1. If Knowflakes are the bricks, Mods are the cement/glue that hold Lindaland together. While Mods are encouraged to speak their minds and exhibit their own brand of self-expression, just like any other Knowflake, should tempers flare and arguments ensue, they should not join in the fray but instead put on their Mod hats at that time and guide the discussion back on track, if possible. If not, then they should lock the thread (or lock it if it has gone too far to be put back on track or is leaning toward that point, i.e., a preemptive lock). The Mods' discretion shall always be honored by Randall.2. Mods may not lock the threads of other Mods. Contact Randall instead.
3. Mods may not move the threads of other Mods. Contact Randall instead, or post on the thread that it might warrant being moved.
4. If a Mod feels like a thread posted in their respective forum(s) would be better suited in a different forum, then the Mod may move it there. Upon moving it, ALWAYS check the box which keeps the thread in its present forum, so as to have a record of it.
5. While not mandatory, it is a good idea to post a polite message when closing a thread (so we know who closed it) and when moving one (stating where it was moved to).
6. Mods must NEVER delete threads. Contact Randall in extreme cases of SPAM or other inappropriate subject matter. This also applies for alleged copyright infringement, should a Mod be contacted by the alleged copyright holder. In those cases, Randall may delete certain protected content, but under no circumstances should the entire thread be deleted.
7. Mods should never insult, aggressively confront, verbally attack, or otherwise negatively engage other Mods. Mods are human. Mods themselves are also members of the community. Sometimes, things get heated. No one is perfect, not the least of all Mods. Free expression means sometimes getting angry over issues. That much is understandable. But that being said, Mods are expected to be united for the community and not divisive or polarizing with one other. No insults to one or more Mods by another Mod is allowed.
8. Friendships and bonds will form, but when fights break out, Mods must be able to remain impartial and put the well-being of Lindaland first.
9. If any Mods feel like they are unable to fulfill the above-stated expectations, they are encouraged to take a breather and return when they are more calm. Being a Mod is and should be an honor. It is a position of trust. It also entails a great deal of responsibility. It can, indeed, be a thankless job at times. There is certainly no shame in changing one's mind and resigning as Mod if the above doesn't jibe for some reason.
