T O P I C R E V I E WZira_2015I have read in a few places that Moon in Libra has the tendency to be distant/emotionally cool yet has a need to be in relationships all the time, which seems conflicting. What has your experience been with Moon in Libras in terms of emotions?I have my Moon in Libra and would agree with the distance but the constant need for a companion seems very unlike me. Yet, I see it a lot in the readings that I have done.I do have my Sun in Aries and Ascendent in Libra. Not sure if that plays a part.CosmiqPhuzI have moon in libra too. I think having your moon in any air sign makes it hard for us to understand ourselves emotionally. Almost foreign in a way. Kind of like Spock. To an extent, I do agree that libra moon gives a longing feeling for a partner. But I think your independent Aries sun counteracts that. My all-or-nothing scorpio venus counteracts it too. Bottom line, you gotta look at the whole chart. My mars in libra conjuncts my moon, which is supposed to give me more of an aggressive, straightforward moon-in-aries type vibe, which I can attest to.Zira_2015 quote:Originally posted by CosmiqPhuz:I have moon in libra too. More than companionship I think they like to be social with others. They love the interaction with others. They prefer harmony and therefore may seem secretive, flaky, indecisive, etc. They have definite opinions but sharing them can be difficult. The middle road seems a better option in order to not ruffle any feathers. Ami AnneWelcome Dop ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? The Moon in Libra folks tend to look for a center-place in which all can be at peace. "Distant" is not really the appropriate keyword. That would apply more to Aquarius, Capricorn, or even Virgo. Libra expresses the principle of Venus and relating, so closeness, not distance is implied. Beauty, harmony, balance, justice. Because the Moon relates to one's own needs, Moon in Libra persons come to realize their own more particular needs in relation to others and their environment -- all things that affect the internal state of being. At least once the person outgrows any people-pleasing tendencies.------------------Astrology & natural medicine blog:3D full sky astrology with declinationsComplete Rising Sign descriptionsPixieJaneThe Libra moon (and Mars) I know very well isn't what I'd call distant, but she is doesn't usually let feelings dominate her, even though she's a teenager. Her 12H merc can make it hard for her to find the words sometimes, though when she's had time to refine her thoughts she can be eloquent. Her Cancer sun, Virgo ASC, Aries Saturn, Aqua Uranus, Cappie Neptune, and 12H Leo merc and Venus (along with being born a Fire Ox which adds to her inflexible qualities and leadership/assertiveness potential) imparts very high standards for herself and others, and that can make her seem standoffish at times, even cold and stuck up to some (but not to everyone, and I've told her to ease up on herself more than I've told her to ease up on anyone else). She reminds me a lot of Hermione Granger (and as that's one of her favorite fictional characters she's glad Hermione does), and that includes in her demeanor and her relationships. Many boys are attracted to her but her Libra Mars makes her attracted to more elegant men with the charm, manners, and who take pride in his appearance (and also believes that who she chooses as a boyfriend is a statement about herself as well so he has to mesh with the image she wants to project) which when combined with her other placements makes it difficult to find a guy who fits that description AND manages to hold up to her very high standards (I just hope she doesn't get hooked on Edwardian romance novels ) so that those who measure up at first are quickly shown to be flawed somehow (which Libra moon can also dwell upon, especially mixed with her other placements), and the more aggressive guys are likely to turn her off from the start as they tend to be too course for her taste (and having high social status at school, among the academic kids anyway, along with her fire placements she's not afraid to say so), which is a reason for worry to me since she's shot more than a few down and a few of the boys were...very poor sports about it.Again, she's a teen, I hope she becomes more flexible and also forgiving of faults (her own and of others) as she gets older. YanmorgI havemy moon in libra square uranus/neptune, trine saturn with a Scorpio Stellium (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter Pluto), Scorpio DSC, Sun/Mars conjunct Pluto in Scorpio, all opposite my ASC and even I can understand why you would say we are distant or appear that way.I must admit, my emotions tend to be fickle, but I blame that on my Uranian nature and moreso since Transit Uranus has been opposite my Natal moon for almost 4 years now I believe so my experience could be from a very small time frame in my life. I can still relate though.I crave closeness and togetherness, but after the usual routine for awhile, I'm ready to break away and do something new. But then again, that could be due to uranus squaring my moon. cultstatusI wouldn't necessarily say I always want to be in a relationship, quite the opposite really, however I do agree that Libra moon might attest to why I stay in a failing relationship way longer than I should.Aries23DegreesMoon in Libra tends to endow one with physical features that are attractive/ attracting to others(much like Asc in Libra). If the person is not physically attractive, then the person projects an emotional temperament that is "ideal"(not too emotional ,but not too rational either). When the Moon is in Libra, it often suggests a mother who put her needs below others. Or did not voice her opinions honestly i.e Did what was expected and said as much. Maybe even behaved much like a metaphorical "doormat" etc.It could also be the other extreme. That the mother was selfish and self-centered , even vain. That she always wanted flattery and the praise of others-at any expense etc.So the Moon in Libra often guards against the extremes of the subconscious ego(Moon) as they grow. They learn to be confident, but not pompous. To be empathetic, but not emotional. To be kind, but not self-sacrificing.To them, it is always about striking a balance and ensuring that there are no extremes in responses. And this search for equilibrium is what they find so attractive/attracting in a mate:As they see the person they are attracted to, to have found a way to "balance" this inner oppositional force. So their tendency for emotional distance, is so that they can be better able to "judge" a situation better and react with minimal emotional prejudice. So the Libra Moon will often ask for advice when they come to an emotional dilemma; how best they should handle a situation? What options are available to them? etc. Most of them(like air Moon) don't want to feel because they imagine that they might lose themselves in feelings and their security(Moon in rational air) will be compromised. But this changes if Moon- Pluto, Moon-Neptune or Moon-Mars aspects are present by natal or transit. Then they can act very contrary to what I wrote.CosmiqPhuz quote:Originally posted by Aries23Degrees:Moon in Libra tends to endow one with physical features that are attractive/ attracting to others(much like Asc in Libra).
