T O P I C R E V I E WAquacheekaWhat is the orb allowance for a conjunction in synastry? Do people still use the 3 degree rule when it's a conjunction?Kerosene3 degrees only...?Who comes up with this bullocks. JkittyThose that are 3 degrees or less have the most impact, but people often go up to as much as 6 degrees for the conjunction, especially if it includes a luminary or a personal planet. I like to prioritize the aspects and look to the tightest ones first, moderate ones next and the looser ones last (if at all). If the relationship is close (like sharing space on a daily basis close) and/or lasts many years, you will probably feel the looser orbs eventually. The tighter ones though will impact even a short or more casual relationship.vickymadnessI had a conjunction in syanstry with 9 orbs, and it still applied. We both felt it. But the planets engaged were personal.Kerosene^Too bad most astrologers would say you are delusional.vickymadnessYeah like I give a damn about their rigid opinions.StarlightSmileSupremeSun and moon ten degrees why not?JkittyIf it is a conjunction between personal planets and in the same sign, I think you can "feel" it with a very wide orb, but I think you're actually feeling the affinity of the sign placement rather than the conjunction. slowpokeI have heard about 10 degree orbs. It seems as though people see that they have a desired aspect, but the orb is wide, so in order to have the aspect fit, a wider orb is accepted. If one is sensitive to the influences, they can feel the kick of orbs 5 degrees and less. And with exact orbs, the impact of the influences can be strongly felt. There may be an easier way to read and understand complicated Synastry pie chart aspects. Pie chart aspects can also be produced onto a basic Synastry Aspect Chart. Review the sample chart at your leisure. It may help you gain even more insight than you currently have. http://risingpeople.wix.com/synastry-aspecting Slowpoke XenaWhat about the orbs for sextile and trine. slowpokeI have never heard of orbs for sextile and trine being effective past 5 degrees. As far as experiencing there influences in real life, you have to be looking for them before you can even get a hint that they are in action. Because they tend to have you wondering in this manner - "I'm never really sure." sextile or trine or neither. An exact trine is even hard to pinpoint real time influence occurrences. But seeing its accumulative affect can be appreciated in a broader way.You can find out about more aspect orbs here, http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/214576.html slowpokeLiliyaSlowpoke, thanks a mill for the link, very explanatory. Could you comment about Quintile?I have a few of them in Synastry CeridwenHey why not 15 or 20 degrees? If it is felt, it is felt, right? EDIT:And not just for conjunctions, don`t forget about the oppositions, trines, squares, sextile, quinkunxes, semisextiles, semisquares, sesisquares, quintiles, biquintiles, noviles, binoviles, trinoviles, septiles, biseptiles, triseptiles either.why should we use an orb at all?Ceridwen quote:Originally posted by Jkitty:If it is a conjunction between personal planets and in the same sign, I think you can "feel" it with a very wide orb, but I think you're actually feeling the affinity of the sign placement rather than the conjunction. slowpokeHi Liliya,The Quintile (150) is a very common aspect occurance in Synastry aspects as are the (Semi-Sextiles (30), Semi-Square (45) and, Sesquisquare (135)).You can find out about more aspect orbs and their influences here, http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/214576.html slowpokeJkitty quote:Originally posted by slowpoke:Hi Liliya,The Quintile (150) is a very common aspect occurance in Synastry aspects as are the (Semi-Sextiles (30), Semi-Square (45) and, Sesquisquare (135)).You can find out about more aspect orbs and their influences here, http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/214576.html slowpokeI believe the quintile was 72 degrees and the quincunx was 150.Aquacheeka quote:Originally posted by Ceridwen:Hey why not 15 or 20 degrees? If it is felt, it is felt, right?
