T O P I C R E V I E WPreomateusI live in NYC for 20 years and I still can't figure out it's Sign. Commonly one finds that it's a Cancer, but "sense of security" and NYC...makes no sense. There are three more theories: Virgo, Capricorn and Aquarius (the most acceptable for me). What about you and your city? Also, did you ever visit any of these? Did you feel at home, astrologically?ARIES Albuquerque, Nashville, Florence, Krakow, Naples, Utrecht, Marseilles, Birmingham (UK)TAURUS Honolulu, Madison Wisconsin, Hastings, Palermo, Lucerne, Leipzig, Dublin, St. LouisGEMINI Brooklyn, Santa Cruz, London, Nuremberg, Tripoli, San Francisco, Melbourne,CANCER Seattle, Portland, Amsterdam, Manchester, Milan, New York, Stockholm, Tokyo, Venice, YorkLEO Miami, Bombay, Chicago, Madrid, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, RomeVIRGO Austin, Boulder, Athens, Paris, Boston, Toulouse, Corinth, Lyons,LIBRA Eugene, Antwerp, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Johannesburg, Vienna, NottinghamSCORPIO Baltimore, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Liverpool, Newcastle, Washington DCSAGITTARIUS Anchorage, Delaware, Moscow, Montreal, Beijing, Budapest, Naples, Stuttgart, TorontoOPHIUCHUS Vancouver, Barcelona, Santa Fe, Singapore, Brussles, Buenos Aires,CAPRICORN Houston, Oxford, Ghent, Delhi, Mexico City,AQUARIUS New Orleans, Brighton, Hamburg, Helsinki, Salzburg, St. PetersburgPISCES Ft. But Galway isn't in the list, although I would say, considering its artistic backdrop, it might be a Libra or Pisces city.I wouldn't feel at home at all in the cities that coincide with my sun sign (Scorpio, in case you were wondering) so they're out...And Brussels is a typical Scorpio city: seemingly kind on the outside, but full of cr... if you look closer. I'm not a big fan of it, as you might notice ------------------Official Conor's Feeding Machine!StawrI read somewhere that the USA is a Cancer Sun, Sag Rising, and Aqua Moon.StawrI wonder what Detroit is...amowls**This uses 13 signs, so the cities listed are based on that system (I'm assuming). So in reality, New York could be considered Gemini instead of Cancer.PreomateusThis is really gathered more for fun and the 13th sign is not seriously intended. 4lifephrasesPreomateus: I have not lived in US cities so can't comment.I thought Singapore was leo with so much celebration but then again it is very cosmopolitan and their economy is based on travel.London as Gemini makes sense.Detroit if it rises again from what has happened then I would think Scorpio. (Capricorn)/ Due to fights would even think Aries.I wonder how about people living in the city?Is it more based on the country?Any guesses on Rome?blugreyI feel at home in Seoul. starzy54I was born and raised in NYC myself.I always felt at home, until living in NYC became so expensive i didn't feel comfortable or secure.(Cap sun btw)I live in CA now and i feel a bit more at home here than i ever did in NYC.I am kinda interested in the Indian culture,so delhi seems like a cool place to check out.I really do like the simple life as a Cap.I like living somewhere where there isn't so much hustle and bustle.I'd like to live on a farm!! =)CoffeeI think New York STATE is Aquarius rising. My home town of Leeds is Cancer rising.RosalindWith the 13 signs system, definitely.GEMINI Brooklyn, Santa Cruz, London, Nuremberg, Tripoli, San Francisco, Melbourne,I LOVE London!Benedict Moon*I've heard of NYC being Cancerian even without Ophuicius in the picture. Anywho, NY-MILAN-TOKYO are three cities I've always felt a strange compulsion to visit, though the only one I've actually been to 394394 times is New York. nove731I grew up in Nashville...after taking been made to take a module in Tennessee History in secondary school, I can tell you definitively that Nashville is a Capricorn. December 25, 1779That said, of the above list, I've been to Nashville, Florence, Krakow, Marseille, New York, Venice, Chicago, Philadelphia, Rome, Paris, Boston, Lyon, Vienna, Baltimore, Washington, and Warsaw.I personally really felt at home in Chicago, Paris, and Vienna. I really liked Rome and Warsaw, as well, but I don't know if I "felt at home" in either of them.I've lived in Nashville and Washington, DC, and both have resonance for