theunknown | I've been thinking about the Mars in Cancer around me and they all have somewhat conflicting relationships with women, especially their mother. Then I learn d that many mars in capricorn has conflicting relationship with parents and eventually learn to be their own parents. This is the case for me but Chelsea Handler is another example. I don't have a study. Just conjecturing. I know a Mars in gem with conflicting relationship with sibling. Thoughts? EDIT: I got some of my conclusions watching these videos: Mars in Sag: Vitality of success lies in seeing others' point of view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3QWQBkMWaE&index=19&list=PLH3ur9v3BFPdIb7dr1zMzCTsLtiJpOke6 Mars in Capricorn Learn how to harness power with your own parents or dealing with parental issues learn how to deal with authorities https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgOPfRLwcCg&list=PLH3ur9v3BFPdIb7dr1zMzCTsLtiJpOke6&index=20 |
Sagical | "Mars in Capricorn has conflicting relationships with their parents and eventually learn to be their own parent." I have this placement and this resonates with me deeply. I rapidly grew up at the age of 8. |

PixieJane | Maybe it's because the mars is in a cardinal sign? That is the self-starting and and assertiveness of the cardinal energy (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) mixes with the passion and assertiveness of Mars which could make it easy for a kid to conflict with elders (which naturally will most likely be the parents, particularly the mother) who have their own ideas on what the kids should be doing. That said, I've faced more resistance from my Mars in Leo boy than Mars in Libra girl...though the girl has a will of iron that I don't think the boy can match...at least not yet anyway. And I get along with both, but then outside a few clearly defined boundaries they have plenty of room to be (and become) who they want to be. The Mars in Libra girl can be exceedingly harsh to the memory of her father but he sounds as if he was a cold and somewhat totalitarian type figure (and not just from her) and Libra isn't going to put up with that. As for me I grew up fast as well but because I had to. My Sag Mars was pretty flexible and easygoing for the most part and I tried to please the adults I respected (without being slavish about it) while ignoring the adults I didn't (which were legion) as much as I could. |

Definitely works for me too. |
Koniucha | I have mars in sag, but it is in My 12th house. I have a hard time asserting myself. Sag mars also makes me impatient. |
Blind writer | Cap MARS here. Had no issues with parents, and my mom is more than my mom - she's my friend. I had a loving childhood. My mom has Gem MARS. She has no issues with her siblings, either. She'll chat with either one of them endlessly on the phone, and loves visiting. If anything, I just get frustrated at her short and unpredictable bursts of productivity, whereas I'm looking for solid and consistent results (we are business partners). Cap MARS (or any planet, really) also shines best after the first SATURN return. We both have 11H MARS placement, so there is a resonance. I think the house matters just as much as the sign when trying to decipher how MARS manifests. |

hearttreasure | My brother has Mars in Cancer, he is closed to my Mother who has Mars in Cancer too. He once admits that he likes having sisters more than having brothers. My sister has Mars in Gemini. Well, I can sense how competitive she is with me and sometimes I do have some conflict with her due to her harsh comment that I can not tolerate. I have Mars in Sagittarius. quote: Originally posted by Koniucha: I have mars in sag, but it is in My 12th house. I have a hard time asserting myself. Sag mars also makes me impatient.
I have it too!! And sometimes I feel my mars energy is more into having lots of fun and learning. Sometimes I feel passive too, not having too much energy to get things done. lol. |

My Mars in Cap son and I grew up together, so he is definitely like a much younger brother to me. He is very responsible about his activities and education, not so much hygiene (that's when I get involved). So yes, in many ways he's his own parent. I'm not saying it's the best or even the same as my relationships with my other children, but that's what it is, and we enjoy it. Mars in Gem, that's me. In my teens and 20s I was considered a tyrant by my siblings. They hated getting in fights with me and would just sit quietly while I went off. Later they'd talk about how crazy I was behind my back. Yeah, we had problems. After I grew up and let go, things got much better. We really enjoy each other's company and openly express love for each other. We've learned to stay close and help and support one another, rather than tear each other down. |
Barbiegirl19 | Mars in Cancer. My early to late teen years were the worst for me with my mom, family in general. As I've gotten older I've learned to let a lot go instead of feeding into crap. I was quite mouthy and spoke what was on my mind (still do). My mom's a Taurus with Scorpio Moon so...yeah.. LOL. It'd be hard for anyone not to speak their mind living with that. I get along with women. Have always had more friends that were guys but have many girl friends. I don't hate women just get guys more. I am a masculine cardinal Sun, Moon, Mercury and Asc after all. My chart is practically all cardinal. |

