T O P I C R E V I E WAries23DegreesDo you get on with the Sun sign that opposes your Ascendant( that would mean that it conjuncts your Descendant)? To be honest, I prefer the sign that opposes my Sun(Sagittarius) to the one opposing my Ascendant.I have Aries ascending but oddly, many Libra folk are simply not my cup of tea.I have Libran friend, but his moon conjuncts my Ascendant and I consider him an exception to the rule.Does any one of you get on with your Descendant sign?dadeviI like Aquariuses(my descendant) in small doses. They're a lot of fun to be around, but they're too irresponsible and attention hungry for me to make close relationships with.charlieI keep meeting Pisces men. To my detriment. libraschoice77Never really had a romantic relationship with a Capricorn guy before, and the women I only sometimes get along with. They function as my opposite, because of all the planets in Cancer I have in my chart.I really love Cancers, Sun or Moon though as friends downtomarsI once read (I forgot where) that we usually get along with DC sign people of the opposite sex, as we see them as partners, but people of the same sex are more likely to be of the "open enemies" variety. I guess this applies more if one is heterosexual, because this doesn't take sexuality into consideration. I have found this to be very true, I love Leo men but most Leo women rub me the wrong way. Then again I don't seem to get along with Aquarians of either sex, but Uranus is conjunct my MC and squares my Sun...sweet-scorpionI like Gemini people a lot. It is my Descendant sign. But I've never been romantically involved with one. I just find them the most interesting for me to talk to and also the people who are usually most willing to have long and deep conversations that I crave. I would never be as good with an Aries person I think. I'm a Libra Sun and have known quite a few Aries and we are Ok together but I've never been able to make good friends or date an Aries. Just not that much chemistry. It isn't like we can't get along, I'm not just head over heels for the sign. It's not uncommon to feel this way about the sign opposite your Sun and, in some cases, your ASC. I guess if you have an afflicted DSC ruler it could also make you feel that way. I think it's because the sign opposing our Sun is where we are least comfortable... what we might want or see in ourselves somewhere deep down but don't like or don't know how to get. For example, Aries people usually bring out the more competitive side in me which my Libra Sun rebels at since I prefer harmony over fighting it out. At the same time though I do recognize a small part of myself would prefer to be a little more of a fighter that way so it's just uncomfortable sometimes. SaturnineMothPisces Dsc - we make great friends I have many midpoints there, especially important are my Moon-Venus and Sun-Moon midpoint. And, I have Scorpio, Capricorn, and late Sagittarius placements that could make nice sxt/tri to their Pisces placements in my experience --- no... I can't see myself with a Pisces/Neptunian male, at least. --------------------------Solar opposite Sun Sign = Cancerthese are my best companions - 11h Cancer w/ Moon in Taurus 9h So I feel affectionately drawn towards Cancers immediately... we may not always agree or have similar tastes, but we IME have always gotten along amazingly well, solid friendships - that said, romantically --- IME - I cannot see myself with a Cancer male... although I do like men with Cancer Asc (but that would be their Asc/Dsc axis being triggered maybe?) and I happen to love Cancer Mars - (again, just guessing - but this may be because my Mars-Pluto likes the trine energies of Cancer Martians) ------------------More than any of the other supposed placements for relationships I look at the North Node axis and Vertex axis ----- IME --- stressing this is all IME --- nothing works out without my Venus involved somehow... (try to explain)I have Venus cnj SN exact - anything square her (meaning my Pisces Dsc) is earmarked for failure, anything semisquare her even... it's not good to be against Venus for me... it's always better if someone I'm involved with has something positively aspecting her first and foremost. THEN - Vertex... which ties into my Venus by conjunction of Uranus to her... I'm a 5h Cap Sun --- natural solar house, with E.point/Anti-Vertex in Leo (which happens to trine my Venus-Ura)... and Leo rules my 12h (but also touches into 11h of course), with an Aqua Vertex 5h... connections to my NN/SN are always more powerful than any others... and where romance is concerned they are most likely to catch my fancy or vs/vs... and, after this axis the Vertex being triggered, all but guarantees a connection (though not always romantic)! lol So I tend to prefer harmonious romantic connections to those with sun signs (those with placements in them) of people who are Sagittarius, Gemini, Aquarius, and Leos, ( just as importantly, those with Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, and Solar dominance) And, I'd rather have intimate friendships with those who have their suns (placements) in Pisces, Virgo, Cancer, Capricorn (Lunar, Neptunian, Mercurial, Saturnian dominance)... this is how I see it =x lol *weirdgoatcreature*StacyLewisYeah I do, but see, my sun is in that sign too.I typically tend to get along with Aquarius-Leo axis people before anyone else. But see, that axis is *so* emphasized in my chart - my nodes are on that axis too. So I have my ascendant, descendant, south node, sun, mercury and north node, all in those two signs.violet7887Yes, exceptionally well.I am Libra Rising. I get along very well with Aries Suns.Even Aries Moons.inthemisosoupi.personally dont get along too well with Leo's of either gender. they come off as attention grabbing and rather.arrogant to me. and their Sun will often trine my Sun or my other sag planets. maybe it's.my Scorpio planets which can square leo Sun's but i almost always get along with aquas. LazyscarecrowI'm a Sag ascendant.Geminis Suns... well I suppose they are okay, though I have had experiences with Gem females where they were often bullies or just flat out evil towards me in earlier years and the males seem too attention-whorish for me to take seriously for romance. I just don't get Sagittarius Suns. Not as friends, not as lovers, rivals, nothing. I admire some traits (though others I can leave), but on a personal level... we don't click.Funny enough, I can stomach Gemini and Sag in other planets than the Sun.bridgetostars23 quote:Originally posted by downtomars:I