T O P I C R E V I E WlwandersI'm fairly new to astrology, and a little bewildered when it comes to hard aspects in synastry readings. Do these aspects ever indicate harmony and ease? Or is it more a sense of compulsive attraction through opposition? Or is it often just indicating plain ol' conflict? Or sometimes one, and sometimes the other? And why??? XenaYou need hard aspects to keep things interesting. Too good synastry can sometimes be too boring. Hard aspects aren't that bad. They just require maturity. Hard aspects between saturn and moon , venus and mars can be karmic and together with venus or mars to uranus are found in many long term married couples. As hard as they are they teach you something (especially saturn). lwandersHmmm... thanks Xena. Can we look at a few examples to help me get a better understanding? How about a Venus square Neptune? Or a Moon square Neptune? Saturn opposition Venus? Sun opposition Chiron???next to neptune quote:Originally posted by lwanders:Hmmm... thanks Xena. Can we look at a few examples to help me get a better understanding? How about a Venus square Neptune? Or a Moon square Neptune? Saturn opposition Venus? Sun opposition Chiron???Well, from my own personal opinion and experience I think the worst aspects in synastry is the personal planets between neptune, for an example neptune square sun, moon or venus and uranus square moon or venus. The neptune thing is really hard, cause you feel very much in love but disappointed at the same time when you find out that you was putting your loved one on a pedestal they couldn't live up to.Uranus squares are making excitement, but unstability. You need to give maximum freedom, but risk that your partner will move away from you, or the love between you will become too distant. Either emotionally or real distance. And pluto in hard aspects to the personal planets can make the relationship a real HELL, just saying. With jealousy, power-struggle, too much intensity and so on. A real drama, like in a bad movie. But it's also about what is in your own natal chart. If you have problems with uranus in your own chart for an example, I have a theory that hard uranus-aspects in a synastry too is too much to handle. Cause you will be a bit distant yourself, and then you might need a partner that can stabilize you, and it won't be with uranus squaring the personal planets. If you have an already troubled chart it's really difficult if you also have a bad aspect between moon-mars, and in your natal chart you have a tendency to act before you think. Cause this aspect will do exactly like this. And it can be very hurting. I think these aspects can end up in a break-up, you could of course still have many fine years together, but eventually it will get too much.Hard saturn aspects can be challenging but will keep you together through it all (or it might if you work on it)And jupiter hard aspects are just making you have warm feelings, but likes to tease and show it that way. Hope this helps, I'm not a totally new-beginner, but astrology takes almost a life-time to be professional at!AriesLilithTry not to see hard aspects as doom and gloom. Think about how relationships are in the real life - there are incompatibilities that are easier, and there are ones that are harder... And then it also depends on how each of us deal with conflicts as individuals or together... Then while some conflicts are harder for some couple, for others it might not be a big deal... Then you have people who can stand conflicts, and some people who gets stressed by the slightest stress...Thing is, you might find a major hard aspect or two in great synastries; or a synastry might actually suck. But with enough maturity and willingness, people learn to deal with things together, and work like a team.Yes, that Saturn oppose Mars or Venus square Neptune might not be easy cake, but hey, adults learn to understand each other's difference, and overcoming things together strengthens the bond. LiliyaYou need hard aspects, without them relationship is like brother and sister or fiernds lalalindaHello lwanders!
