Well, Dervish and Unmoved, I am quite grateful there are other Type O fans out there! The last time I saw them, a year ago this past May, I almost gave up my fandom.
I situated myself in the front of the moshpit, held onto a rail for dear life, could have touched Peter if the bouncers would have let me, but I almost wished I had not got so close.
It was the worse show ever. I had seen them once before.
Peter was a shadow of himself. His once long, full hair, nothing but barely there wisps in the wind, his face was gaunt and shallow and his jeans were sinched up tight around his frail abdomen. The rest of the band rocked, but Peter was off and the set did nothing for their older music, cept for Christian Woman. I took pics on my cell phone and even with the light show you could see how sick he was.
When I saw him, I cried, told a friend standing behind me he had either aids or cancer.
I met a lovely lady on myspace, that I remained friends with for quite some time. A stay at home mom and a Wiccan earth mother who lives in New York. She had enough credibility for me to believe her. She met them twice. She reported that he did, infact, have cancer, of what origin she did not know and that he could never give up the alcohol and coke.
Sad, such a talented bunch of men!
I still remain quite in love with Type O Negative, but will have to remember that amazing Cap man as he was, like the vid I posted.