once read (I forgot where) that we usually get along with DC sign people of the opposite sex, as we see them as partners, but people of the same sex are more likely to be of the "open enemies" variety. Have had incidents with one of each in the past. Kind of ended up feeling I tried to be something I wasn't. The leo experience was mostly fun the Gemini one was soul crushing! (Possibly because of the Chiron in gemini thang.) Anyway... Nothing in Leo except Vertex. (Envy their confidence, charm.) Only Chiron in Gemini. (Envy their wit, verbal prowess, lightness.) Where is your Venus, ruler of your Dsc? The ruler of your Dsc, and it’s position by house, sign and aspect will contribute to your attraction pattern as well. Other houses associated with romantic attraction are the 5th and the 8th houses… Also by the sign on the cusp AND it’s ruler position by house, sign and aspect. Most people are attracted to a combination of these various 5th, 7th, and 8th house energies in their charts. The Vertex Axis is also very telling along with the asteroid Juno.In my case I’ve got a Sagittarius Asc, with Gemini on the Dsc. Sagittarius people usually attract me more then Gemini, but that’s because Mercury ruling my Dsc is in Sagittarius, and Jupiter is in the 7th house. Juno is in Sagittarius as well. Occasionally I do find myself pulled in by someone with important Gemini planets in line with my Dsc sign… Especially if the person has other placements in their chart that support attraction. The 7th house is who we long to be with and relate to on a daily basis. People who influence our 7th house are like best friends who inspire our affection and make us feel complete. I’m not just talking about the Dsc sign itself… But also the Dsc ruler, and any planets in the7th. People with planets in our 7th house, or ASPECTING the ruler of the 7th tend to inspire feelings of warmth, liking and affection within us. We usually like to just ‘be’ with these people and bask in their energy. Unless the synastry is harsh, in which case we could actually see them as an adversary. It’s always important to take the rest of the synastry into consideration. The 5th house is more about flirting, courtship, and ‘romance‘. The characteristics of our 5th house are what we find exciting during the initial stages of the relationship, what impresses us, and who we ’fall in love’ with. My 5th house cusp is Aries ruled by Mars in Leo, and I’m really attracted to passionate fiery types. Courage, honesty, and a kind of innocent playful spirit really attracts me in that EPIC ’He Could Sweep Me Off My Feet’ type of way. I’m sure there’s a male equivalent to that. Something like ‘She Blew Me Away’. Anyway, my point is that the 5th house rules the RUSH of excitement that we get when we’re really impressed or infatuated by somebody verses the 7th house which is more about loving companionship. The 5th house is associated with the dating phase of the relationship where there is of more an element of risk involved… Will we make it to an exclusive partnership? Will they dump us? Will we dump them? This is the phase of relationship most movies and romance novels are about. It’s about how we experience our personal ’love stories’ in life, before our relationships made it to the exclusive 7th house stage. However, people who have planets in our 5th house or ASPECTING the ruler of the 5th house can give us this type of feeling over long periods of time, like it’s part of the relationship. The 8th house has to do with intimacy. Where we share our secrets and become financially, emotionally and sexually entwined with another. This is usually after an exclusive relationship has been established. The 8th house of private intimacy comes after the 7th house of marriage. We go through a courtship, establish a committed relationship, and then combine our lives with that other person. The 8th house it where me merge ourselves with a chosen partner. I’ve got Cancer on the 8th house cusp, ruled by the Moon also in Cancer in the 8th house. I’m often attracted to those with Scorpio and Cancer placements in their charts along with a Fire or Air Sun, Cancer and Scorpio Moons seem to especially appeal to me. People who have planets in our 8th house or ASPECTING the 8th house ruler can often attract us in a magnetic kind of way. They intrigue us, and we want to figure them out at the deepest possible level. To know everything about them and get inside them so to speak. It’s almost like we’re pulled toward them by an invisible force. The 8th house has a lot to do with sexual attraction, and private sharing between partners. Of course, we have to be flexible with how we interpret things. Not all people who aspect our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses are going to be our romantic partners. Our 5th house can also be just about our kids and who we adore, admire, and find entertaining on a platonic level. The 7th house might just refer to our best friend. And the 8th house could just be our therapist, of the person we confide in about personal issues… We may not ALWAYS be romantically attracted to people who influence our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses. But when we are attracted the person in question will almost certainly influence our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses. What the 5th, 7th, and 8th house related synastry does, is open up the possibility that we’ll see that person in a romantic light. And if we then also have other factors that contribute to physical attraction in synastry, like a steamy Moon/Mars aspect, a full blown ’falling in love’ type situation can arise. What I’ve noticed, is that our romantic partner’s usually do have natal charts that resemble a combination of our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, along with the Vertex Axis and Juno. The most potent romantic attractions we’ll experience come from a combination of things in synastry. It’s sort of a balancing act between having physical attraction aspects like Mars/Venus, and Sun/Moon with somebody… And having them also activate our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses… By the partner aspecting the house cusp ruler, the partner having planets actually in the house in question, or though the partner having a natal chart that symbolically resembles the house in question (For example, Jupiter in the 7th house attracts partner with Jupiter conjunct Sun, or planets in Sagittarius). Physical attaction synastry + 5th, 7th, and 8th house activation in syanstry = strong romantic attractions.