Mars in Cap. This resonates with me too. Doesn't help that my Mars is in the 4th house and I've read this can lead to conflicts with the mother in particular. I have a good relationship with my mom (and dad) but it's very much a child-parent relationship. My mom and I do get into some heated arguments because we butt heads on some issues. I wouldn't necessarily call either of them my "friend" and a lot of what goes on in my personal life is still kept private (always has). I realized very early that my parents are human just like everyone else and so I never looked up to them in the traditional sense. I feel I learned a lot of life's lessons on my own since I didn't consult them on much and am so private.

DeepFreeze | My family mars signs. Siblings Virgo (me) Leo Scorpio Parents Aquarius Gemini Lots of rebellion and squabbles in our youth. The Leo mars sibling has always been the black sheep of the family. Even still, though now it's more just a vibe. We all love each other. I've always been very close to my mother and never had too many problems. (Aquarius mars) My dad (Gemini mars) I always had trouble getting on the same page with but in his last few years we really had a great relationship. Similar for my sisters. To this day I remain closest to the Scorpio mars sister and my aqua Mars mom. |
Sagical | My oldest daughter has Mars in Cancer, along with her Moon, Venus and Jupiter. The Mars Mars opposition is intense. She can get highly uncooperative and belligerent towards me. Highly sensitive and a major Daddy's girl. He has Mars in Leo, along with his Mercury and Sun. Mercury Mars conjunction give an extremely verbally dominating person who believes he is the authority of everything etc..... My youngest has Mars in Gemini and she is active, creative and brilliant. She is a major Mommy's girl. Her father has Mars in Sagittarius along with his Venus, Jupiter and Neptune. My late adoptive mom and dad had Mars in Aquarius and Mars in Sagittarius. We got along wonderfully. The birth parents had Mars in Scorpio And Mars in Leo. |
theunknown | Sorry, couldn't respond earlier. Exam period. But I updated my first post with some videos. |
Aries23Degrees | My Sister has Mars in Gemini in the 11th. And most of the conflicts that she has is with her friends. She really goes "all out" for friendships and the related associations. My Mother has Mars in Cancer. She was very close to her Mother(Pisces Sun). So i think the conflicts she had there was with regards to the usual mother/daughter relations. Nothing that had caused a "I never want to see you again". But I suspect that my Mom has Mars in 10th. Most of the conflict I think she experiences is work/career related. That is where most of her energies go. I think I get the gist of what you are saying though. The area of life where one shows the most initiative/is most involved in is also the area of most conflicts and things falling apart(Mars). Soby sign this would mean that Gemini has problems with siblings(Merc), Cancer with the domestic environment/mother(Moon), Sagittarius with religion/foreigners (Jupiter) etc. Just to add on, I have Mars in Libra and sometimes when I do my best to help out/salvage something,it turns out that I make it worse I learned that lesson again today and will learn to mind my own business and empathize from a distance from here on. |

Odette | My Mars is in Cap. I don't have a conflictual relationship with either of my parents or anyone in my family - or with authority figures. So it doesn't work for me. I'm more likely to enter conflicts and become argumentative with acquaintances rather than anyone I'm close to or work with. Maybe it's because my 11th cusp is Aries and my Aries Sun is in this house. |
madgoulding | Mars in cap here. I was very reliant on my parents as a child and when my parents would argue and my relationship with my mom went south, I learned to be self reliant basically become my own parent. I have Mars conjunct my ic too. I don't tell my parents about my friends or my relationships. It's a very cold relationship. The only authority figure I get along with are teachers. I never got along with my managers, I hated how they talked down to me. I easily saw the flaws in them, they were often too neurotic about meeting other people's standards and disrespected me. I never responded well to that so I always had a problem with them And Mars Aquarius, love them but they are definetly the weirdos of the family. My little two year old brother who has sun and Mars in Aqua pretends to fall asleep on the kitchen floor whenever he's bored and has no one to play with. |

That's brilliant for a 2 yr old! Instead of crying or whining and making everyone run in the opposite direction he's drawing them in by amusing them and making them curious...or is he doing it just to comfort himself? Still really sharp I think. Luv it!
