I noticed that i'm like a magnet for Pisces/Neptune influenced people (It could be my SN i think)I slightly remember reading that if a planet is at the end of a house then it is interpreted in the next, is that so?athenegoddessIts on your seventh. I have Venus in 3 40' Cancer on the cusp of the 5th/6th house (6th : 4 10 Cancer). Gemini is on the cusp of my 5th house and cancer on the cusp of my 6th. Both interpretations are somewhat valid (venus in 5th vs. Venus in 6th), but mostly the venus in 5th..I am interested in that subject, too, I would love to hear more opinions/experience about this ! NycteaI was wondering because it's(Neptune) in 29' Capricorn and I have Venus 1' Aquarius and they make a very tight conjunction. My 7th house is in Aquarius btw."When a planet is the same sign as the house cusp, it mostly belongs to that house cusp."I didn't know this. Awesome thank you.So my Pluto belongs mostly to my 5th house, Venus to the 7th, Moon to the 10th... cool CeridwenVery different takes on this one. Let me add another one. Did you know about "the rule of the last sixth"?If a planet is in the last sixth of a house it sort of is on the threshold and belonging to both houses, but mostly the following one. The idea behind this rule has to do with the 7th and 6th house. As we know the sun sets at the DESC (the cusp of the 7th house), so while it transits from 8th through 7th house up to the DESC, there is still light, and only at the cusp it sets. however even a time after that, while technically already being in 6th house, there is still twilight (as if the Sun was still above the horizon), and that could be one of the observations behind that rule of the last 6th. Personally I don`t use it. I don`t use whole sign houses either. But I do think that any housecusp, not just the angles, is a sensitive degree, and if a planet is conjunct it within very close orb 1° - 1°30 approximately, it will make itself felt in terms of that cusp very clearly, and that usually is very similiar to its placement IN the house. So for me it is like this: I don`t use cusps, not with signs and not with houses (the luminaries might be a difference because of their width in zodiacal length which can extend 15 minutes to each sides of the centre of the planet itself, which is what the astrologers use to define the sign, but let`s say that centre is at 29°55 Capricorn, the whole width would actually extend to 0°10 Aquarius - so I might be inclined to use a little a cusp with Sun and Moon, too. and then there is of course the thing with the lunar parallax, too. hmm...)Anyway so for me it would not be so much that the planet is counted into the next house (by default), but the conjunction to the cusp of the house makes it very prominent, in fact I think it makes it more prominent, as if it was just placed somewhere in the middle of it.EDITI have an example in my chart myself btw. Uranus 1°21 Scorpio11th cusp 1°37 ScorpioI would not even DREAM of applying Urnaus to the 10th house in my chart. It is just too closely conjunct the 11th house cusp, PLUS it is in the same sign. I wouldn`t generally apply this "same-sign-rule" to any planet, but if it is closely conjunct AND in the same sign, it is absolutely counted into the next house. I do have Mars on 5°10 Sagittarius in 12thconjunct ASC on 7°01 Sagittarius While one could debate this Mars belonging totally into the 1st house (same sign, conjunct), it`s not true. Not wanting to complicate things but this is a 12th house Mars conjunct ASC. It`s both, I clearly have felt both sides of it, which is not easy btw. It`s like a Mars that is aware of its 12th house placement. lol (especially as a child my dreams were very "martial", a lot of violence, death, warlike sceneries, fire in them. Which was weird, as I have grown up in a very safe protected harmonious family. I sometimes felt like I was picking up the family`s history maybe, both grandparents being expelled and exposed to massive violence during the 2nd world war; I wonder if I might have accessed some form of genetic memory.). Ceridwen quote:Originally posted by Nyctea:[B]I was wondering because it's(Neptune) in 29' Capricorn and I have Venus 1' Aquarius and they make a very tight conjunction. You can BET that would be important and make itself feltDopGangEdit: I better read some of this first. VioletsI've been wondering about this as well, and just this morning as a matter of fact.My son has 29 degree Moon in Libra (yes, my son has an anaretic Moon ), and his H5 appears to begin at 0 Scorpio. He has Cancer Asc, and Moon trine Neptune, so I'm not really sure how to interpret his Moon. He already has placements and aspects that would support either house (home/family, and creativity). He acts like a Moon in H4, but that could be his Cancer Asc, and synastry with family.Anyone?Sorry to sort of butt into this thread, but I was literally looking at his chart this morning for this specific reason.SikandaI would interpret that still as a 6th house Neptune. Of course, being in contact with the descendant always adds up, but not as a 7th house Neptune. However if you can relate