mermaid26 | Haven't had the experience yet, but it has come into my awareness very recently to do this as a key to my healing journey. Here's a great link to locate them: http://labyrinthlocator.com/ |

tuxedo meow | i have felt healthier and more focused while doing these walks especially the outdoors one. It amazed me that I had walked two-thirds of a mile in such a small place. |
Randall | Is it nearby you? ------------------ "Everything I eat has been proved by some doctor or other to be a deadly poison, and everything I don't eat has been proved to be indispensable for life. But I go marching on."--George Bernard Shaw |
SunChild | Cool, there's one near us- sort of, would like to go one day. ------------------ “It’s an interesting thing. Seeing Kuan Yin relating to a flower so intently. She's not just looking at it; she's interacting with it…I’m seeing how the act of relating to a flower appears to be so simple. Yet, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to make such a “simple” act important. Now, the lotus is floating away.” |
tuxedo meow | the one I walk is quite nearby and supposed to be one of the largest ones. It is 1/3 mile going in and 1/3 mile going out. it is made of stone and mulch. Stone as in large stones/rocks. It is behind a Universalist Unitarian Church. |
tuxedo meow | Somewhere I read there are only 2 like it. Its in the Fox River Valley of Illinois near Elgin where i visit at times. It can be found on the internet |
tuxedo meow | i used Mermaid's link and found 12 in my near by area! I did not know they were so commonly found! Now i feel like I must visit each one. My fascination is the pattern and the mileage purpoesly walked in a small space. i mean if one was to just walk about ones' yard or local park without the labyrinth's presence it would seem bizarre but with the made paths it is somwhat enobling? |
rajji | Even i have a fascination for labyrinths! It is cosmos to those who know the way, and chaos to those who lose it. It is Ariadne's thread, whose windings create the world and yet enable us to unravel it or ravel it.... (Purce 29).
