T O P I C R E V I E WSylvenHi! Was wondering, what are your findings on house overlays; receptive/active houses in synastry? I was reading about it and find it very interesting. Also it really can mean someone will not be attracted to you because of the house overlay. Even if you have venus/mars or sun/moon etc.. Also read about synastry that does work even if they only have active house overlay but the rulers were aspecting nicely. It is a puzzle. Interesting. I like to chat about this to learn. Thanks! comdocHi Sylven. I always consider house overlays. Zodiacal influences are related to Sun's apparent motion in yearly cycle. House influences are related to day/night 24 hour cycle of Earth rotation.House influence is more specific in time: each House only covers about 2 hours. Sign influence includes more time life experience: each Sign includes about a month of time.Receptive/Active Houses are like Yin/Yang; they alternate. In synastry overlays, always consider angles between ASC's, and all 12 Houses. Identical ASC's imply similar presentation and appearance focus. Note that in this case, synastry planets share the same Earth orientation to the Stars as the natal. So the Natives' views of greater whole are alike. But the planet overlays-- their unique individual perspectives--on that similar background are different. The House rulers aspecting nicely are one component of relating easily. House wheels (ASC's etc) aspecting nicely are another component.Influence of Venus conjunct Mars or Moon conjunct Sun in synastry depends on the natal Signs and Houses in which they fall. And the synastry House overlays and Sign midpoints in the Composite chart. quote:Originally posted by Sylven:Hi! SylvenDear comdoc!! So friendly of you!! Thank you so much. Now I am trying to understand your words as well. Takes a little time. Thanks! StelliaThis is a really useful summary It made me think ... When talking about house rulers aspects, do we mean eg ruler of my 7H is sun, is it the aspects my sun makes to the other chart, or their sun house/placement/aspects to my chart or houses that should be looked for?Or is it more specific so eg my 7H ruler aspecting their 7H ruler?I always get really tangled up when rulers get involved! CapriciousCapricornYes, I am yet to find a decent source of information about ruler-to-ruler aspects in synastry SMHcomdocThanks, Stellia. Rulers of natal Houses in major aspect with other's planets. Or placed in their natal Houses. eg:You are Aqua rising, so Sun rules your DESC. Check their rising sign angular relationship to your ASC, their natal planets in major aspect to your Sun, your planets major aspects to their 7H cusp ruler, their planets falling in your 7H, and vice versa. Also consider any of their planets placed in natal 5th House or Leo. Same principle for your 5H ruler (Mercury?) and Virgo. And their 5H ruler. And your 8H ruler (Mercury?) and Gemini, and their 8H ruler. quote:Originally posted by Stellia:This is a really useful summary It made me think ... SylvenI know about all that you wrote comdoc but does angle (8th and 5th house) rulers override the receptive/active house placements? Say one has planets fall in the others earth houses (not so much romantic but stable and useful) but also angle conjunction(s) and rulers of 5th/7th/8th making major aspect with the others-personal- planet(s) Does this make for a compromise for the not so romantic feel of the visitied earth houses? I feel like I am talking in riddle. And I have read about love not being returned if one has only planets falling into their active houses. But say if the angles are touched and rulers make aspects it does make up for that no? And the romantice feel will be enhanced if angles are in play or rulers make aspects? So things like my sun (7H ruler) opposite his mercury-sun-saturn (merc is his 7H ruler); my IC ruler is mercury, my mercury conjuncts his IC; the ruler of his MC (venus) in the same sign as the ruler of my MC (jupiter); his chart ruler (jupiter) exact conjunct my MC etc?I think I'm going to start a separate thread on this so as not to hijack - thanks so much for clarifying and sparking the line of thought comdocPlease clarify what you wrote. Are you saying your 8th and 5th House rulers are angular in his chart? House rulers do not override the influence of receptive/active house placements: they are separate influences. Earth Houses are romantic! 4H is your most intimate place. 8H is physical sharing of your body and resources including sexuality. 12H is secret hidden contacts.Planets falling only in active yang houses means your developed traits and characteristics trigger their outer directed life experiences.Depends on which angles are touched by which planets. For example, your Mercury on his MC will probably not feel romantic.Consider which House rulers are making aspects for romantic import. I look for 4H, 5H, 7H, 8H ruler major aspects. Note these are angular and succedent Houses in private and others hemispheres. Cadent Houses 6th and 9th influences are weaker. quote:Originally posted by Sylven:I know about all that you wrote comdoc but does angle (8th and 5th house) rulers override the receptive/active house placements? Your other two examples relate more to public reputation and profession. quote:Originally posted by Stellia: I think I get it!
