Randall | Has anyone seen those purple (sometimes white) flowers that grow in bunches and hang upside down like grapes? I don't recall seeing them before, but now they are everywhere, so I was wondering what they are called. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Randall | Nope, the flowers are tiny and form a whole bunch that hang upside down. They look like grapes on a vine from a distance. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." I went first with your bit about the "hanging upside down". Fro a distance Wisteria will look like grapes, especially when in bud or 1/2 bloomed.Wisteria? A very common vine in your area. Grape Hyacinth? Lilacs? ------------------ NumeroLexigrams ~I remember, therefore I am immortal ~Lexxigramer |
juniperb | Most likely the grape hyacinth then . Didn`t know if they were a spring bloom down your way. gardensablaze ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ |
Lexxigramer | You said "on a vine" so I am thinking Wisteria, not tree/shrub Lilacs or ground growing Grape Hyacinth.More Wisteria pictures. Savannah Georgia Chinese Wisteria has a different type leaf than Southern United States types do. ------------------ NumeroLexigrams ~I remember, therefore I am immortal ~Lexxigramer |
Randall | They look like Wisteria...but not as narrow (thicker bunches). And I was just comparing them to grapes on a vine. It's on trees. Whatever they are, they sure are beautiful. |
Lexxigramer | I love such flowering plants too. If you know the leaf pattern it would help identify the species. Lilacs have heart shaped leaves. Wisteria has grape vine like leaves unless the Chinese type.
