T O P I C R E V I E WDancing MaenadI no longer think they are the hallmark of doom and gloom. Sure, they do come with their own set of challenges, but I think there might be some secret reward in there too. Recently I bumped into some unaspected planets in synastry and I wouldn't say the interaction lacked that energy in the least. For instance, I have an unaspected Mercury with someone but we hit it off from the beginning, we get each other's sense of humor and way of thinking, it's effortless. Also, my Mercury rules my 5th and my 8th and there is no shortage of attraction on my end. I think there is something deeper going on with these unaspected planets that I am missing altogether (well, of course, it is my blind spot since I was born with one myself). ------------------~the raving one dancing in the nude~Ceridwenhave you checked solstice points and midpoints, being activated by the unaspected planet?SeleneI am usually attracted to the guys who have at least one unaspected personal planet in synastry. Usually then the corresponding house ruler of theirs is hugely aspected. For instance - unaspected Moon, but very emotional interaction, care for each other, closer than anyone, telepathic... but his 4th ruler aspected greatly and my stellium in his 4th. There are usually things that balance out the unaspected ones. Dancing Maenad quote:Originally posted by Ceridwen:have you checked solstice points and midpoints, being activated by the unaspected planet?I haven't, I admit. Didn't have the time, my schedule doesn't allow me to pursue astrology all that much anymore. I couldn't do a thorough analysis, but those jumped right at me. Good point about the midpoints, I always forget about them. ------------------~the raving one dancing in the nude~Dancing Maenad quote:Originally posted by Selene:I am usually attracted to the guys who have at least one unaspected personal planet in synastry. But I always thought the unaspected planet would be felt like some sort of lack or barrier between the two. Turns out it's not true. This person and myself have two unaspected planets - my Mercury and his Saturn. ------------------~the raving one dancing in the nude~KohoI never considered unaspected planets as automatically bad.I figured if my Venus in Libra is unaspected to, let's say, their Venus in Gemini, I still consider our Venus energy compatible. It isn't intense but the base compatibility is there. GabbyI love when ppl touch my unaspected moon, it feels likes they help come I to contact with that energy...it's tough but they awaken dormant energy in me.Dancing Maenad quote:Originally posted by Gabby:I love when ppl touch my unaspected moon, it feels likes they help come I to contact with that energy...it's tough but they awaken dormant energy in me.I have an unaspected planet natally too (Venus) and when someone makes aspects to it, it's a big deal. I wonder if duads don't have something to do with it.. my duad Saturn conjuncts his natal Saturn (which is unaspected in synastry). I have not had time to do his duads yet but he might have something at 22 Aries, on my Mercury too. Though I must say sometimes I do get an off feeling re our communication. We're sometimes badly out of sync, like I'd be tired (usually) and he'd be in a cheeky mood. But I've never had that feeling of what the hell is this person about?? Like I did with others. I get where he's coming from, I get what he's saying. I understand and relate very well. Relationship astrology is odd. Never can truly predict how one will go..------------------~the raving one dancing in the nude~Ceridwenis the planet unaspected in progressions, too? LeeLoo2014Hi, DMI've had two major, passionate, intense love relationships with two unaspected planets in my chart: Mars lol (no do) and Moon, my 7th ruler I haven't had situations when the other's planets were unaspected. In my experience with other charts and my personal experience was exactly the same, the way unasected planets behave is a bit like this: if the rest of the synastry is strong, there is an overstimulation from the beginning in regards to the unaspected planet. In the case of Mercury, this manifests as a strong need for Mercury to talk, communicate, exchange, express itself towards the other person. This is growing with time. This overstimulation comes from the fact that the needs of that planet are not fully satisfied within the synastry, so the planet's needs are basically over-inflated as time goes by. Something like: there's something lacking for my Mars here, so expressing my Mars in this relationship, by overcompensation, becomes, at some point, the most important thing for me, as if it's the only thing that interests me. A bit of an obsessive part come in here, obviously, mostly on a subconscious level, in regards to the needs of that planet and satisfying them in that relationship. The pressure is building up and a crisis occurs. The crisis could be separative, but it could also lead to an indirect solution: this could be seen, astrologically, in the condition of the dispositor, the energy is taken over by the aspects of the dispositor, or a more complex configuration can occur, for instance with progressed aspects.By unaspected planet I think we should mean a poorly aspected planet; if she has a bunch of minor aspects, I'm not sure we can call her unaspcted, but if she only has one sesquis or one quincunx maybe coming from her, yep, that's unaspected for a major, personal planet. She should (I'm calling her she now hahaha, cause you're a girl) have at least one major aspect, or at least 3-4 minor aspects. The condition of its dispositor in synastry is important too. My Mars was indirectly aspected through its stellium with a great aspect: Venus trine my Pluto (my stellium is Mars Mercury Pluto), but since Venus was poorly aspected (Mars' disp), that wasn't enough and it was felt perfectly. NOT in the beginning, but gradually and aggravating. My Moon not being aspected led me to break the relationship (because of her value as a 7th ruler, at some point I considered another kind of partner, better, awaits me) although the emotional connection, the intimate life were fully met for me. ------------------ I seem to have loved you in numberless forms...SoujiroSetaUnaspected planets, imo, aren't felt in the beginning. They are like saturn. You feel them later, when the newness/excitement has died down a little. This has always been my experience.I've had an unaspected mercury as well. In the beginning, we could talk and talk. As time went on, it felt like there was nothing left. Like we didn't really know how to communicate very well on a verbal level. This can present itself in multitude of ways. In regards to unaspected mercury: being out of synce (wanting to relax silently while the other wants to talk), talking to eachother but not really speaking the same languange, not really having much to talk about if/when you do try and talk, etc.OdetteI'm not a fan of unaspected planets. I still think they are one of the biggest problem areas in synastry. My mum's Mercury is unaspected in her synastry with my dad. It lasted almost 5 years, but went horribly downhill in terms of communication.Dancing MaenadThanks for input, everyone! I can relate to what you guys have said even now, in the early stages. It gets more interesting because his Saturn is also unaspected and it's his 3rd house ruler. There have been times when we've been out of sync but so far it has not been a big issue. We've been texting and chatting for more than a month and have shared a lot so far. We have not met in person yet.. so there's no point in making this a bigger deal than it is. I'll update if necessary. ------------------~the raving one dancing in the nude~
