T O P I C R E V I E WLeeLoo2014Do you ever consider Sun/Moon midpoint and Venus/Mars midpoint and other significant midpoints between charts?ex. Man's Sun to woman's Moon midpointWoman's Venus to man's Mars midpointOrangeI do, if the midpoints are conjunct, opposite or square. what affects one, affects the other too - like transits, for example. LeeLoo2014Thanks, Orange, great info!...but what I meant is the midpoint between Man's Sun and woman's Moon, for instance, or viceversa. Also, the midpoint between man's Mars and woman's Venus and viceversa.Ceridwenyes, of course. That is such a biggie! And Orange, Ceridwen quote:Originally posted by LeeLoo2014:Thanks, Orange, great info!...but what I meant is the midpoint between Man's Sun and woman's Moon, for instance, or viceversa. I like that!So it's called "mixed midpoint", I didn't know that, thanks Ceri, I knew I could count on you In my synastry they are not connected as described in the article, but I've discovered there are planets on all four mixed midpoints ( mutual Sun/Moon, mutual Venus/Mars).And his Sun/my Moon midpoint is the same as his Venus/my Mars midpoint, falling on the major axis of the synastry chart (the Kite opposition). So there must be something with the mixed midpoints too.mirAhh my favorite article Ceri! That's where I all got it from (took a while to fully absorb haha)So yea..I look at "mixed midpoint alignments" (so not just one way), like..the midpoint of his Sun to her Moonthe midpoint of her Sun to his MoonSo.. I only consider it significant when both ^^ midpoints are conjunct/opp! (which has the effect of a "same phase angle").In synastry this Always contains 2 pairs of the same planets with the same angle. Or to put it a la Cochrane (from the article); quote: A Mixed Midpoint alignment occurs only if the following also occurs: Mixed Midpt: SuA-MoA = SuB-MoB, SuA-SuB = MoA-MoBIn other words, in the Mixed Midpoint alignment, the Sun-Moon angle in his chart is the same as the Sun-Moon angle in her chart, and unlike the composite chart alignment, the planets are in the same phase, i.e.both are waxing, or both are waning. Also the angle of his Sun to her Sun is the same as the angle of his Moon to her Moon, which also occurs in the Midpt-toMidpt alignment.LeeLoo2014I think there's more to midpoints than just Sun/Moon and hard aspects. It depends on the charts, and we can play with them accordingly. For example, my most important midpoint is Sun/Venus: the release point of my Yod, opposite the handle of my bucket (a Fan actually); this handle (Jupiter) is connected to all the planets in my chart. So Jupiter/SunVenusmidpoint is my axis. Therefore, I pay more attention to this midpoint in relationship comparisons or transits than to Sun/Moon.My "crush"s most important midpoint is Mars/Saturn,MC,SN midpoint, meant to activate the whole chart (perfect Grand Cross with angles), inactive due to interception, activated by this year's progression by a perfect Mars Saturn conjunction at 0 deg. Cancer. So I'd look to this midpoint first.CeridwenI actually agree - to a degree. Like so often. While the Sun/Moon-mp is ALWAYS vital to check, there are of course other important midpoints, and these are, like you put it, dependent on each natal chart of course. For example my Mars/Neptune-mp is definitely a biggie, being so exactly conjunct my ASC. This might not e the same for everyone else. my Venus/Pluto-mp is, too, especially all midpoints of planets that are in a strong aspect pattern are. Most definitely my Moon/Saturn is, too. on 2 Taurus, RIGHT on my 5th house cusp and opposite my Uranus (Uranus being dispositor of my Moon, Saturn quinkunx Moon exact). my Mars/Saturn one is vital, too, probably not the easiest one to have, but it is on 26 Virgo EXACTLY squaring my Sun.Or how about my Jupiter/Neptune-mp?While so often this could be generational, in my case it is emphasized on so many levels. Being square each other. in mutual reception. Jupiter ruling my ASC, Neptune sitting ON the ASC. Jupiter dispositing my NN, Neptune sitting on it. Of course that means that Jupiter/NN-mp is right there, too. Also my Jupiter/NN and Jupiter/Neptune coincides with my Moon/Venus, which is interesting. there is nothing tightly conj, opp or square this one (though of course Jupiter, Neptune and NN are semisquare), so it is lying a bit dormant, until someone comes to activate it. Which Patrick`s Venus did very effectively so. I wouldn`t probably pay so much attention to everyone`s Jupiter/Neptune-mp by default, but I do so in my chart, because of the way its structured.
