Just Mia | How many of you keep a jounal on a consistent basis..Does it make your life better, or do you find that to be theraputic for you..I have been writing in a journal everyday for almost 5 years now.. |
Peri | Could never do it although I tried when I was a teenager. |
Writesomething | The thought of writing in a journal repulses me. Ive tried to many of times thru the years but it never worked. Blogging online i get...but the actual writing part on paper..no. |
Just Mia | Hmmmmm lost of ppl feel that way..Some days I can go on to fill 5 or 6 pages of what has happen in the last 24 hours or some past stuff that relate..It really is theraputic for me...It helps me to keep recolection of events and dreams and so forth. It shows where I have grown spiritually and so forth..And in most cases if I go more then 5 days with out writing in my journal which I have not in a really long time, I began to feel strange..Hmmmm Not a bad addiction to have I guess... |
AcousticGod | I think LL is my journal. |
MyVirgoMask | LOL AG!! I had a journal for about 8 years and wrote in it every day religiously, about 2-10 pages per day. It gave me discipline as a writer, and a sense of structure when I wanted to do a writing project. And yes, to an extent it was therapeutic. But then the past few years it started to get annoying because every time I sat down to write I felt like I was dissecting myself .... UUUGGHHHH! It's kind of had a counter-productive effect after a while. So now I journal once in a while if there's something I really need to reflect on, but I don't 'go there' as often anymore. I'll tell you, though, the old journals do make for some interesting reading |
blue moon | Yes, and definitely therapeutic, it's mainly thematic about a traumatic bereavement. I wouldn't feel motivated to write a diary logging my trips to the supermarket and the school run. Nor put it on a blog. Blogging I can see the point of but there's nothing currently I feel the need to blog about. |
Deux*Antares | Mine is a Gratitude Journal. I strongly recommend writing down things that we are grateful for, things that we love and appreciate and everything that is going right in our lives. This exercise is like magic because the more we focus on good things the more we attract similar things to us.

charmainec | I agree DA |
amowls* | I've had a livejournal since I was 13 (I'm 21 now). I've written pretty consistently in it. I've tried keeping paper journals but I stop writing after the first 5 pages. |
Valus | just now... when i openned LC 2.0...
just as i saw the title of this thread... alec baldwin (on t.v., duh) said, "wow, that's a lot of journaling."
|
Valus | is thinking about keeping a journal. |
MyVirgoMask | ok, that's just weird |
GypseeWind | I keep a journal consistantly. When it gets filled up, I put it (this is embaressing, in an old cooler) and then start another. Whenever I get seriously bored, I dig them out and re-read them. It's fun and quite humbling to see how you felt about certain things at certain times. And it's good to see that you've grown as a person. |
