T O P I C R E V I E WyinyangI'm a Gemini sun with Ascendant and Moon in Water signs like Pisces and Cancer, not much Fire, but find myself attracted to fire signs - especially Aries. I connect well emotionally with water babies, but it's the fire signs (especially Aries) that make me "happy". Can someone look at my chart and explain this phenomenon?yinyang http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/ed6/bd6/ed6bd62a-e8f0-41c8-86dc-814557c0b976 DoozaMaybe you are attracted to what is missing in your chart. You have very little fire at all.... I think maybe fire sign people warm and stimulate you - feed you with enthusiasm - get you motivated, perhaps....PeaceAngeli had a friend who had lots of air and water in her chart and she was surrounded by fire signs. it was like we motivated her and she had the drive to do things that she couldn't otherwise do alone. i agree with the above reply - they make up for what you're missing.annafagree with the lacking elemet theory! I think some of the strongest attractions happen with people who 'complete' us. I have an abundance of earth in my chart, lots of water, a little bit of water, and no air...the men I'm most attracted to are ALWAY, ALWAYS, ALWAYS mostly air with some fire. Dani CaliforniaI'm gemini sun, Libra moon and Leo Asc and I always like water signs, even though I have venus in cancer. I think its the missing element thing.yinyangthank you all for your response! i'd love more feedback on my question. a couple theories i have:1) since i'm predominantly air, and air and fire go well together, i'm attracted to fire signs. (i find that i get along well with other air signs in general but the relationship almost feels too "comfortable" unless they have some water or fire in their chart. 2) MC in Aries, hence a natural attraction to aries and other fire signs, like sagittarius. i dont know many leo guys but i do have a good friend who's a taurus sun, leo moon and scorpio ascendant.3) Sun, Venus, Mercury in Gemini. (again, compatibility with fire signs)4) I've often been told by family and trusted friends I have a fiery temper and personality, in spite of all the water influences in my chart. Some people attribute this to the Uranus aspects in my chart - could this be a reason for the attraction? (eg. i'm attracted to people who are independent, adventurous, risk-taker, impulsive and volatile)When i was younger I am attracted to mostly water signs - I like them for their sensitivity, kindness and reservedness. However i find that things have changed now - what used to turn me on no longer turn me on as much, what i used to dismiss now grab my attention like nothing else. What are the aspects in my chart that contribute to this? To the response abovE:if this is a case of being attracted of what's missing in your chart, why am I not attracted to earth guys at all? CoralFrequencyGeminis brighten up my day and make me smile (I'm an Aries btw).I made a Gemini thread a while back, about how much I like Gem friends. You say you are attracted to fire sun signs.. but they can also have a water moon or asc or an earth moon/asc, which would make them more compatible. CoralFrequency quote:if this is a case of being attracted of what's missing in your chart, why am I not attracted to earth guys at all? Could it be because your North Node is in a fire sign?Check out this site: http://karma.astrology.com/nodes.html - for an intro on Nodes..And also this site: http://www.astrologyclub.org/ - on singleton planets. You have a singleton Mars (only earth planet) and a singleton Neptune (only fire planet). AcousticGodI think you're on the right track. I think we are attracted our complementary element signs. Those of our own element do tend to feel more like friends, while those of our complementary element can take on a more passionate feel. You are extremely airy. You have five planets not only in air signs, but also in air houses. Your chart has a very masculine tone overall with another two additional planets in masculine signs. So, yes, you're gay for masculinity. As to why Aries, that's a tricky one: 7th house cusp is Capricorn, so perhaps you are attracted to initiators/Cardinal signs. You have three planets in Libra, and opposites tend to attract.Aries dominates the 9th house. The 9th house is ruled by Sagittarius, which is your Sun's opposite sign. It's a little bit of an obscure link, but it could mean something. The MC is an interesting proposition. A late Aries could help your career.amowlsThe fire signs in your chart fall into your first, fifth and ninth houses. Anyone whose sun is in Leo will more than likely fall into your first house, so you feel at ease with them. Sagittarians will be in your fifth so you have a lot of fun with them (house of recreation and games and romance). Aries you will find interesting because they fall into your 9th house so they are there to