lovely* | How are ya doin with the not smoking? Just thinking of you as I sip my glass of wine, wanting a puff off a smoke.. smoking and drinking for me are like twins who don't want to be separated. |
pixelpixie | mmmmmmmmmm wine. I have smoked and not smoked, and right now I am smoking. Zala asked me too, and I avoided the question because I know people will tell me to stop, and I know it too. Addictions are terribly hard. I know next time I am ready agin, I will be as enthusiastic as I was ( before five days came along and I went crazy) I think I have to time it right.... and if I am going psycho, to just put on a patch instead of going to the store or immediate gratification of an evil. My dad is visiting, will arrive today, and he smokes ( another Scorpio) so I won't even deem to try to quit, with him around me smoking. I was going to quit again sunday night ( Hell, while we're at it, I could say I was 'going' to quit every week....) *shame* |
sue g | Dont lose heart dear ones I used to smoke and drink.....and now I do neither....... There is booze in the house and I am not even tempted to touch it. I can sit in a pub full of drinkers and not bother and yet years ago.....I could down a few like the other. I could NEVER take a drink without having a cig. So maybe you do whatever you feel you want to at the moment and then when you get older......you may just want to stop. Good luck xxxx |
Azalaksh | pix ~ I know how hard it is to quit, it took me a couple years of trying..... But the patch is a miracle!! And I'm sure you can find something to do to assuage the need for oral activity {{ love & hugs }} K'Z |
AcousticGod | Took me a long time, too. |
Planet_Soul | Good going Pixie (: My friend recently stopped smoking and it is really hard. I guess he is having difficulty detaching from the movements associated w smoking? Whenever he feels like a cigarette he has a bite to eat instead. Is that a common thing to happen in the first stage? I told him maybe he should stock up on sugarless gum instead, so he isn't trading off one habit for another. |
proxieme | Remember the Wise Words of Earl: quote: Quittin' smokin' is kinda like going to prison. If you can last three days, you'll be fine. Me and Donny's mom tried everything. We listened to the tapes, then we tried the patches, then we heard somewhere to try carrot sticks. We tried it, but we couldn't get the damn things to light.

lovely* | Pixie, the mind tricks itself when it wants what it wants. It gets increasingly difficult to hide it from kids as they grow up/ I imagine my daughters lighting up at a young age (I was 12) and it deters me. One demographic is increasing and that is teenaged girls who smoke. It's usually because thier mom smoked. Mine did adn it sounds like your dad does too. I hope to break the cycle. Still so much easier to talk about quitting than doing it though. My heart is with you. |