me, but both of a very different kind. I have an emotional attachment to Nashville, having grown up there, but I don't know if I would say that I have ever had a sense of "home" about it in an astrological sense. Washington feels more home-y in a social sense, but again, I don't know if I have ever had a sense of "home" astrologically.Chicago, Paris, and Vienna on the other hand...I felt very at home in. I don't know if that's an astrological influence or what, but nonetheless, I feel quite confident in saying that I feel as though I could live in any of the above (except Vienna, as I don't speak German, but that aside...hah).lechienI'm a Sagittarius, the world traveler! i have not travelled for the record 2 years! must get moving soon or my brain will start to grow mould!Aries - Marseille-FANTABULOUSLY amazing match with my Aries moon!!! i've been there twice (eta: wait, no. 3 times). i would LOVE to live there. Taurus - Leipzig-nice alternative place, although i had a flu at the time… it was alright.Cancer - Seattle, Amsterdam, Tokyo-Seattle Cancer feels fit to me, maybe because of all that fish? -Amsterdam feels more Aquarius to me? pretty place, but not for me to live. i would have lived in a squat there, but they are getting busted more and more nowadays.-Tokyo is amazing to be there as a stranger. i lived there in my infancy, tried again just after high school. i cannot live there. but nonetheless fascinating, exciting, sick sick place.Leo - Chicago, Madrid-my old town Chicago~~~. i lived there for almost 10 years. people are friendly there, lots of counter-cultural movements. it was in tune with my Leo Mars. -Madrid is easy-going. i quite like it. a friend lives there, so probably visit from time to time. but the bars close too early for my liking.Virgo - Paris, Boston, Lyon-Paris was my dream city since i was a child. i studied French to study there, but never happened. when i finally got there, i didn't have fun at all. it wasn't the Paris from my childhood anymore. it's all prettied up and expensive. -Boston too, I was only there for one day, and all i saw was pretty.-Lyon too! there's something about Virgo cities and me. Lyon is beautiful. too bourgeois. Libra - Antwerp, Frankfurt-Antwerp is laid back and nice. didn't feel too foreign to me.-Frankfurt (i'm guessing the main big one) is ugly. huge and ugly. and i had to sleep on the street one cold spring night there. horrible experience.Sagittarius (me!) - Budapest-i'm definitely going to go there! never been, but seen a short documentary, and have a few friends from there. i better get there before it gets too touristic and expensive!Aquarius - Hamburg, St. Petersburg-Hamburg is very Aquerian. i'm thinking of the beautiful harbor there. nice alternative scenes, but a bit too pretty. -St- Petersburg was grand! i would love to go there again, everything was rotten and dusty and bleak and magnificent. it had something romantic about it to personally, because i had in the back of my heard my Russian ancestry, though i have no clue where they were from anyway.hey but Berlin isn't in the list!? why, i want to know!SpooLNew York and London makes sense as a gemini sun, because of the duality and huge contrast depending on where you fit in society.Your either a big shot or "looked down on".Looks like Sagittarius cities are the best for me, I still consider Toronto my city.Even thought I temporarly live in Ottawa.Intresting, 2 of the 3 main cities in Canada are Sagittarius (Montreal and Toronto) and Vancouver is a ophichus, but i'd rather consider Vancouver a Sag/Cap cuspI guess Canada has the Sag/Capircorn feel then. I thought Toronto was a leo sun, given Toronto was founded in Augest. Then I relized that the city re-amalgamated in Dec-Jan 2005 and took that into account. The documents were signed in december, so yes you can consider it a Sag sun. But the documents took affect in January. My question thought is what about cities that keep getting biger and being re-amalgamated to incorporate smaller communities, does the sun sign keep changing also.I mean the city of Ottawa has re-amalgamated 3 times already since 2002. Twice in December, again in march------------------------Capircorn RisingGemini SunAries MoonMercury in Geminivenus in TarrusMars Cancer