expand your world view.yinyangThank you all for your responses and links to the websites I'm a newbie at astrology and i've never heard anything about singleton planets until today. Now i understand where my stubbornness come from!AcousticGod: Which planets are in "air houses"? do you refer to the 3rd and 11th house? My 3rd house is in virgo, and 11th in taurus - what does that mean?CappadoraYinYang, there are two things I see in your chart that could give you an attraction to fire signs...1. Although your 5th house cusp is in scorpio, most of the sign Sagittarius is contained within this house. As we all know, the fith house is to do with fun, glory, and romance, so people with planets in Sag falling in your fifth may feel exciting for you. Also worth noting is the conjunction of uranus to the 5th house cusp which may add to your attraction outgoing, volatile, unpridictable guys. Anyway, the 5th house connection explains any attraction you may have to people with Sag planets.....Now for Aries2. I've noticed that the house cusp symbolicly connected to the sign on the Dsc often gives extra information about the type of person to whom we are attracted. For example, in your case, you have the sign Capricorn on the Dsc and Capricorn 'rules' the 10th house cusp symbolicly. And Ta Tah!!! When we look at your 10th house cusp we see it falling in the sign Aries! (For more info on this topic see my thread 'An Extension of the Dsc'). I guess the conclusion is that I can see the signs Aries and Sag showing in your chart as attractions, as well as Aqua (5th uranus), Scorpio, and Capricorn. You say you are not attracted at all the earth signs, so perhaps the Cap Dsc simply means you will attract someone more experianced and mature than yourself, like an older guy. Time will tell....yinyang^^ Thanks for the explanation, cappa - everything you said is pretty spot-on. I'd like to retract what I said about not liking earth signs because i do have a very good male friend who's Capricorn, with moon in gemini and ascendant in Cancer (like me). I've also had a couple very good female friends who are Capricorn sun, but one has a moon in gemini (or was it Sag? I can't quite recall), and the other one I suspect has heavy Scorpio influences. I've always gotten along with water females and guys, and it's always reassuring to be around them. I also like air signs: libra and aqua for guys, gemini for females, and fire signs but most earth signs i've encountered are lacking... something, for me that is.The reason why I started this thread is because I had (have?) a big crush on this VERY fiery aries (his birthday is april 20) guy at work, who also happened to be 40 and happily(?) married with kids. He also held a very high position in the company which put him in the spotlight quite often, but my attraction for him has not so much to do with his status than his personality - he is genuine, open, honest/blunt in dealing with people, and he is always friendly towards everyone. He is also extremely energetic and looks much younger than his age. Needless to say, I am physically attracted to him (youthful looks, older/wiser mind, energetic) but it's his personality that won me over. That being said, I want to add that i am married to a wonderful cancer sun, libra moon, sag rising man and I have no intention of pursuing a relationship with this crush whatsoever. I just want to understand where this attraction is coming from as I've never felt this way towards an Aries guy, despite the fact that I've always liked them as friends.CoralFrequencyJust to let you know, I had a look at his chart on http://www.astro.com/.. If he is 40, that means he was born in 1968, right? I checked 20 April 1968 (in Singapore?) and the Sun is in Taurus after 9 am that day. So there is a chance he could be a Taurus, if the data I used is correct. He would still be very fiery with Mercury, Venus and Saturn in Aries, and Jupiter in Leo. yinyang<edit>CoralFrequencyThese are the traditional horoscope dates: Usually Aries goes to the 19th of April. These are not always accurate depending on the location and time of birth. In his case, if he was born in Colorado on April 20th that year - he has a Taurus Sun sign. Have you done his chart on astro.com? Linda Goodman believed the Sun switches signs as soon as it reaches 00'00 in the next sign - in which case your guy would be a Taurean Sun sign through and through and the Aries traits would come from the other Aries planets.. but many astrologers believe in cusps, in which case his Sun could have both Arien and Taurean traits - even though it is technically in the very first degrees of Taurus.Since you're new to this, I'm not sure if that made sense. But basically every sign has 30 degrees (on the 360' astro circle).. So Aries goes from 00'00 Aries to 29'59 Aries. Taurus starts at 00'00 Taurus and goes to 29'59 Taurus and so forth..
