Dancing Maenad | So, I've been thinking about this lately. How do you think they are felt, since the outers are pretty much conjunct each other and make the same aspects to your inners as they do in your chart? And same goes for the other person's chart too. What if you have nasty aspects and they are repeated in synastry? Does it make for an innate sense of familiarity? Do inners and angles tell the story instead and make the difference? What do you think? Especially if there are only a couple of months in between the people. What are your experiences with this? (school doesn't count ) |

Hi DM :-) yes I have noticed that if a person has nasty natal aspects between personal and outer planets, they prefer hanging out with people younger or older than themselves. these people feel very pressured by people their own age (peer pressure?). during school years too they have mostly felt like an outsider. say a woman has natal venus squre pluto. her partner better be years older than her, as that's the only way she can find peace! I have natal pluto exactly opposite sun. relationships with people my own age have always made me feel, well "dead"!..it sounds strange but I feel really threatened by people my own age, as all their pluto opposes my sun. that being said, yes, I have only had romantic/friendships with people at least 2 years younger or older. |

Elysia | What girlwiththerainysoul said. I think I was talking on some other thread about how my generation triggers my natal Saturn & Pluto squares. Not fun to have someone's Saturn squaring your stellium. *pulling hair out* Or their Pluto squaring my already bruised moon. Have tried, but cannot get along with a LOT of them. It's ridiculous how many. Some I do manage to stay on okay terms with - but that's very rare, and takes a LOT of effort. Many of my most meaningful relationships have been with people significantly older than me, or a few years younger. Conversely:: Some of the nicer aspects bear repeating in synastry. Such as Jupiter to my personal planets - yayy. I have a natal Venus-Jupiter, so I love any Jupiter contacts there OR to other personal planets. It kind of acts like an antidote to Saturn. |
Dancing Maenad | Thank you for your opinion! |
LionFish | Until my ex-husband I had only dated men that were older than me by at least 3 years. My ex is 46 days older than me aand I honestly think if it weren't for his Mars trine my Sun, and his Sun/Merc/Venus/Jupiter didnt fall in my 7th, nothing ever would have come of it. And still.. it didnt last. My current SO is the only person I've ever dated that was younger than me. He's younger by 2 1/2 years. And I am SMITTEN. lol |
todd | I have found surprisingly that if both partners have the same difficult aspects natally, then the composite ,having the same difficult aspect, can succeed inspite of the hard aspect. Todd |
Dancing Maenad | LionFish Good luck, girl! I dated up to 6 years younger. |
Dancing Maenad | What if they're not repeated in the composite? And actually the challenged planets turn into well aspected planets? |

I think this is true. I know a couple whose birthdays are less than a month apart (different signs - Cancer & Leo) and both of them have the dreaded Venus/Uranus square natally and also in their synastry squared DW. It repeats in their composite as a Venus/Uranus square. Awful by most astrological interpretations and yet they led a fairytale-like romance which turned into a "white picket fence" type marriage and seem happy together for years now. Maybe the key is because they are BOTH familiar with the erratic Uranus energy natally, it doesn't bother them as much when they bring it out in each other.

if both partners have the same aspect,it must be repeated in the composite, pure mathematics. todd |
Dancing Maenad | I didn't ask about the same aspect. I know THAT one works, I have had it myself. Different stressful aspects, repeated in synastry, not repeated in composite. |
