T O P I C R E V I E WDancing Maenad http://www.southfloridaastrologer.com/relationship-test-compatibility-versus-attraction.html Tell me your scores!CeridwenWhat a coincidence! I stumbled across this just last week (but have not yet come around to look at it really)Ceridwenreminded me of this one (though id onīt think the equation attraction vs compatibility is really that simple.) http://astrologyexpressed.wordpress.com/2012/01/21/before-synastry-a-very-basic-look-at-charts/ SeleneI have exactly 30 both with my BF and Mr.Uranus. starmoon58. top range of friendly. good enough for me, not looking for 'passionate attraction' anymore...mir^ me neither40 here very satisfied with that Ceridwenmy parents: 28 pointsmy best friend and her hubby: 10 pointsmy brother and his girlfriend: 18 pointsDopGang60 *shrug* Dancing Maenad quote:Originally posted by Ceridwen:my parents: 28 pointsmy best friend and her hubby: 10 pointsmy brother and his girlfriend: 18 pointsWOW!Dancing Maenad quote:Originally posted by DopGang:60 *shrug* Why shrug? Dancing MaenadLol!CeridwenDM,I just found it interesting that apparently the longterm couples (in my surroundings at least) seem to prefer compatibility); however I wouldn`t pay much stock in these scores and this kind of scoring anyway, as the question compatibility vs attraction is not as clear cut as this. Like mutually exclusive. lol There is attraction that is actualy based on compatibility esp. int erms of Yin-Yang-planets being compatible (which is what happens in the 3 examples- which btw are all being different in terms of their TEMPERAMENT, except for my best friend and her hubby). And incompatibility does not always automatically mean attraction. That score actually is pretty non-telling imo to be honest. SeleneI agree with Ceridwen. But i prefer the kind of relationship i have with my bf (test says we're very compatible, fall in the first category). We haven't had an argument like once. He's like my safe place to go, but that does not mean that there is no attraction between us - it's there and huge. We're very physical and always touching each other even if we're just sitting next to each other. Always in some kind of physical contact. But it's interesting. He has Cancer Moon and ASC, but my only water planet is Pluto (trining his Moon and ASC). I have Leo Moon and Jupiter, but he has zero Fire planets or points. Fascinating, because we feel so much at home with each other, even though we lack the element of each other's Moon. Dancing MaenadI know, I know. Grain of salt. Still, I am curious about it!Dancing MaenadWhat I like about this approach the most is that it doesn't put that much emphasis on aspects and tightness of orb. I am starting to believe even sign conjunctions/other aspects count, because the way in which the two people act are influenced by that and they can be in sync or not. For instance, in my longest, happiest relationship, both me and my ex had Sag Moons, but they were not conjunct. We lived together, used to cook together a lot, had the same vision about tidiness and the way a home should look like. It was a very fulfilling relationship, emotionally. We rarely argued and used to have deep, heartfelt conversations. I think having planets/angles in the same element can create a big degree of similarity and compatibility, even without precise and tight aspects, so it was refreshing to see a different take on compatibility anyway. Ceridwen quote:Originally posted by Dancing Maenad:I think having planets/angles in the same element can create a big degree of similarity and compatibility, even without precise and tight aspects, I agree with that. That is where we have to start with our comparision anyway. A Venus-Mars-aspect means little if you have not analyzed the natal charts properly, and the elements are where it starts (but is of course not nearly enough). However a simple score will not really tell us anything. Rather check what IS in synch, like Moons in the same element. or Sun and Moon in opposing signs. Then after that you have to take natal aspects into account (only the strong ones), a pure Aries sun will have different needs and expresseions than an Aries-Sun opposing Pluto, or a Sag-Sun conjunct Neptune. etc. Tight synastric aspects ARE important though, as while this natal analysis indicates how we vibe energetically, it`s the tight aspects that get things moving, if being hit by transits or activated by progressions. Once the thing is up and running of course we will become very aware of the underlying harmony or lack of inner connection, as described in the elemental background and natal aspects.Dancing MaenadYou have a point, Ceri, but I have another example. You know my Moon is 29 Sag. My father has his Moon at 0 Capricorn. We went through family drama the same time, alright - when Pluto conjuncted our Moons, I lost a grandmother, he lost his mother. But we've never been close and emotionally we couldn't be LESS in sync. Living with him was horrible. We basically do not fulfill astro text book description for Moon conj Moon. I would prefer a Fire or Air Moon any day, even if it doesn't make an actual aspect to my Moon - than an out of sign conjunction or trine from an Earth Moon. I never could get a grip on those people! I know nothing about their emotions or what they felt for me. It took Bull 3 years to tell me he was in love with me, after the relationship was already over (Virgo Moon). F*ck that sh*t , I don't need it anymore. I think many people here obsess about orbs and tight aspects and maybe they're not the cat's pajamas after all. Sure, they're important. Somewhat. But other things can be also important, or sometimes MORE important, for some people - such as myself. CeridwenI disagree- somewhat. And agree-somewhat.Tight orbs ARE important in terms of predictions they ARE the pajama`s cat, as you put it. However Moon in Capricorn and Moon in Sag has very different modes of emotional processing and emotional needs. You would have been triggered simultanesouly, but reacted in very different ways due to Moon in Earth and Fire. Moon conjunct Moon does NOT mean emotional harmony in every case - it just means that you trigger each other emotions. This could be also emotions of anger, frustration etc. btw. Though in most cases if the Moons are in the same signs and they are not too differently aspected natally, it usually leads to understanding because the emotional needs are similiar. But not so in out of sign conjunctions! Also even if there is someone having an exact conjunction to someone elses Moon - while there will be basic understanding, if those people have very different aspects to their Moons (one for example aligned with Venus and Neptune, while the other has it aligned with Uranus and Pluto - then suddenly all the potentially nice harmony flies out of the window, as being practically non existent. Still somewhat similiar in processing emotions but only in a very very basic sense; the lunar aspects would overshadow this to a certain degree at least, maybe to a large degree even.)Kannon McAfeeSign based drivel.------------------The Declinations GuyRising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectification♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓
