Or elect right people to office.US is a republic form of government not democracy. jwhopWell, the framers of the Constitution believed "Democracy" was the most vile form of government on earth. That's the reason the US Constitution authorizes a "Republic" and guarantees a "republican form of government to every state".Apparently, there are some who do not know the Constitution gives the power to "make law" to the Congress of the United States...and not to citizens through the initiative process. If citizens want laws passed which better suit them...and are Constitutional..then elect the right Representatives and Senators to the Congress of the United States.Mannu Heart--Shaped CrossI dont care if its a Dictatorship...That doesnt make it right. And its not set in stone. There is a little something called "progress", which implies that we neednt look to our forefathers to tell us when its okay to think for ourselves, and to take the laws (which govern our own lives) into our own hands. The most mature and revolutionary mark of the Constitution is its willingness to admit fallibility and to encourage citizens to "petition the government for a redress of grievances", as stated in the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights. I am well aware that what most people have called "democracy" is a far cry from true democracy. Thats what makes this so revolutionary. We are finally talking about really giving the power to the people. The principles which our politicians love to pay lip service to are finally being put to the acid test."That government is best which governs least." ~ Thomas Paine(perhaps the only founding father with any "Common Sense")Heart--Shaped CrossOn Children Kahlil GibranYour children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you,And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls,For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your childrenas living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.Let our bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.Heart--Shaped CrossVote for the National Initiative!!
