Stawr | warm milk, or even better Valerian. Reading a book also makes me sleepy. And for some reason I immediately pass out after drinking OJ. |
Cancer/Scorpio729 | Warm milk or chamomile tea and a dense book (I read a chemistry book because ew chemistry). You could also try a hot shower or bath with soothing essential oils, soft cover and pajamas, dim lights..ambience is everything. |
stargazer21 | Thank you so much guys. I love warm milk and I think I'm going to try adding oils to my shower. ^_^ |
Violets | Holy Basil works so well for me when I can't sleep. I take it in supplement form. You can take that with some Skullcap if you want to, both very relaxing. I personally dislike Chamomile anything, unfortunately, so I don't often drink chamomile tea. But if I do, it definitely helps me sleep. Ditto for Valerian Root. Even if I take the capsules the taste (which is naaassssty) still manages to linger in my mouth. Yuck. It will put me to sleep, though. Good luck! |
PlutoSurvivor | Maybe you were a sentinel in a past life? (not kidding - I know one person who had a healing based on their lifetime as a sentinel and they were able to sleep afterwards)

PlutoSurvivor | The answer to your problem may lie in the unconscious. Hypnotherapy may help a great deal. (I have one friend who recently began sleeping throughout the night after a hypnotherapy session.) |
PlutoSurvivor | If you are alone at night and have trouble sleeping you may be experiencing feelings of abandonment either from this life or a past life. Try meditating on this. It may help you gain clarity. It's usually better to find and heal the cure instead of just treating the symptoms. |
lucidrealm | Chamomile tea does nothing to me. Valerian too. Maybe needs stronger dosage it was pretty mild/low. |
Randall | Welcome! |
Stawr | Chamomile makes my eyelids heavy. |
Randall | Every aspect of your life will improve with more sleep. |
sweet-scorpion | Have you tried a low-dose of Melatonin? It is a natural sleep aid you can take temporarily to get yourself back on track. It has worked well for me. If you're an electronics person like me, limit yourself and turn off your laptop at least 1 1/2 hours before bed, and your phone too - the glowing light has been proven to keep people up. Never drink caffeine after 7 PM in the evening, 5 if you are sensitive and need to sleep early. Good luck! |
PlutoSurvivor | There's a homeopathic combination in tablet form called Sedalia, for nervous/irritable/hypersensitive individals, which when taken at night relaxes you so that when you do sleep you wake up refreshed. |
