T O P I C R E V I E WNYCdodgerFor too long we've come to this conclusion that we are a "sign", or that the only signs that matter are the signs with planets in them. I have always believed this to be false. EVERY SIGN embodies a place in our reality. The 12 houses, are the 12 different sections in our lives. Planets are nothing more than external influences. But every house is a FOUNDATION to who you are and what determines the shape of that particular part in your life. Instead of focusing on planets, focus on what sign are in a house. The most important house is the 1st house. The house of beginnings, and destiny. Your rising sign represents who you are, and who you are becoming in this world, as well as the conditions in your life as you grow. The Sun represents what influences your self-esteem and what makes you feel confident in yourself, and the Moon represents what influences you emotions and bodily senses. But your rising sign, is the very reality of self-consciousness and understanding. The "Head"..Since I believe everyone is every sign, understanding where the signs fall in your house indicates what reality is taken place in your life. An Aries 3rd house, is very different from an Aries 10th house. But Aries is still the same. Even if ZERO planets are in that house, Aries is still determining that area in your life, and that goes for everyone. We ALL have that Arian fire in us somewhere in our lives!Heres a good way to see how the signs affects your life/houses..Aries- I InitiateLeo- I Create/ManifestSagittarius- I UnderstandCapricorn- I UseTaurus- I Have/KeepVirgo- I AnalyzeLibra- I EvaluateAquarius- I ConnectGemini - I Communicate/LearnCancer- I Feel/ProtectScorpio- I NeedPisces- I Sacrifice/ReceiveSee what house governs these signs and you should have a better understanding of why certain things are taking place in your life. I thus see our natal placements like a kind of filter; the original white light of the soul goes through our placements (eg Taurus Moon in the 6th sq. Sun) which filter away some wavelengths of expression and emphazise others, so the resulting light beam is reduced to certain wavelengths, and thus appears colored. But, to me the 'perfect' expression of any chart principle would be the original one that embodies all the archetypical energies, the white lightbeam.Example: The "perfect" Moon expression to me would be one which has...- the bravery of Aries- the stability of Taurus- the mental agility of Gemini- the nurturing instinct of Cancer- the warmth of Leo- the selflessness of Virgo- the fairness of Libra- the depth of Scorpio- the optimism of Sag- the no-nonsense approach of Capricorn- the humanitarianism of Aqua- and the empathy of Pisces. This is an ideal, of course. In physical reality I believe we are born predisposed through our sign/house placements and the aspects to express some of these much more easily than others, because they are our natal default mode. But I also believe that ultimately the goal is to embody more and more qualities of the others, until one faraway day, we might even transcend our natal placements altogether. Bottom line is, all these energies are necessary to make a complete whole, just as light doesn't appear white to the human eye if some of the wavelengths are missing.
