sand | no idea how to answer this in relation to the first house. "What do you want (or did want) but don't have?" Saturn in the 1st house Gives the willpower to finish off jobs. You may take life and yourself seriously, but with dignity. Good sense of justice and will be able to lead others and make plans for them. You will seldom speak or act without a definite purpose. You make a loyal friend. Always want value for money. Never get fat or drunk because of pride. Don't like throwing things away. May well be a horder. If Saturn is conjunct the Ascendant the birth could have been difficult one: the soul was reluctant to come in. This position gives early maturity: the person is born "old" and gets younger in attitude as he grows older.Shy and introverted. Makes an early start in life. Needs to cultivate self confidence and a sense of their own worth. Ability to work hard and through determination, persistence and self-control can achieve success in life. Early life was probably austere and disciplined and not apt to have a feeling of being loved in the early part of life. There can be great deal of selfishness and self-centredness if Saturn is afflicted. Instinctively conservative and sensitive to the restrictions of authority and their environment. Some meet failure at every turn, while others achieve success by sheer hard work and dedication. To succeed they need to develop a sense of inner authority and ¬self discipline. Saturn conjunct Mars = Doing ones duty in a cautious and constructive manner.

Saturn in first usually knocks your confidence, so perhaps have you wanted more confidence from teenage years maybe?? |

sure that's possible. maybe even 8-12 years old? |
flowerpower | Hi all, I have two questions about my own chart. Is Saturn in cancer in the 10th house a contradiction - I mean, you want to succeed in the world outside, but really feels like you can't ? Is there any planet, or aspect that can counter weight Saturn's powers ? |

Great question about Saturn in the 1oth. It is it's natural house which gives it a benefit. Saturn in the 10th would be life lessons learned from career and your role in society. You may have to strive to find your place in your career. You may have atruggles( and prolly will) However, the good thing about Saturn is that it rewards hard work and diligence, so you will have greater blessings and depth in the parts of your chart that Saturn touches, IF YOU STICK TO IT. These are the key words of Saturn. As far as mitigating Saturn's influence, I would say that Jupiter would do that, if you had them conjunct or in a positive aspect such as a trine or sextile. That is my 2 cents. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

flowerpower | Thank you Amianne. Oh, so much hard work still to come then... I have just been thinking of giving it all up :-) My saturn is about squares and conjunctions. Fortunately I checked and I have trine Jupiter, in the 6H - at least some thematic affinity - but in pisces. So I keep with the research.

Randall | Saturn isn't bad; it just wants to teach discipline. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark |
Aries23Degrees | Saturn in 8th; Failure to get emotionally "in tune" with others. One who may have difficulty getting in touch with sexual feelings; Experiencing an orgasm. One who may have been sexually mistreated or burdened with sex far too early in age. Difficulty "letting go" sexually. taught that sex is "bad" and "sinful" etc. One who tries to control things beyond their control(futile). One who tries to equate themselves with "the powers that be". One who controls their finances well because of harsh lessons learned within this regard. One who fears debt/loans because of the restrictions they bring. Conservative approach to death issues as well as sex. One who is turned on sexually by older partners. One who believes in long-term investments that are risk free. One's sexuality peaks when older. One who represses sexual urges. One who may take on authoritative office in Investment, banking or financial institutions dealing with shared resources. I have this placement. |
aquagembaby | I have saturn in my 2nd house, but also have sun in 2nd as well. Saturn in 2nd house sucks Money does not come by easily. When I do have money, I fear losing it so I save it. I'm extremely cheap and stingy. I collect change and love coupons lol I also hate the fact that people are slaves to this system and are taught to be materialistic. I never cared about being rich, just having enough to get by and not be in poverty. I feel like I will struggle financially, and it won't be for a loooong time until I find a okay paying job |
Randall | Have you had your Saturn Return yet? |
Randall | Money issues could let up after that (depending on how you've handled things prior). |
aquagembaby | I have absolutely no idea |
Ellynlvx | They usually occur at ages thirty and sixty, approximately. |

Astrologic | I am pretty sure that Saturn is in my 11th House... If I am reading the table at my chart right the 12th house starts at 27 Sag 14' and Saturn is at 27 Sag 13'14" |

It technically is in your eleventh house, however I would interpret your saturn as falling in the twelfth house, because it is so close to the cusp. Read Saturn's interpretation of both houses and look at it as if you've been cultivating the lessons of the eleventh and are heading into discovering the lessons of the twelfth as a evolvement of those former lessons (since saturn, unless it turned retrograde the day after your birth, will be progressing through your twelfth house). |
jenny415 | Saturn is in my 7th house, along with Uranus! |
aah08 | I have Saturn on the 7th house too. What i'm curious about is does it have the same effect when is retro? |
SDragon | Don't hate Saturn in the 7th. Instead of thinking of placements as things you need to deal with, try to believe that they are things you 'chose' to deal with. A change in perspective can do wonders. Retrograde Saturn usually indicates an older soul, so because the energies are internalized more, you can confront the issues internally as opposed to having to deal with it through other people per se. edit: I have Saturn in the 7th |
