LOL http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/070919/oddities/germany_social_marriage_politics_offbeat_1 sinderlouGeez, kinda like a cell phone agreement SattvicMoonWell, with divorce so rampant in today's world, I guess even 7 years is a long time! miss_muffetI guess it plays to the "seven-year itch" phrase...? nattie33That sounds very generous. But i think 5 years is enough.SattvicMoonlike someone asked, does that mean children born out of such marriages become illegitimate after 7 years? aqua infernosounds practical naiadi rather like the idea of hand-fasting. i think i've read somewhere that often a hand-fasting signifies a year long commitment, after which the ties may be re-newed, or the couple agrees to go separate ways, still connected and close, but no longer committed.(plans would be agreed upon for children, such as who would provide their primary care, and what sort of care each parent would provide long-term. this would work out very well, as the children would experience a loving relationship between their parents, in either respect, rather than a lot of the misery seen in so many of the "partnerships" that comprise "families" today.)nattie33The children born of that marriage would be just as legitimate as children who's parents later divorced.
