T O P I C R E V I E WmanderinThere are threads who talk about the female with this aspect often ending up in relationships with abusive men. That makes sense since Mars symbolizes aggression and Venus Symbolizes the traits the female herself are likely to take on... So mars squaring her venus can easily translate into her bringing men into her life that are aggressive towards her. But what about men with this aspect? Do they attract ugly women because venus is squaring his mars? I'm confused about this one for men.Aries23DegreesTrouble(Mars square) in paradise(Venus). Bad decisions(square Mars) in love (Venus)Men may attract jealous women and women may attract hot-headed men.The truth is however that most of these people wouldn't prefer it any other way.Someone i know has Ven/Mars opp and even with Saturn aspecting both, the tension smoulders in their marriage. They were never drawn to good guys/nice people. Often having a soft spot for bad boys who seem to treat them badly or those who are hot but self centred etc. hearttreasureAs a female who has Venus square Mars tight, I don't like the aggressiveness from a man but I tend to be chased by this kind of men. All of my relationship are happened very quick and always be a center of attention among friends (especially their friends). But I feel like I am treated like a trophy than a real partner, so expect possessiveness, jealousy, bad tempers, controlling relationship. Not healthy. Am I making a bad decision? No, I don't think so, because I realize after I get through all of those pain, I have learned some about myself that is hidden and it makes me who I am not in the past (a classic Aquarius traits: cold, unemotional, unattached, aloof, etc). Now, I thank them to make me, me now, and they are all not a bad decision, I love them but there's a fatal mistake and my choice is leaving. Yes they are aggressive but in front of other people they may not look like one.I have a friend who has Mars (Taurus) square Venus (Aquarius), we have amazing synastry and composite, but his aggressiveness turns me off completely and I don't want to repeat the same mistake. The things that I notice from him who has Mars square Venus are:- demanding in a relationship, to the point he comes out with volatile personality- very very passionate in a relationship- very loyal if you are trusted enough and it's not easy to get his trust, it is why he is quite a demanding person- aggressive attitude, sometimesHe has some exes and all ended badly because of his attitude (if I may give my honest opinion). He has a very fiery temper, less tolerant, only looking for a woman with status (he has moon in Cap), sometimes can use a very hurtful words with people who anger him from the smallest thing in the world. I know all of this because he is a good friend of mine and he talks a lot with me.I don't see he attracts ugly women, but I have seen how he is struggling in a relationship and he told me, "I feel unlucky in a relationship department."Beautiful_LightI was just reading this thread: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/011354.html and some have pointed out that this can be an aspect that has a tendency towards anger. My father has this and I concur. I don't think it has to do with having an attractive partner or not, because my mom is quite beautiful whereas my dad was kinda below average lol.ana_beeMaybe it`s also about the way you define male and female energy, within and outside yourself. A square symbolizes a conflict, and what we encounter in our environment, usually results out of something that lies within ourselves. For example Katharine Hepburn had this aspect natally, and she was known for her gender-bending attitude. She never wore skirts, which was quiet a big deal in her time, but she still became a sex object and a huge star, wildly admired by many men and females, alike. I`ve read a lot about her, she`s a fascinating human, but she also seemed to have major issues concerning the relationship between men and women, in general. Although she was quiet independent and progressive herself, she`d say in interviews things like.. A working woman should never get chldren!.. If a woman decides to become a mother, she should stay at home!.. Quiet radical and puritan ideas about the female role in society, for a woman, who herself seemed to be so progressive and ahead of her time.Maybe she wasn`t that progressive after all, and her independence resulted out of the inability to harmonize male and female energy within herself. It`s like she decided that you´d either had to be one or the other. So in her world, a woman was either super feminine or -if she wanted to be independent and adventurous, she had to become almost masculine. Which is quiet sad, because, despite our natal gender and our sexual preference, we`re always both! You can never seperate male and female energy, it`s two sides of the same coin.So I think this might be the major task and challenge of this aspect, to re-define your attitude about what is male and female, and integrate that into a more harmonious picture.Someone who encounters violent, aggressive men needs to ask themselves why they "need" that kind of energy around them, in the first place. Is this how you see men in general? Is male energy always something aggressive, intrusive and destructive to you? How do you cope with aggression and frustration within yourself, as a woman? How do you see yourself as a woman? What is feminine to you?A man with that aspect might ask himself the same questions: What is male to me? When do I feel "manly"? Do I have a problem with that? Do I have the feeling that I have to constantly restrict myself? Or do I have a problem with my receptive side, showing emotions, being caring, being sensitive etc? HemillaI dont like agressive men - but my mars is in virgo so... but yeah i might like a man who is up for a good debate here and there (venus in gemini) Moonbeth quote:Originally posted by manderin:There are threads who talk about the female with this aspect often ending up in relationships with abusive men. Men may attract jealous women and women may attract hot-headed men.
