CapricornDog | I notice so many people in the astrology community say things like "I love Scorpio men they are so sexy!" or "I love Pisces men they are just the sweetest and romantic!". Even more so I see lots of people literally purchasing synastry reports before they actually even befriend a person to see if they should pursue a relationship! Its gotten to the point some people would not consider a relationship at all if the other person does not fit their ideal person astrologically (like they don't have compatible Sun Signs and Moon Signs). I literally read of incidents in which people choose one person merely because their charts match their favorite signs or their ideal synastry over people who may not fit specific signs or match in the synastry calculators but actually are really do embody that specific sign by personality! Before anyone bash me as ignorant, I know the rest of the chart matters. A Sagittarius with a Moon in Pisces and a Capricorn with a Moon in Cancer have a far better chance that a Sagittarius with a Moon in Libra and a Leo with a Moon in Pisces. Certainly a Scorpio who is a Pisces dominant will be more Piscean than a Pisces who is Leo dominant and anyone familiar with astrology beyond the Sun Signs who loves Pisces would be more inclined to pick the Pisces-dominant Scorpio rather than the Leo-dominant Pisces. But the natal chart (and the signs for that matter) is not a guarantee for a person matching the typical traits of a certain sign. If you known a person for a long time and his personality doesn't match his signs (or chart for the matter) but he really has the traits of a sign you love so much that you'd consider it your ideal spouse for the opposite sex, I would believe you ought to stay away from a bit from astrology for a while if you aren't pursuing that said person simply because his chart does not match yours (despite knowing the person for a while). And if you'd prefer another person you barely know on the basis of birth chart alone over this friend, you ought to have your head examined by a doctor. For example, if the stereotypical Leo girl was my favorite, I would prefer a triple Gemini who's Virgo dominant according to chart but really is truly has the extravagant showy nature of Leo over an triple Leo woman with an Leo dominant chart but is more Capricorn in actual personality. Really I cannot believe people are using astrology to replace their own observation of choosing a partner in a relationship! I understand synastry is useful for pointing out red flags and for learning more about your partners, but lets not replace it with choosing someone based on their actual personalities! I would be far more concerned to see if my partner actually matches traits of a specific sign that I love so much than seeing if their charts confirmed they are that sign (or if it at least has a strong influence in the chart!)!!! |
anonymidarkness | You're back, hah welcome back!! but I agree with you on this. |
Per-Gunnar | If someone choose who they date based on astrology, they are a bit of a nerd lol. Sry. I get along fine with every sign. But I look at my juno for the ideal. If she is sweet, she is awesome! Nothing more complicated than that. |
lulz | i've had people crush on me just coz i'm a taurus. i've had women send me lingerie pics just because of my 1st house mars in scorpio. this was before i got a laptop with a camera so wayyy back. i don't have a strong sign bias in relationships... tho i enjoy taking jabs at taurus moons comparing them to homer simpson! i'm only joking for the most part. i have taurus dsc/ taurus venus. i didn't realize i would be compatible with the taurean nature if lotis hadn't described what a taurus female was like! |

lulz | u know what she was pisces, scorp asc! 1990! |
Jkitty | CapricornDog, I agree with you. I've had the experience of looking at the natal of family members whom I've known all my life only to be shocked. "What! Mom has Mercury conjunct Venus?!!" She had the WORST case of "foot in mouth" I've ever come across in my many years on this planet! AND it made a "lovely trine" to my Sun. But the reality was that she caused some very deep wounds with her tongue. A chart may show potential, but it's still about how a person chooses to use those energies. Give me a real relationship with a real person and let me experience first hand what they've done with the cards they've been dealt astrologically. Then I'll decide. |
lulz | i have merc conj venus. but it's merc in aries opposite pluto too! |
anonymidarkness | ^ I have mercury conj venus too and mercury square pluto . |
Jkitty | Apparently she wasn't using her trine to Saturn; it was overridden by the square from Uranus. Mercury/Venus conjunction SUPPOSEDLY (if you read the cookbooks) gives gracious, charming speech. LOL |
Zander916 | I agree. However, I have noticed, speaking of physical attraction I'm slightly more drawn to Taurus Sun women - USUALLY. Of course all people are individual and most of the time that's the only thing I get to know about them, their Sun sign. Be it just some picture I see online or what have you. The two Libras I had relationships with were close (bossy and mouthy). The two Sags I had relationships with were also similar. (Hot temper and jealous). I don't even know if those are typical traits of those signs, but that's what I experienced. LOL |
lulz | sag with venus in scorp. yep hot temper and jealous. |

