T O P I C R E V I E Wstarrymsome transits are easy for me to detect - and almost easy for me to predict - what areas of life they will activate and how they might make me feel. i don't quite understand Neptune though. it's been conjunct my progressed Ascendant for a while. i dont know if i'm noticing it. but quite a few of my friends have a conjunction between Neptune and their Sun or other major planets - but what is it doing? I can't tell on them at all. they talk as if everythings going perfectly fine in their lives. the only thing i can think of is that it may be creating a bit of "illusion" or fog around them and aid a feeling of living on a cloud.. but I'm not sure. also, might I mention Im a Virgo Sun so I'm all confused about Pisces the chameleon, the fog, the undetectable vague watery thing.any insights, experiences?starrymbumpRev. AliceNeptune Transits do tend to bring "fog."Actually they dissolve the outlines of things, allowing, even forcing, the development of the intuitive side of life.Traditionally about learning to "live by faith", in modern language it may be clearer to say that we are learning to trust--to trust our higher power, our own intuition, the rationality of the universe, etc. Particularly when transiting the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant you are required to be "willing not to know," to "trust your guidance" to "follow your feet." Trying to figure things out at such times is just confusing and sometimes painful. This is about using the realms of consciousness that lie outside the everyday mind.It is common, during such periods to have some (usually temporary) vision problems--from trying to peer through the "fog" and see the future.During transits of the Ascendant and first house, you can try on different "looks" as the original self-image blurs out and gradually a new "spiritualized" vision of who you are replaces it.------------------You are a blessing and you are blessed. Rev. Aliceastrominister1@yahoo.comwww.lifeprintastrology.comLucia23Rev. Alice, can Neptune transits also make a person delusional? Like, instead of things feeling fuzzy or unclear, they seem intuitively crystal clear, yet you're just wrong?I've always been able to 100% trust my intuition and my dreams, but recently it totally let me down for the first time. (I fell madly into a one-sided attraction...my dreams, which have been predictive in the past, kept showing me that he felt the same way.) I've had Neptune Opposition Sun for what seems like forever and ever and ever. BucketriderLucia - yes. That sounds exactly like neptune. It forces you outside yourself and it makes you examine what is truly real and what isnt. What faith in life/God/the universe means and what it doesnt. What faith in relationships mean and what it doesnt. Overall, its goal is the development of faith, spirituality - but an authentic kind. It is also about connecting to people in a new and spiritual way. Its a lens on how life *really* is. Any delusions going on in your life will slowly and at times tragically come to an end. It also makes you very attune to suffering and possibly a conduit for universal or divine compassion. During a neptune transit you will likely meet people who are not well in a variety of ways and you will deeply want to relieve their suffering. This is part of the darkness and the struggle for faith in the face of profound injustice and suffering. It forces you to accept and perhaps embrace suffering as necessary and part of life and ultimately beneficial. The first response is often despair followed quickly (if you are moving with the energy) by compassion which in and of itself can help relieve suffering. It is said that at the beginning of a neptune transit there is some sort of catastrophic loss of faith or sense of the ground being pulled out from under you for probably a mix of personal and existential reasons. You may feel vaguely fearful and are not sure why. I have found this to be true. Over the course of the transit your beliefs and ideas about the world and people will be tested. While new ideas are formulating (and this takes time) you will need to develoip faith in the process and in a higher power/God. For a variety of reasons, it will often be hard to see very far ahead, as has been said. The point isnt to strategize better - it is to let go and work on faith and a sense of partnership with the universe.Neptunes work is slow, often hard to see but at the end a pretty profound transformation takes place (if it is hitting the sun or moon, much less so for other points) and you are never entirely sure how you got there. It is much more major than saturn or uranus. It is another realm - closer to pluto in degree of transformation than uranus, chiron or saturn. I am at the very end of a several year neptune conjunct sun transit. The last two of which have been the most intensely neptunian. One other thing - if you have any mystical ability or sensitivity, experiences will come much more easily and it will be hard to distinguish a spiritual perception from mundane day to day sort of thinking. It all mixes together. Many, many times during this transit, I had a person in mind briefly and they contacted me moments later by email, phone or text. Lucia23Wow, Bucketrider, that sounds like a lot of my experiences! I've gotten very involved with faith and healing during this transit...NightjarI'm sorry I'm straying from the subject a bit, but how is this possible: quote: I am at the very end of a several year neptune conjunct sun transit. The last two of which... The duration of a Neptune tranist is roughly 1½-2 years, where's your Sun exactly?BucketriderIt depends what planet is being transited. In my case it is the sun which gets the widest orb. Although it is most noticable when its within 2-3 degrees of exact, IMO - a conjunction to the sun or moon is significantly more intense than other aspects. Most would agree. I have felt the effect of neptune as early as 2005 and probably earlier when it was 3-4 degrees away. It is a very gradual transit. Not like uranus which is sudden and distinct. I dont think a square or trine would begin to be felt wider than 2-3 degrees. I am speaking only of the conjunction which by nature is the most transformative aspect. It is not like the square where you are being effected by events and changing mainly in your response to the events. With the conjunction - you are changing internally at the core or essence of whatever planet is being hit. You are also changing as you respond to new inner and outer circumstances. I think of it as kind of plutonic in its totalness.NightjarOk, so we're only talking about an interpretational difference here.starrymbucketrider, i found your description very helpful. thank you!

Traditionally about learning to "live by faith", in modern language it may be clearer to say that we are learning to trust--to trust our higher power, our own intuition, the rationality of the universe, etc.
Particularly when transiting the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant you are required to be "willing not to know," to "trust your guidance" to "follow your feet." Trying to figure things out at such times is just confusing and sometimes painful. This is about using the realms of consciousness that lie outside the everyday mind.
It is common, during such periods to have some (usually temporary) vision problems--from trying to peer through the "fog" and see the future.
During transits of the Ascendant and first house, you can try on different "looks" as the original self-image blurs out and gradually a new "spiritualized" vision of who you are replaces it.
