JLyn ~ | Remember the magic in the air christmas night leaving out cookies and wondering what hes ganna leave you in the morning? Well, my dad would be drunk like everynite and tell these crazy stories about when the raindeers lands on the roof they slide off and their antlers get hooked in the trees and sh`t, of course santa got drunk with my dad so he burnt his white beard off falling in the fireplace. Yeah i had a strange feeling santa wasnt real when i was like 4, maybe it was my capricorn sun, but that magic of make believe was exciting even though i pretended whats your experience with christmas and all that glitter? ------------------

o.o well lucky you! my mom and dad was to busy trying to slip a 1.00 without me turning over |
sand | ^i might have preferred the 1.00. I think a toy was cheaper to the bills we had back then. Yeah this Taurus calculated that the tooth fairy sold me short haha! |
JLyn ~ | LOL that reminds me, i was in my moms room bored digging and i found this little tiny jewel box filled with all my baby teeth!!!!!! i was like ohhhhhhhh okayyyy. never told her i found'um |
hannaramaa | I work in a hotel and yesterday I had a mom come down with her daughter to the front desk so she could ask me where to put the "Reindeer food." At first I don't get it because its been so long since I've been around anyone who still thought Santa was teal, luckily I caught on and didn't spill the beans though. It was the cutest thing ever! I carried out Christmas traditionally by making cookies, and carrots for the reindeer and setting them near our Christmas tree. I used to be amazed every morning when nearly half the plate was gone lol. |
sand | I think I used to try and pull my teeth for money! Anyways this Christmas will be the first with my half siblings. Gosh I can really spoil people it seems. |
SaturnineMoth | Earthian logic.... I don't think I ever believed in Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairies, or anything that couldn't be read about in an actual history book, and found at the museum. Oh yes, I really drove my parents mad with my incessant questions... who, why, where, what, how.... they never had any peace... I feel a bit terrible now! haha Thankfully, my lil brother was just as difficult to fool with fanciful ideas (brother Capricorn!) :x Tried to play along for the family at large, and those at school/church that were believers and all about the fantastic magic of the holiday/event... but, never quite enjoyed things like others around were. And, still don't like holidays --- just the food. Yet, we have to celebrate for traditions sake, for our son... and my in-laws have a lotta old customs too. It's fun learning the way others celebrate, especially Christmas and Easter with Portuguese. I devised lil' plots to catch my mother with the toothfairy nonsense!!! oh, did I ever~ I was maybe 8 years old at the time? idk -- but, that was pretty much the end of all the mandatory make believe. ^^; ------------------ ( ´(00)`) ~ ブーブー *water pig* Mercurial-Jupiterian Cap-23°-Tau/Vir 7° Scorpy Plutonic-Martian - Sadge Uranian-Venusian |
mockingbird | My eldest has stopped believing but has been wonderful about playing along for the sake of her sisters (Taurus Sun with a Gem stellium in the 11th) We have one of those Elf of the Shelf things, and my middle started to cry when I had to touch him to save him from the baby after he fell. "But his magic will go away!" (Taurus Sun with a Pisces stellium in the 4th). He slept in her stocking for several nights in order to replenish his stores. Today we will make cookies for Santa. My eldest will enjoy the story of it and my middle will enjoy her certainty that Santa will love them. She will leave him a present she made for him - colored paper filled with change. ------------------ If I've included this sig, it's because I'm posting from a mobile device. mirage29 | I taught my girls (1980s) that some things exist that are 'invisible' to see, but we can 'feel' them. God exists, and is 'invisible'... Santa Claus is a "Spirit"... fills the air with joy, happiness, and Love, and we show it by kindness, caring, and gift-giving-- appreciating what we mean to each other. Special Love belongs at Christmas. We'd go to the nearby department store and pull names from their "Christmas Angel" tree. We'd buy gifts for children and families who needed help at christmas. I raised my girls in Christian tradition. Our special ritual was to stand and hold hands in front of the Christmas Tree. Then we'd happily celebrate Jesus' birthday by singing Happy Birthday, then Hurray!! We'd dive into ripping opening our gifts, with christmas music playing in the air!! I LOVE Christmas! I'm alone now... but have these memories in my heart forever.
Thanks I still believe... |
