T O P I C R E V I E Waleenaxo....PixieJaneI've seen this, too. Plenty of astrology books point out different manifestations which sometimes are interesting direct opposites of each other, and other times just the traits expressed in either healthy or unhealthy ways. I like this quote from Perks of Being a Wallflower: "My doctor said we can't choose where we come from but we can choose where we go from there. I know it's not all the answers but it was enough to start putting these pieces together."Astrology is the energy we're born with, the hand we're dealt, but how that energy is nurtured by others (and life) and how we play that hand is up to free will. Like a Libra I've shared about before...he was once a fairly typical Libra but a lifetime of beatings and abuse, particularly because his Libra traits were seen as "gay," changed him. He still loved harmony, fairness, beauty, and the like but he did so in private (though he told me he'll never wear pink again, it just brings back too many painful memories). Had he grown up in a better family he'd be a very different person today though the core traits are still there, they just manifest differently adapted to his environment and to the choices he felt he could live with.I know a Capricorn that's similar, but that's too depressing to talk about. Scorpios...I don't doubt that had my mom been spared a series of life shaping events that she'd be a different Scorpio today, though she'd still have the Scorpio and Leonine with Gemini & Pisces traits that define her though in some ways she'd be the opposite had she grown up in a more wholesome (not to be confused with religious as she was raised with way too much religion but too little integrity) that she'd be the friend (maybe even detective or lawyer!) people went to and she'd use her astrological traits for good instead of evil, so she'd still be who she was born but it would manifest in a healthier way. And if Mom could ever find the inspiration to face the pain in her and the strength to forgive I think she could still become a Phoenix (like another Scorpio I know but her story is too complex to share and I'm not sure she'd appreciate my sharing anyway). PixieJaneI've often wondered about what I'd be like today had I'd been allowed to live with my granny as I wanted as a child...my life and who I am would be different, I'd have very little to do with computers and I wouldn't be into astrology. I'd still have the traits that define me, however, I'd just find different ways to express them. And had I instead been born to a good family in Japan (but otherwise the same exact natal chart) I could see myself as say President of the Kendo Club in high school (rather than the juvie I was in the USA who mastered a skateboard instead of a katana) who chose my words more carefully to grow up to not only advance in kendo but also many other less known arts (how to get the plants just right, fish just right, and many other artistic pursuits which would shape how my energy expressed itself just as my radically different upbringing did) who probably practiced both Zen and Shinto, but the Libra & Sag with Scorpio would still be evident, and I bet I'd still have an Aquarius with Pisces stellium as a BFF today. And I doubt I'd be alive today if I'd instead been born in Iran as my traits manifesting themselves would not be tolerated even in a male, let alone a female...or if I was (brutalized into silence like say that Libran I mentioned), I'd probably be an angry (and violent) Communist in the underground (seeing Communism in a very different light than I do as myself in the life I was born into), or maybe I'd be so depressed I was catatonic or suicidal, or maybe I'd flee the land (if I could) doing so in a way that expressed my chart. And so on.PixieJaneBtw, check out how I answered this thread:When you think of a GEM-sun SAG- moon LEO-rising woman what comes to mind??aleenaxo....GemBird82(...)~ Aww ! - Now, this is a very awesome thread. ~ Oh My...why aren't there more of these?'Scorned threads' are kind of tiring. PixieJaneTo me, Saturn is someone who can reward as well as punish and it's based on one's own actions rather than just whimsy, that is play your cards right and Saturn is your friend instead of your enemy (not by kissing up to Saturn but instead by not being a fool, or weak, whatever). I know there are professional astrologers who say that how Saturn affects you depends on the choices you've made (and will make) in life so to me.I see Saturn as just another cold force in the universe (like gravity) and thus don't take it personally and also realize that by working with it I can make that energy work for me (much like the sun, do I get sunburned or am I careful so that I tan instead, and do I avoid it or learn to harness solar energy?).That is Saturn manifests a certain energy in our lives but it's still up to us on how it manifests, and whether it's more good than bad or vice versa. aleenaxo...aleenaxo...aleenaxo...SaturnFan quote:Originally posted by PixieJane:To me, Saturn is someone who can reward as well as punish and it's based on one's own actions rather than just whimsy, that is play your cards right and Saturn is your friend instead of your enemy (not by kissing up to Saturn but instead by not being a fool, or weak, whatever). Fully agree with Pixie. I've come to have the same understanding and appreciation of Pluto as well.

That is Saturn manifests a certain energy in our lives but it's still up to us on how it manifests, and whether it's more good than bad or vice versa.
