T O P I C R E V I E WPumpkin PeaceI'm a very emotional person who runs a lot on feeling, even though I know it isn't good a lot of the time. In short, I'm a Cancer Sun with a Cancer Moon. Does that say anything? lol. I've been going through some really big changes in my life, and I don't have anything to keep me stable besides my own thoughts, and it's hard to keep my thoughts steady when I don't feel like my feet are even touching the ground yet. And not having anyone to really confide in is making it worse. It's been like this for almost a year now.If anyone has any advice or meditation practices they would like to share, I would really appreciate it! Somehow I know that things will be all right in the end, but it's hard to see that sometimes when I get .. well.. paranoid about the future. I'll be grateful for anything you have to say about this. good girlWell, religion can be grounding. Or taking up a pleasant hobby like geneology.(since your a cancer)And if you need someone to talk to I'm here, I'm easy to talk to , andwe can start our own thread anytime. I'm a capricorn so we could have a good yin/yang kind of thing.Pumpkin PeaceOoh, I love Capricorns. They always seem to be stalking me wherever I go and placed in important positions in my life. Well, I'm glad to meet you, good girl. I'm actually feeling quite better now, but it's always nice to have someone to talk to, and since these bouts of depression tend to come again. One thing I think it may be is PMS. Lol. Starting our own thread would be a good idea. And if you want to talk about any of your own problems, I'll be here, too. No subject is taboo with me. Lucia23Yay good girl...a nice, trustworthy Cappie friend is exactly what a Cancer needs.Other ideas for you:-Get a cuddly pet to mutually nurture! I am Cancer Moon-Saturn-Venus...my little cat gives me so much grounding and comfort-you need lots of cuddling and hugs. If you don't have someone to hug you right now (except virtually), treat yourself to reflexology or a massage-Make a healthy, home-cooked meal with lots of veggies...soup is good...and bake homemade bread from scratch-take a day off and stay home with a pile of good books, some healthy comfort food (homemade granola; roasted root vegetables; fruit compote with honey), and a nice bath-meditation and yoga-go easy on yourself-get out into nature...volunteer at a garden...and buy some fresh, potted herbs for your kitchenLucia23Also, a lovingkindness meditation practice--where you wish all beings happiness and the causes of happiness--is great for all that Cancerian emotion. It turns it outward, instead of holding it inside and creating all sorts of attachment/moodiness/crabbiness.Pumpkin PeaceThanks so much, Lucia! Those are all very good tips. I do eat very healthy normally, but recently my only comfort has been coming from food and I want to take the focus away from that. But the biggest problem is that I don't really have a chance to get out, since I just moved to a new town and I don't know the place very well, and I don't drive. Of course, that all boils down to my initiative to search around for things to do, since I DO have a bicycle, which can take me places, for sure. Plus, that'll be exercise, which will also contribute to my well-being.I think the hugs and massage will have to wait... there's no one around for that, and I can't afford it right now. I have plenty of free time since I'm still looking for a job, which is why I have so much time to think in a downward spiral. I really appreciate those tips! I guess you do know what a Cancer loves. I think I should start by buying a plant to take care of. I really want to plant something and watch it grow from the seed, but I think it's too early right now and I should wait for spring. Gardening sounds really great. Also, having a pet would be wonderful, but, again, I can't afford to have one at the moment. So a plant or two will have to suffice. good girlNice to meet you too Pumkin Peace, glad to hear your feeling better. And thanks for the offer, pluto is entering capricorn so I may need it.Are you an astrologer? Do you ever track the moon to see how its sign changes affect you? What does Pumkin Peace mean? I almosted typed in Pumkin Pie LOL!!Pumpkin PeaceI wouldn't call myself an astrologer, really, because of my limited knowledge of it. I don't know how to draw out a full chart yet and I'm not so familiar with houses and other more detailed things. I really do love it, though, and I'm learning more about it. I did track the sign changes of the moon at one point, but I wasn't sure how it really affected me, so I stopped. But of course I'd like to know all I can about that, if I get the chance. I've seen some of your other posts around the site and from what I saw you have quite an impressive knowledge of astrology yourself, and it would be cool to learn from you. I got my name Pumpkin Peace from Linda Goodman's tape onto which she recorded herself reading exerpts from her happiness poem. Apparently it was the name of one of her cats. I just thought it was cute. If you want to hear the recordings for yourself, you can find them at consciousevolution.com You can read her Star Notes there as well, unless you've already read them. Just thought you might be interested. Peace!babeefoxxOoh, I'm a Cancer moon, too!Getting a pet, my cat is the most down to earth creature I know. Seeing the simplicity of her life and her unconditional love for me is grounding. Animals are amazing.Maybe yoga, I just answered cheshire's thread. Yoga is great, a great way to escape life's throes. Some good eats! Something a cancer would enjoy, as do I! Something homemade or gourmet to soothe your soul! Maybe travel back home and have your mom make you one of your childhood favorites!------------------I love my Virgo <3S: AriesASC: LibraM: CancerV: TaurusM: Gemini
