonSense of self (Sun) is united with the mental processes (conjunct Mercury) and together they oppose the instinctive reactions and emotions (Moon). That doesn't sound an easy configuration to live with. The Moon in conflict with Jupiter has cropped up on charts of acquaintances of mine who have told me they suffer from clinical depression and bi-polar more often than seems coincidence. This is just an observation, I am in no way saying it a categorical indicator of either condition. Or, indeed, that absence of it indicates absence of either condition. The progressed/transit chart might indicate stressful trends. I think it's fair to say that external life difficulties can trigger mental health problems. For example, get in a freak accident that leaves you immobile, you might end up depressed and on meds. I can think of a case in point on my street. At the end of the day, as tempting as armchair diagnosis can be, if you are really worried about your friend, it might be wisest to encourage him to see his doctor and checkout if his meds are working as well as they might. Happy Dragon*I have an Aries friend who is severely depressed. *going on for how long ? .. recently ?? .. for a few weeks ?? .. months ???apart from other transits mentioned ..transiting Chiron .. now at 12 degrees Aquarius ..has been squaring their natal Venus ( 11 degrees Taurus )transiting Saturn ( at 8 deg Virgo ) is now squaring their natal Jupiter/Uranus ..Saturn goes retrograde on the 19th of this month ..Khaineborn on the 29th VintryFirst of all, I think this person is not in touch with his feelings. He has a lot of fiery energy so he acts impulsively and rashly and he probably has his own beliefs in what is right or wrong so he acts according to them too. But the problem is that he doesn't use his intuition, feelings and emotions with oter people. He can come ecross as egocentric, insensitive and careless to people.Well apected Jupiter and Uranus but negatively aspected Saturn and Pluto opposes Mars. Bad aspects can possibly show us that he finds it difficult to relate to people and can be agressive with them (verbally). The good one show what a character he is. Probably believes in himself, doesn't need anyone else. He's quite a character anyways. Can be overoptimistic, erratic and changeable in behaviour, spontaneous.Yeah, the need to communicate shows very strongly in his chart! So I wull be a little surprised if he's not somebody who talks maybe too much, is loud and comes on a little too strong. VintryThe transits are ok for now, surprisingly. In fact his life-changing and challenging times are yet to come. When Saturn and Uranus move forward and change houses, they will transit his personal planets and action will begin. But at the moment, everything seems to be ok. If it's not, he should look within himself so he can prepare for those Saturn and Uranus transits because he better be ready when their time comes (year 2010).Aste*riskLC, I have the same problem (Libra Sun Aries Moon) so I guess it's safe to say I've been there before. You're right, the very reason why it's a problem is because they are opposing signs. It affects your emotions and decisions.Every time you make a decision, you feel another part of you being pulled in another direction. I guess, after a while, it gets to you and affects your personality.Bipolar disorder is when you have random outbursts and things like that, right? In his case, it's almost like another 'person' is trying to break the surface. Eerie. It makes one unstable, and he's probably likely to feel misunderstood by most of his peers, right?(I'm very surprised I haven't gone insane, myself. ) It elaborates much more at this site. http://cafeastrology.com/natal/sunmoonaspects.html Just scroll down a bit.anni17my aries friend is bipolar

Is it only possible for opposing sun and moon signs to oppose each other? (i.e. Aries vs. Libra, Taurus vs. Scorpio, etc.)
