T O P I C R E V I E WLemingtyneI haven't posted to this area before. My little brother was in a bad auto accident on Saturday morning. He'll be ok, but, among other things, he lost a lot of blood, has some broken ribs and had to have his spleen removed. He's in a lot of pain right now and will probably be in the hospital for a long time. My family feels very scared and sad and angry.geminstone ... strength to you and your family, Lemingtyne. Noreen26taurus sue gSending lots of love and healing to your brother x x xDayDreamer pixelpixie LemingtyneThank you all for the healing thoughts and love!I finally got to see my brother on Thursday. They had him sit up in a chair for a few minutes for the first time and it wore him out.Yesterday he was able to walk a little bit with some help and to eat real food for the first time. He's doing well and should be able to get out of the ICU soon, and may even be home by the middle of next week!He did lose a kidney, but the one he has left is working fine. The worst is over.Saturn's Child 26taurus SunShyne BluemoonLove to you and yours. TouchstoneLots of healing light to your brother. I hope he is soon well.TouchstoneLemingtyneBrother came home from the hospital today after 2 1/2 weeks there. I'm trying to leave him alone and let him rest and do as much as possible for himself so he won't feel useless & helpless. Of course I'll do whatever I can to help if he asks.A doctor friend of our Mom told her she's concerned about him possibly becoming depressed. So now her natural tendency to nag and worry and intrude and pester is heightened, and I feel like this isn't good for him. She thinks we have to watch him every minute, and she's constantly asking him questions while he's trying to sleep. And she doesn't want me to mention to him that she's worried about him being depressed and -- hurting himself?? I don't know. He's perceptive enough that he doesn't need to be told something like that outright. Seems like mind games to me. But maybe she's right about some of this. What is the right thing to do? What's the best way to help him get better?
