T O P I C R E V I E Walexa94Hello everyone,Lately I've been contemplating the idea of finding another way to connect to your sun sign's mission.. I'm thinking it's through the planet that rules your ascendant: when you explore the things related to it (and possibly the house in which it's placed), it then shows you a path to your ultimate self-discovery and self-expression (the sun sign).I mean, I believe that there's so much more to the ascendant sign than just being an immediate response or outlook to the world, or your physical appearance...In my case, for the last couple months, I've been really interested in filmmaking (i just started having this hunch, I don't know), at first I thought that it was because of the aesthetic value of it, but then I felt that it was the creative process behind it that sparked my interest and made me think of venturing in that area. Then I saw a relation between how it gradually interested me and the fact that I have Libra ascending (Venus -> aesthetic appreciation) and a Leo sun (essence -> creative processes -in this case, of filmmaking). Do you have any thoughts on this? What other paths to reaching your sun sign's mission do you have in mind? AscTaurusI express my Sun sign when trying to impress people. When trying to make the best impression possible i.e look how intelligent I am, look at how much I know, look how wise I am, fun I am etc.(My Sun is in Sagittarius)]I express my Moon(Cancer) when nurturing others and it is usually how I expect others to interact with me(in return). The Asc to me has always been most tricky to ascertain(and still is). As I don't believe its meant to be "felt".So I get really puzzled when people say "I don't "feel" like my rising sign ? But Venus is important- through its relationship with my Moon(trine aspect by less than 1 orb). For my emotional well-being, I like to look good and am concerned about my appearance. As well as the relations I have with others. My Sun is ruled by Jupiter but forms a conjunction with Neptune. Venus makes no aspect to the Sun/Jupiter or Neptune. So if it wasn't for the Moon relationship, I would only be concerned with spiritual pursuits and trans-personal ideals(Neptune) than one on one love and romance(Venus). So as part of the my nature, Venus is expressed with my Moon. Not so much by exclusively relating /"helping" my Sun.hmmPost a chart. Personally I don't think your senario makes a strong enough case for your hypothsis. I feel there are other things in your chart that would be able or explain your situation. hmmEta: although it does make sense in my case. Lmao. But I still think we need to take it slow. Hello, I don't think it's strictly necessary to post a chart in this case, because then the discussion would turn towards the relation of all planets to the sun, which is not my original intention to post this topic (I already went a bit off topic by mentioning my moon sign and aspects). Is there any relation between the ascendant sign (and planet) to the sun sign? Does this planet "serve" the main purposes of the Sun sign? or are they unrelated (in some cases) and the individual finds other forms of expressing their sun's traits? alexa94 quote:Originally posted by theunknown:your asc lays out your chart. Whereas in example #2, having Mercury as the chart ruler would incline a capricorn sun in the 5th house towards an imaginative type, say a screenwriter, novelist, etc.? theunknown quote:Originally posted by alexa94: Hi, I agree with you, and got some questions: do you also take in consideration the role(s) of the planet that rules the chart, in mastering the sun's purpose? taking your example #1, having Mars as a chart ruler would make that capricorn sun tend to be more an executive and leader type (also because it's on the 10th house)? If Mars is say in cancer in 4th, the self expression is not easily expressed, is more moody, emotional and is often shown through the native's home. Yet the native identity is anchored in public achievement, career and reputation so there will be a conflict of taking care of the home while also making time for career; this native might feel held back by the family or feel split between career and family expectations.