In the real world PEOPLE are FLUID and constantly changing. Life experiences like traumatic events can turn a persona ll around. Which is why I almost ended up leaving astrology and hating it after seeing the stupidities of astrology communities including this one. I still remember an argument I got into with Doomlord. He kept insisting stuff like "Libra will always be Libra" even if he spend time with very Aries personalities and becomes more aggressive and Arien as a result. The more I spend time with the athlete jock types the more aggressive I became recently and that's when I began to wonder about the BS claims of synastry and compatibility............. Nevermind the fact we aren't even practicising real astrology on this site and the internet............ |

Odette | Well it's about degrees, not just signs. The signs matching is not a guarantee, but if both the signs and the degrees match at a Sun/Moon/AC level and you throw in some Saturn (again at exact degrees) - then it's pretty sure you'll have some sort of ongoing long rel with that person if you do meet. If the degrees are off - it's not so karmic. |
Odette | And people are not fluid and constantly changing. Period. And Good Bye. |
Odette | Ok I have to go for a third post because what you are saying is too off. Most people on this site and others I've seen on other astro sites and astrology enthusiasts in RL - usually (like 99% of the time) meet someone new - go gaga over them and then check the synastry to see how they match. They don't find out the sign of the person before they fall for them. |

I agree with this. My approach would be to first see if you have chemistry, and resonate with someone, and THEN to check their chart. That being said I've never had an attraction or affinity with someone that didn't show astrologically. |

Not always so cut and dry though... I agree that choosing a mate , based on Sun sign alone, is ridiculous. I find that I often avoid certain people, but that is rather based on their personality than their Sun signs. I have a Sun/Moon/Venus/Mars stellium in Pisces friend who is very outspoken and quite aggressive. I think my Sun-Jupiter-Uranus-Neptune stellium in Sagittarius can sometimes find it difficult to be around him for long. This despite having Moon signs in Cancer(Me) and Pisces(Him), Venus in Scorpio(Me) and Venus in Pisces(Him). Sometimes its not so cut and dry as the sign positions(even when nicely aspected) do not always guarantee compatibility. |
lessica | I completely agree. If anything we should count our selves lucky that we can refer to our charts to strengthen the weaknesses between each other. |

It's interesting to me he displays the less desirable traits of your Sag Sun, ASCT. Furthermore that you're sensitive to it like his Pisces Sun should be. That's all... *bows and walks backwards out of the conversation.*

No, come back, come back...lol
Maybe he is sensitive to me too. He just hasn't communicated such. I find him so abrasive though. I suspect that he could have an agressive Asc or something. For a Sag Sun, I'm a different ball gtame altogether. I'm super sensitive to people's vibes and often will just disappear out of a person's life if I just can't bear to be around them anymore.

I think Pisces and Sags are verrrry similar in behavior. Sags and Aquarius' are like twin best friends but it's Pisces and Sags are mirrors of each other I think. |

Sags and Aquarius' are like twin best friends but it's Pisces and Sags are mirrors of each other I think. Really? U think that Sag and Pisces are similar? It could be because of the shared rulership thing(Jupiter). But , at times, when I'm with some Pisces(incl the one mentioned), I feel like I am swimming in "uncharted" waters-strangely perculiar. Though my sun interacts with Neptune-by conjunction. I still think Pisces are a bit of a mystery. I get on quite well with Aquarius though. In this regard, you are absolutely correct/ We have our "moments"-especially when they pull the "detached" thing, but yeah, all in all it's good. |
StarlightSmileSupreme | From my experience, Pisces are a bit more complicated than Sag, and more emotional. They take things a bit more personally and when they feel uncomfortable, they often withdraw physically or mentally. They are moodier, too. There are similarities, both are mutable and ruled by Jupiter and mutable understands other mutables so there can be compromise between two mutable placements due to this insight into each other. |