better to Neptune, then stick to what works better for you I'd say.I have a similar situation in my chart. My descendant is at 5'24 degrees and my Pluto is in the 6th house at 5'18 degrees (in any case, it would always be in Scorpio). For me it is still a part of the 6th house, but it is highlighted due to the fact that it's conjunct my descendant, which might give me some scorpian traits, etc.Kannon McAfee quote:Originally posted by Nyctea:I have Neptune in the 6th, i'ts 1 degree 'away' from the 7th. I noticed that i'm like a magnet for Pisces/Neptune influenced people (It could be my SN i think)I slightly remember reading that if a planet is at the end of a house then it is interpreted in the next, is that so?No. IF the Asc figure is accurate (and that cannot be known without testing and validation) then you've got Neptune opposite Asc, to be interpreted as such. Neptune opposite Asc indicates a tendency to see others ideally, not clearly, to see them based on what you hope is in them or to extend compassion in a way that may compromise personal balance. There may also be a tendency to knowingly or unknowingly misrepresent yourself to others, creating misunderstandings.Houses create more unnecessary confusion in astrology, by implying a system of 'is or is not' categories which don't actually exist in the sky. Moving Neptune into a 7th house interpretation is essentially an admission of rectification of the Asc to an earlier degree. That takes some effort and expertise.------------------The Declinations GuyRising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectificationNycteaThank you all for your responses very helpful. I have DSC conjunct Neptune, not too close but not too wide. It really sucks having a Neptune in the 6th. So i thought that maybe if Neptune is "acting" on both 6th and 7th, the "themes" would be "divided" like... not too much on this side and neither the other, just affecting both but being 'equilibrated'. I don't know if this is possible, i'm just trying to see the good side of it, if there is one I think Neptune on the 7th would be less terrifying for me.Kannon McAfeeThat would be only possible from a luminary whose substantial disc (about 1/2 degree in apparent width) would sit partly over the DC cusp. Neptune cannot do that since its insubstantial point is only 2.3" in apparent width (two minutes arc), 1/26th of a minute of arc, a tiny fraction of a degree. In other words, with Neptune in the 6th it is your health/vocational life/pets that are Neptunian. With Neptune in 7th the 'others' in your life (partners, at least one of them) are Neptunian. There's nothing to be terrified of in astrology. If you find it that way, put it aside and get grounded.------------------The Declinations GuyRising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectificationSpongebobI've actually gotta agree with Ceridwen on this one. I don't *do* Whole signs either, and I think that the planet is in the house it's in, period, although if it's really close to the end (and I mean REALLY close, close enough that when you take a quick glance at the chart, you almost can't tell what house it's in) of the house then there will be some bleed-over and you'll get a taste of both houses. Nyctea"There's nothing to be terrified of in astrology."Yeah Neptune in the 6th house being a threat to my health, that's nothing. I had a best friend who was a Pisces Sun, my sister is a Pisces Sun, my dad a Pisces Moon and Venus, the boy i grew up with(he was my neighbor and a good friend) is a Pisces Moon. I have a friend who's Pisces dominant. The other friend i have is a Pisces ASC. There's probably more that i'm forgetting. So because of the conjunction it affects my 7th too.Interesting, i see that a lot of people don't like whole sign system.CeridwenNo planet in no house is a threat to health! The person themselves are, if they neglect their physical wellbeing. As Cap and Aquarius are differing energies altogether.Aquarius/Cap 7th house cusp both tend to attract impediments, interruptions and delays in relationships. As both are ruled by Saturn, they often learn a more "mature" approach in dealing with partnerships.Aquarius however, is less enthusiastic about this whole "marriage"/"commitment" thing than Cap. I finished school 1 month ago.Aries23DegreesThat Aquarius in 7th is to blame for that prayer Coz Cap energy there just can't wait. And often they can be drawn to work that has a more "spiritual" rewards than one that is purely materialistic.I really don't picture a 9-5 corporate office job with these guys. Nor one that is high-paced and dis-engaged from one on one personal contact.NycteaWell i must have a lot of things in my chart that contradict these 6th Neptune tendecies to escapism and "working for spiritual rewards". Besides daydreaming i don't do drugs or alcohol (maybe it's also a 6th house Neptune tendency i think). Thanks for sharing all of these. I imagine that the reason why 6th house Neptune doesn't affect me so much is because i have 6 planets in angular houses. I read that mutable houses aren't strong as much as the cardinal ones.
