T O P I C R E V I E WswampysSouth Node in Gemini? What's the difference between South Node and North Node? And why is there more information on North Node? Why isn't South Node as important?calliope23I have very limited knowledge of the North and South nodes, but from what I have gathered they are much more important to Karmic Astrology than to natal. That's not to say they can't be interpreted in your natal chart though. The South Node represents lessons we have learned in the past, or in past lives, and areas in which we are comfortable. Basically these are lessons or experiences that now come naturally to us/are inherent habits, so they're those which we tend to fall back on or dwell in because it's easy--this is where the North Node enters. Where we have already learned to integrate elements of the SN in our personalities, the NN represents our "karmic lessons" for this lifetime. They're areas totally out of our comfort zone that we must learn to reconcile with and master/lay to rest if we are to grow spiritually and pay off karmic debts. We need to consciously work on the areas our NN signifies if we want to be fulfilled and successful in this lifetime. If your NN is in Gemini, then your SN is in Sag. The house placements also matter and can tell you a little bit more about what specific mundane areas the attributes of each of these signs have dealt with (I *think* nodes are always in the houses the specific sign in linked with, but I'm not 100% on this). A Sag SN might point to having been a seeker of intellectual and spiritual "truth" in a past life in order to form a firm basis for what "reality" or "existence" might mean to you--oftentimes the Sag SN is associated with people who were scholars, nuns, monks, etc. in the past life. Depending on the house placement (again, unsure if Sag SN will always be in 10H), you can read more into the profession or more intricate details of the type of truth that was being sought after. Sag SN will have laid the theoretical groundwork for a spiritual belief system, but may not have put it into any practical/readily applicable system. NN indicates areas in this lifetime you fear or want to avoid/reject based on feeling okay with what your SN has accomplished, and Gemini NN would be indicative of learning to communicate with and listen to others cooperatively instead of just running rampant over their contributions and seeing your way as the only AND right way--basically, putting that theoretical framework you worked so hard for in a past life into a practical application in this lifetime and fine-tuning it through interaction/cooperation. Learning to slow your roll and *exchange* ideas with other--learning to have reciprocal relationships and communications; being sensitive to social etiquette and interactions--is a big part of your lesson in this lifetime.calliope23Whoops! mixed up your nodes! You can easily flip what I have said about the Nodes to apply to you though. http://theastrologyplace.blogspot.com/2012/03/south-node-gemini-north-node.html venuasianmanbut what if past lives don't exist. Then what you say is arbitrary. calliope23 quote:Originally posted by venuasianman:but what if past lives don't exist. Then what you say is arbitrary. I guess it's a matter of personal belief Regardless, the nodes are usually associated with past/present, and what we have already integrated and learned versus what we must work on now. If you aren't into past lives or karmic debts, then the nodes might simply mean more to you in the sense of "where I am most uncomfortable and comfortable expressing myself", and then using that binary to work on honing your NN weaknesses. For example, my NN is in Aries, meaning my Libra SN makes me more apt to rely on the opinions or beliefs of others and acquiescing to their immediate needs rather than asserting my own, simply for the sake of "balance" and harmony. My Aries NN indicates a need to work on trusting my own instincts more and being brave in going after my own dreams and aspirations without constantly second-guessing myself and my abilities...not relying on the affirmation of others to believe my goals are valid or viable...caring less about social balance and pioneering toward what it is that will make me fulfilled.venuasianmanvery cool12thhouser quote:Originally posted by venuasianman:but what if past lives don't exist. I most def know this is going to be a spiritual journey with this placement. I was thinking that this could also amplify telepathic abilities along with my grand water trine with moon/mars/pluto but that isn't for this post.I think the south node is a hidden blessing to show us how to get to our ideal selves. Which for me, I am not all too sure about due to the fact that I have a Sag NN and a Leo midheaven. All I can get out of that is some kind of free-lance leadership.. but that has nothing to do with right now. Anyways, I think the South Node is significant because it provides us all of our bad habits while also showing us the way we can overcome them.------------------Scorpio RisingScorpio Sun (in Pisces Decan)Pisces Moon (in Scorpio Decan) (The Irony!)
