Faith | Washington is so damn corrupt it makes my head spin. If you feel like having your blood pressure go up, just watch this video: http://www.fox19.com/story/20499683/ge-and-citi-bank-get -huge-tax-breaks-out-of-fiscal-cliff-deal#.UObJsYM4rYw.twitter |
katatonic | there will be new negotiations with the new congress. we need to be lobbyists ourselves and let them know what we think about this BS. |
Faith | quote: A Republican Senate aide familiar with the cliff negotiations tells me the White House wanted permanent extensions of a whole slew of corporate tax credits. When Senate Republicans said no, "the White House insisted that the exact language" of the Baucus bill be included in the fiscal cliff deal. "They were absolutely insistent," another aide tells me. (The White House did not return requests for comment.)

The fact that obama is on record for WANTING it is another clear sign that he's a corporate puppet. |
katatonic | you know, i listen to both sides and a bunch of outsiders too. but the interesting thing is that EACH side will accuse the OTHER side of being the one who did such and such... and what the republicans are whining about the most right now is how efficient a chess player obama has been...where before the election they were saying he couldn't negotiate his way out of a paper sack. mostly i am tired of all the blame being laid everywhere but at the blamers...we could all go on tax strike but we're too busy fighting amongst ourselves, aren't we? let's start acting like CITIZENS NOT SUBJECTS? |

I agree to that. Politics is bread and circuses, for the most part. |
katatonic | there is no aspect of life that does not involve politics. do you expect to get everything your way on the street, in your home, even with your kids? negotiations are part of life. politics is just negotiation. yes there is rampant corruption in washington. power corrupts. that is why ABSOLUTE POWER cannot be allowed to be TAKEN legally or by stealth. if you don't speak up you have nothing to complain about. i know of at least one group that thinks violence against property and big money/power sources is the answer...it will only create more costs to the consumers and bring more stringent security. several people here think europe is totally controlled by communist dictators. however the PEOPLE have insisted on the BANNING OF GMOS in most of europe, the PHASING OUT OF NUCLEAR power, and the institution of GREEN energy... and most of them have NO GUNS either! |
