Kerosene | & placements. I've been thinking that I would love to be an art professor, specifically painting. I just love helping people. When people come to me for advice or help, I go out of my way and I just love it. I love encouraging people and seeing burst of motivation. I tend to be really honest and I think others appreciate that too, because thats how they improve themselves. Extra income also sounds nice, but I just want to know if I would genuinely good at it. I have to be perfect in everything I do, I can't half ass anything. I hate when teachers are not enthusiastic about their jobs either. I don't want to waste my time either if I won't end up liking it. I have jupiter in fall in virgo but jupiter aspects all my personal planets in gemini and my asc.

StarlightSmileSupreme | You would be sooooo good at that! |
Doux Rêve | Sounds like a very good idea And Jupiter is definitely a major planet when it comes to teaching.. & Sagittarius influence. Even Gemini, actually! I know you're heavily Gemini so with a prominent Jupiter, I'd say go for it. |
Kerosene | My mom has been encouraging me also, she was a principle for a while. She actually suggested it and It really did sink in with me. When I was little kid I played classroom, and of course I would be the teacher to my many stuffed animals.... THOU I would yell and beat some of the misbehaving ones.... It use to get intense, damn.. I use to make up tests too in a weird scribble language thats was based of my mothers cursive. Who else use to do crap like that? |
Doux Rêve | Ahaha! Fun times.. I actually used to play the teacher, too, sometimes! And many people have told me I'd make a great teacher because I explain well, am patient and well.. smart I have Jupiter in the 6th, conjunct Venus. Gemini ASC and Sag NN. But at this point I don't feel like it's what I want to do. Who knows, maybe later on I'll teach something.. to someone.. willing to listen
|
Kerosene | maybe you can teach astrology or have workshops? It would not be that ambitious and I think teaching is a great way of learning too |
Doux Rêve | ^I've been thinking about it! Agree with you, teaching is actually a very good way of learning, too.For now, I'm too busy with my studies/figuring out what I want, but if I get the chance, I may do that. Sounds very cool. |

Maybe you could start out teaching art at night school. Most school districts allow you to teach a night school course without a teaching certificate. I took an art class once at night school. That would let you see if you like it or not. Not sure why but when I think of teachers I think of Saggitarius. ------------------ Aries ASC Aquarius Sun Moon in Cancer in 4th house. Mercury and Saturn in mutual reception. Venus Conj. MC |
PixieJane | Sags often make wonderful teachers (though sometimes so focused on 1 or 2 subjects as to be the wrong person to go to outside their expertise). My partner is a Sag history teacher (who had a calling for it, but hates the system as it interferes with her ability to actually teach history). Community and junior colleges seem easy enough to get a teaching position at with minimal complications (and unlike compulsory schooling everyone there probably wants to be), at least in terms of qualifications needed for teaching a subject. Though hopefully a desire to have power over others isn't what "calls" you teach and you no longer fantasize about berating those in your class. |
Jazabel | Great choice |
Orange | I loved to paint as a kid. I'd draw mostly houses and people. My art teacher in school helped me a lot and I'm still grateful for his guidance and support. I went on to study Architecture in the University and Art was and still is a huge part of my life. I still keep in contact with my Art teacher. He's always been proud of me. Great profession. |

Once I graduate and start working I'll focus on my teaching degree. That would probably be in 4 or 5 years. I'm still ambitious (saturn conjunct mc) and want lots of money Gemini is the pupil and sag is the guru, honestly I love being in a classroom environment. If I'm not teaching I see myself studying and getting a PhD. |

Lucky I wish I had an art professor like that... I always felt like they underestimated me, or they always over look me . During My painting 2 final my professor said I was blessed by the art gods which really made me feel great about myself. My psychology professor and I have a strong connection, he's a sag with moon in gemini. I love his goofy sense of humor. He's the grandpa I never had. |
StelliumH6 | My stellium is in the 6th house. I have Sagittarius Jupiter, Venus, Mars, Neptune, and Mars all conjunct. My ASC is Gemini like Doux. I have been a teacher for 20 years! Loovve my career! Good luck to you! |
Kerosene | I have a gemini asc too.. Interesting! Perhaps sag dsc is an important placement for teacher. My mother who is an educator also has a Gemini asc. Very interesting. |
k e p h x i | Yes! As stated you have a heavy influence of Sag. You are a Jupitarian man. I too want to teach for a living. -Astrology -Psychology -Philosophy -Sociology Sag in 5th House. Sag Venus. Sag Mars. Sag Jupiter. Venus conjunct Jupiter. Mars conjunct Jupiter. ------------------ Rising: Virgo Sun: _____ Moon: _____ |

I used to pretend to be a teacher as well. I didn't beat my stuffed animal students though! :P I was pretty serious about it though. Eventually I began using my brother as a "guinea pig" and created assignments for him. Thought about becoming a teacher professional but decided on art instead. I still love helping and teaching others (on a one-to-one basis though.) Gemini moon Jupiter in Cancer Mars in Sagittarius / 6th House Anyway, good luck to you! |
KarkaQueen | My dad has been a teacher for 19 years, he has Chiron conjunct Pisces Midheaven |
StelliumH6 | My Midheaven is Pisces as well! I think we are seeing a pattern in this thread. |
calliope23 | I have a Sag stellium in 10H (Mercury[9H], Saturn, MC, Uranus, sun). Mercury is in 9H conjunct Saturn which is directly on my 10H cusp. Pisces ASC. I LOVE education. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and I'm positive that eventually I'll get a PhD. I already have my MA, and I get super geeky into anything that involves a philosophical approach to a topic. I think this is super evident in my interest in astrology: I think of charts as puzzles to delve into and analyze. I love bringing all sorts of disparate aspects and ideas and pieces of information into one compendious "whole" of a person, and astrology feels very much like reading a book and extracting ideological undertones from the field of study. I think that Merc conj. Saturn is also a "teacher" placement, personally. It gives the native the ability to "see something in its completed form when it's still an abstract idea"--I think this an integral characteristic for educators to have. I think the Saturn conjunction also grounds Mercury's chatterbox effusion of the themes linked with the sign it's in with an ability for depth of concentration and practical application of those ideas. Mercury in 9H....well, just duh. Haha. |
