NYCdodger | Although of course no angle is superior to the other, lets play devils advocate and say that one of them does..Which would be superior? The ASC is said to represent how one presents themselves and how life presents itself to it The IC represents the awakening of the soul. If we are born through our ASC, the IC reveals when our soul finally awoken and decided to entire our body (so i heard) The DSC represents what we need to give us balance in our lives. And what we need to help sustain us And our MC is said to be our higher selves. Our greatest expression and personal fulfillment (so i heard) So what do you guys think? If you could choose which would it be?

athenegoddess | I would say the ASC. Because it is our literal physical body and we couldn't be on earth if we didn't have one. |
NYCdodger | Im starting to lean towards the IC You wouldn't have a soul lol |
ReadingTheStars95 | Personally, I would say the IC. They all have their significance, though. |
athenegoddess | I don't know if the IC literally means the soul though. Because if you think about it, 4 comes after 1. And you can't have a 4 before a 1. And 1st house comes before the 4th house. So I dont think the IC literally means your soul.

Its when the soul enters the body, and supposedly leaves it.. |
Liliya | IC, it's you in the deepest depth, your soul. I highly identify with my IC |
athenaia | If we're going by synastry.. absolutely the IC. I always feel shaken to my core whenever there's a planet is hitting it. Hell, even transits to it are very freakin' sensitive. I don't know if I feel my DC/MC nearly as much as I feel my ASC/IC. I think the DC/MC are more metaphysical points.. they're "ending destinations" that can fade or materialize depending on certain circumstances in one's life. They only truly materialize with major transits/synastry contacts. To me, the AC/IC exist as an independent entities in and of themselves. The DC/MC are just directional points. Of course I'm just an astrological hobbyist but that's how I interpret them |
Wild Horses | Tough question. I'm not sure I can choose. It's like trying to choose between the left or right side of a see-saw. Either side you choose, you have no see-saw left without the other side. Can you tell I have a Libra IC? |

Agreed. I've never felt anything in my life like I've felt from someone's Pluto landing right on my IC in my 4th. |
bananaz | Tough question! All of them equally? If I had to list in order of importance, I'd probably choose the way they are ordered in the birth chart. That could change though depending on how much future transits affect me. We'll see... |
Sven555 | Definitely your ASC. The 1st house is the most influential house in the chart, by having at least 1 planet there can make it dominant. Each of the 4 angles give us different focuses in life, so they are independent of each other in terms of what they offer us. But if you had a planet in each of the 4 houses or conjunct the angle, then ASC would be the winner. ------------------ Beginners Guide to Astrology |
Wild Horses | What about if you have the ruler of one angle conjunct another angle? Which angle of those two would be considered more important? I have an Aries MC, and my Mars conj. my AC 0°. So, would that put the focus more on my MC, since it's ruler is on my Ascendant, or would it be putting the focus more on my AC, since it has another angle's ruler on it? Is it making my AC act more like a double-duty angle? Any thoughts on that sort of angle configuration? |
lalalinda | I would say the Ascendant also. When the Ascendant is involved it affects your person, the whole body, or what others see first. The other angles represent an area, something specific but not a whole.NYCdodger, I like what you said about the 4th house being where the soul enters and leaves the body. This makes sense since the Nadir also represents the "end of life" ------------------ "There ain't no revolution, only evolution, but every time I'm in Georgia I 'eat a peach' for peace." NYCdodger | Its just a theory guys. I like and agree with everyone here, BUT i feel like the IC is the most underestimated point in our charts. They reveal many many many many things about us especially in transits and synastry. I follow the whole house system and my IC is 0 degree Gemini in the 5th house (with my BML exactly opposing it) Anyone with their Moon or personal planet in Gemini/Sag would feel it from me. Even Taurus/Scorpio being thats my 4th/10th house. I attract Gemini and Sagi energy VERY easily, more than Aquarius, which is my ASC. I would say in the grand scheme of things my soul's foundation and instinct is Gemini. I am highly influenced by the 12th house (I believe houses affect us in universally not just personally). And my most influential planets are Saturn, Venus, and Pluto with Water being my most dominant element.. My Sun in Leo helps me find inspiration in matters regarding self-esteem and awareness, And my Moon in Libra helps me seek balance and order in my daily activities and interactions. Thats just how i see it for now |

True, but midnight comes before the dawn does it not? Isn't midnight when the soul enters (IC) and dawn when the body receives its first breath? (ASC) |
